That's good to hear. I've been looking forward tot his too, having been a fan of Wanderers. Never did finish it, though.

Well. It's been a while. I apologize for that, I got busy and slacked, but from here on out no more excuses...

When we last left Adol he was about to get into a climatic battle with Duran, the first boss. Was the fight worth the long weight, was it a long, drawn out battle, a clash of titans?

Uh, not especially. I overlevelled, and a few swift stabs to the shin, and Duran died. You can see the swords coming down kind of in the second picture, which is one of his three attacks: he teleports around trying to hit you, shoots a forward fireball, and tries to drop/hit you with swords. He's actually pretty easy regardless. I didn't even have to use the Power Ring.

With that we get our spoils (a long sword, which makes Adol wonder why the shopkeeper couldn't just give him a really good sword, since we're trying to save the mayor and all, but we'll take what we can get). Now we can save Grady.

We head back to the branch where we got the Power Ring, and take a right, instead of a left, which leads us through some blue ogres and the like. And another quick reminder, the screenshots of Adol with a full life bar are just from the end of the game, when I realized I didn't have quite enough pictures for all this, all bosses (with the exception of one) and all dungeons were completed without cheats or that sort of thing.

Taking the right takes us through some blue ogres, and then to a hallway full of slimes, which is actually a fairly decent place to level up, as the slimes give pretty good XP, and you can pick them off one by one, as long as you don't get too close. This time however, I leveled a little early, and didn't need to partake of the slimes here.

After a trip down a waterfall (which looks pretty neat, 'specially on the Genesis) we go through another hallway o' slimes, and down a flight a stairs to reach:

The Scary Door... or, really, the boss door.

And here we have the first real boss: Elfeilu, at least according to a couple FAQs (she has a proper name, but I don't recall it offhand. You'll see it when I eventually get to OiF).

These are her only two attacks, and her pattern is pretty simple. She starts off firing the two waves at you, and while the screen shot makes it look like she fires one low and one high, in reality they start off high, and then move down diagonally, and then forward, so you hop over both of them, and then you can attack her by jumping and slashing. She'll then switch to an obviously telegraphed lightning bolt, where you can just walk to the left to dodge, and repeat the jump and slash, and dodging of lightning, making her an easy boss.

You might see that Adol is in gold armor, and that's because I'm finally using the Power Ring. Elefeilu is actually one of my favorite bosses as you can beat her without having to powerlevel, or sit in a pixel-perfect position. The whole using skill to beat bosses kind of goes out the window in later dungeons.

Adol receives the Sun Statue after killing the boss, and then walks in on Grady and Chester having a little argument. Note that Chester is trying to get these statues, but somehow manages to bypass the boss who happens to be holding said statue, and then... does nothing to Adol, except letting him go. Sadly this isn't the stupidest thing Chester does in the game...

And that, is the end of the first dungeon. Almost all of the rest of the dungeons follow this pattern of mid-boss, real boss, but they all also have drastically different first and second halves of the dungeon.

I also want to apologize for the slight bluriness of the screenshots, the screenshots were all taken as bmps, but the conversion to jpeg looks a bit worse, I'll probably try pngs next and see if they work/aren't too big.

Next time: The obligatory fire dungeon.

Just letting you know your LP is appreciated and looked forward to. However, if you don't have the time, it's all good, bro.

I plan on updating later today, depending on how much work I get done on a take-home midterm, and a class project. Regardless, in another two-ish weeks, Winter break hits, which means I'll have a lot of free time to finish this up and the Oath in Felghana bit up as soon as possible.
