Honestly, Baba Is You and Celeste are, if you like the genres, alone worth the 5 bucks. But it's too late now, anyway. Still, if you haven't played them, try them. They are really good.
Other games:
Pikuniku is a cute platformer with puzzle elements, and I think you can't die? Might be wrong about that. It's artstyle seems inspired by Loco Roco, and it's clearly a feel-good game.
Anodyne is a game, that's inspired by Links Awakening, in look and genre. I didn't like it that much, but I remember others liking it a lot. It's certainly not a bad game, and worth your time.
They Bleed Pixels is a pretty hard game - side-scroller, where you have to kill a lot of enemies, ideally by comboing. Dunno, it's hard to explain, and it's not my favourite, but it's definitely something to try out.
VVVVVV is a fun, hardcore platformer(?). The artstyle is very minimalistic. You die with every hit, and probably respawn very fast (haven't played it in a long time). The gimmick is, that you don't have a jump button, but you can reverse gravity. So, you basically jump from the floor to the ceiling, and back again. Or, more precisely, fall up or down.
Edit: Just found Pleasant Dreams: The Welcoming Play of Kirby's Dream Land, an ebook that talks about why Kirbys Dream Land, the GB one, is a great game. Have only read a few sentences yet, but there are around 90 pages - should be an interesting read.
