Gotta list 'em all: Send me some top favorite Pokémon

You know the drill: Send me a list of up to 25 of your favorite pocket-style monsters. Here on Talking Time, we love them all, from Bulbasaur to Miraidon and beyond. You may optionally include a blurb or writeup with your choices. It's up to you. Please make it clear which item on your list is your top pick. As is our custom, your top item will be awarded 35 points, and your 25th item will score 11 points.

What is a Pokémon? Thankfully, this is for once a fairly straightforward question to answer. I will accept anything with a Pokédex entry plus anything on this page.

Regional variants: Regional variants will be split out into separate entries. If you're a big fan of Galarian Zapdos but hate Kantoan Zapdos, you're in luck.

Everything else: Aside from that, any Pokémon sharing a dex number will also share an entry in our list. Rotom is Rotom, and Mega and Gigantamax will be rolled up into their parent entry. Feel free to call out that you're voting for something in particular, though. If you love Luchador Pikachu above all else, we will let the world know.

Is Luchador Pikachu really a thing? Would I make something like that up?

Like pretty much every list, I've been using the Marie Kondo method. My #1 definitely sparks the most joy for me.

I'm not really a Pokemon dude so my list is top heavy with generation 1 (the only games I played was Pokémon Blue for Gameboy and Pokémon Snap and I stopped watching the cartoon around Orange Archipelago) and then I went through and picked out cool looking designs to fill things out. Still working on fitting everything into place by my top three has been decided for a very long time.

All done. Many I went through and it was "Oh, that's cute" or "oh, that's badass" but in a way that is either swinging for the fences or doesn't feel like its trying to make everyone's favourite cool Pokémon or in the case of one "oh, that's freaky."

In case you're like me and have trouble narrowing down 1000+ to 25, I'm gonna recommend this page, which throws a handful of Pokémon at you over and over again and asks you to pick a few you like, and eventually it starts figuring out your favourites. The options let you separate out regional forms into their own listings too.

Not the biggest Poke-fan here either, but thanks to the power of the tool tegan linked I was able to sort everything out without forgetting anything.

My wife's reaction to my list was "that's a lot of yellow."

Good point! I also seem to prefer first forms of most pokemons. I like my pocket monsters cute! And mostly useless.

That sucks. Would that site you posted help you come up with a list quickly? It might not be perfect but it would at least be something.
