(He/Him)
I just started a NEW game file in Inscryption. Assuming that I will have further thoughts, and others too, maybe?
Considering what game this is, and how new it still is, I think spoilers all the way are the right thing here.
I made it through the card game one more time. Didn't have a single card that was powerful enough to one-shot an enemy, but rather three, I guess? The praying mantis god, or whatever it's name, the monster that can attack three tiles at once, plus an upgraded talking wolf that hit for six damage, or something. The mantis was sown together from two others, one or two times damage upgraded and I also had the totem that gave it an upgrade after one round. Never used the knife (thankfully, that thing is horrifying.
The real-life videos that I had already seen were great. Also fun, that the guy from the video was now seemingly playing the game, not as a guy in the hut, but as a video game player (so I am even one more layer removed), and commented a few times. Yes, buddy,I didn't want to see the first boss either.
Honestly, this time, I nearly lost to the first boss, mainly because of him turning all your monsters into gold, and clogging up your space. He seems a good bit harder, just for that reason, than the other bosses, who let you keep your monsters. I had already started to run out of cards, and got the awful enemy cards that you can't attack. You can, though, grab one with the hook. After that, it was easy.
So, now I started an actual, new game, the top-down pixel one, and stopped there. Looking forward to more. I love these games.
