I had an odd thought pop into my head. Imagine if one day, maybe tomorrow, astronomers catch sight of a planet from a distant galaxy that has somehow gotten dislodged from it’s orbit and is on a collision course with Earth. The math says the odds are really bleak and a direct hit from the much larger planet is almost assured.
The thing is, it won’t get here for another 537 years. What are the next 537 years on Earth like with a near exact number of known days left until everything dies?
