Don't buy Chivalry 2.

did their best!
The Killing Floor games, too, which until this moment I did not realize were not just generic arena shooter shovelware
gotta say I am stunned, stunned that the president of the publisher that cultivated the playerbase of Chivalry turned out to suck (no i'm not)

Disgusting. Thank you for letting us know.

Same peeps also made Maneater, which hurts more because I really enjoyed that one.
There's always Jaws Unleashed. Which confuses me, because I don't think a leash would fit around a shark's neck. It's kind of a smooth transition from the head to the torso.

Shows you how long it's been since I've watched it. (Really? A shark on a leash? That happened? You're screwin' with me, right?)

I don't really have anything important to add to the topic at hand... obviously. I toyed with the idea of playing Maneater, but I heard it was kind of janky, and that turned me off. Knowing the CEO of the company is supporting that dumb Texas law doesn't exactly sweeten the deal.

Pitting Texas against half of its citizens doesn't sound like a morally justifiable idea, or even a realistically enforceable one. It sounds like people are flooding the hotline with prank calls, as they did with Giuliani's voter fraud nonsense from earlier this year. That coupled with the bad publicity might make Greg Abbot think twice about keeping this bill on the books.

EDIT: You'll find more information on this story here. Cliff Notes: Partner Shipwright is breaking ties with Tripwire, Torn Banner seems to be considering a split, Cliffy B. and Cory Barlog have no direct ties with the company but are not pleased.

Yeah, I feel bad for the folks at Torn Banner. They just had their holiday weekend ruined by someone who did little for their work and now they're paying the price for his assholeness.

That’s good. But the other stuff about the Christofascist band making the music for one of their games is still concerning.

It’s too bad that the Supreme Court Justices who opened the door to all this aren’t vulnerable to free market forces like boycotts and stock prices.

Does "stepping down" mean he's still hired by and performing some level of executive work for the company, or was he fired and severed from it?

Good question. "Stepping down" usually means a voluntary self-demotion or departure rather than a firing. Depending on his ownership stakes in the company, this might be sort of cosmetic as far as whether he's getting cashflow from game purchases?

It can also mean the exact opposite of that (i.e. "stepping down" means he is not getting paid anything), in the situation where being let go comes with some sort of severance and voluntarily leaving does not.

It's just impossible to say without more information.
