I've never played an Ogre Battle game other than tepidly poking at Tactics, so I'm always curious to see what different things these games do. Thanks for chronicling both your playthroughs! Looking forward to the next update.

A bit late, but my personal theory is that Gothlets are to Goth what cents are to dollars.

Hmm... That would make sense, but it would also be a little disappointing. Anyway, Gerad wins the Gothlet No-Prize, so let's give him a hand!

22. The Scales Tip in Our Favor

Welcome back to Let's Play Ogre Battle, where we've got a date with a lizardman.

Not -- it's not an actual date. That's a figure of speech.

Whereas you could get by on the other floating islands with just a few flying units, the Ruined City is crevaceous. There's technically a way to the enemy base from your own, but you're going halfway around the world to get there.

Which means that our strategy is -- you guessed it -- flying Lich rush.

"But DEDMET has had the spotlight for like the last ten maps!" you cry. Well, good news: here's Serephine heading up Kahran and Lucas with a Hawk Man on flight duty. Lyon is the front-line Ninja. Aside from Lyon, though, this is an all-generic squad. It's of course at the extreme high end of murder-efficiency in spite of that: Serephine not only gives Kahran a fourth shot of magic, but she also shores up DEDMET's one shortcoming: enemy undead. Of DEDMET's allies, only the Cockatris is able to banish the undead, and it does so inconsistently.

This isn't our first time dabbling with the Princess-Lich wombo combo. Aisha is leading Destil, but we haven't really used her, in part due to her unit's high cost. As we approach the endgame with 1.5 million Goth(lets?) burning a hole in our pockets, that's bound to change, but for now, at 7500 Goth, Serephine is leading one of the least expensive squads in our army. Furthermore, I've used two boosting items on Serephine's already above-average LUK to ensure the CROWNs keep rolling in. Hi Eddie

No. No, it is not. In case this is somehow the first island you've found, here's your wake-up call. The town Gerad liberated namedrops Fenril and Organa, though I suppose that's not very helpful in locating that island.

Bert and Olli dig up this "Ring of Magic," which gives... STR+18, INT-7. That's not how magic works!

nosimpleway runs afoul of a Tiamat en route to his liberation. We recruit it rather than waste time running or resources fighting.

Ovelia liberates the next town, which goes on to tell us that Fogel's actually quite nice when you get to know him.

nosimpleway is next up, liberating a town that's wise to our game. They ask us to free Fogel from the Empire's thrall, and, like, why do you think we're here?

Voted "Least Exciting Equipment Name," the ROBE (White Cape) gives +5 Physical and +15 White resistance.

Serephine has fallen behind DEDMET -- that's her Low Sky to his High. She liberates this temple, which gives us an HP-booster.

DEDMET goes on ahead, meeting the enemy ahead of Serephine. DEDMET may struggle against the undead, but he still has an overwhelming advantage against units like this one that have little to no targeted or spread damage.

Gerad liberates the westmost city on the southern island, which points out the critical infrastructure flaw in the floating archipelago. Apparently, it was once a single island, but it was split apart due to something and they don't really know why, nor could they be bothered to build a bridge on the west end.

nosimpleway liberates a grateful town that donates an ALI-booster.

The Fire Shield, it, uh, protects against Fire. Also Physical.

Oh my! A Samurai and a pair of birds manage to find another flaw in DEDMET's overwhelming offense. It's still not enough to stem the dark tide, as DEDMET did manage to get off a single, overwhelming Firewall before becoming petrified. The enemy gets ping-ponged into Serephine, who mops them up, with Kahran evading petrification.

Ovelia pulls a Chariot card, which her front line will appreciate. The town further gives us a Dragon's Jewel, which we'll be trading off at a later date.

Serephine runs up against a land-based unit. The Red Dragons prove not only unexpectedly hardy but also extremely grating. They have this nails-on-chalkboard howl, and it takes every attack in our arsenal to take them down. I might uncharitably point out that Lyon and Lucas aren't pulling their weight. (The same can't be said of the Hawk Man, who is carrying two grown men, a skeleman, and a pretty, pretty Princess.)

Hey, it's Toad! We've been chasing him since very early in the game, but this is our first meeting. I refuse to sell the Dragon's Jewel to him; we have bigger plans for it.

Bert liberates a hidden city, which recommends recruiting dragons. We've got one already this map!

Ovelia is next to liberate. This town blames Fenril for everything that happened to Shiguld, who apparently killed World's Strongest Dragon to prove his strength, which is why he's now a lizardman. This doesn't explain why there are lizardmen in Tactics Ogre, but it does explain why the lizardmen in Tactics Ogre aren't really Fogel-tier.

DEDMET liberates the last city, which tells us the Fire Crest is, like, way cooler than the Zodiac Stones.

Gerad, sitting in the western city on the south, gets ambushed! I'm initially concerned until I realize that even with the level disparity (which is only 2 -- not actually too bad), Gerad's totally got this, largely thanks to the Muse and Shaman.

On the other hand, Team Bert/Olli is not nearly so well-equipped to fight these units. They take some potshots before fleeing. I'm counting on them to liberate the hidden temple nestled in the mountains, which will require dodging or fighting a few enemies.

They pull it off. Well done! We're taught about the four Wind God weapons: Notos, Boleas, Zepyulos, and Euros. These weapons reappear through the rest of the series, though "Boleas" is corrected to "Boreas" in every subsequent appearance.

You dare bring your war to the peace of the Sky Islands? Die!
We dare! Specifically, DEDMET dares.

Fogel is accompanied only by a Tiamat. Getting the Cockatris to target the Tiamat requires manual intervention, because it really loves going after Fogel.

I'm not convinced Fogel is harder than any of the other encounters here.

So you have broken the spell on me... I thank you. To thank you, I will fight alongside you until the Empire is destroyed! I have to repay Rashidi for what he has done for me. And you Rebels without a doubt deserve help. Come! Let us show Rashidi what true power is!
Speaking of true power, you need to reject Fogel in order to receive Zepyulos, and you need Zepyulos (and the other three Wind God weapons) to obtain the Fire Crest.

But the Fire Crest doesn't actually do anything, and Zepyulos is a STR+15 Black weapon. We'll take Fogel...

...is what I would say if he gave me any choice in the matter, but he joins without a prompt. Rude!

There's some confusion over what this city is named, but whatever it's called, it's liberated.

Join us next time for our exciting plot twist!

Your guess is as good as mine! It never shows back up in the series.

I may have mentioned it before, but you get a bonus stage if you enter your name as FIRESEAL.

Welcome back!

Mogri has already shown you what Fort Allamoot is all about, so this is a relatively easy update for moi.

Fort Allamoot is a large map with large lakes cutting it in half. The majority of the enemy is going to move up through the mountains (past Esquintora) up near Stun Creek. Most of the enemy aren't actually going to move through Stun Creek (opting instead to take the road east across the lake towards Balfaht) so plan to cut off most of the enemy there. Stationing some flying units/Mountain units near Esquintora is a decent plan.

The flying units will tend to cut through Tekshigahve so intercept them there (unless you really want some XP for your Opinion Leader).

If you are running a Water unit (I'm obviously not) they can be pretty strong here, so if you were looking to make some Krakens work...

As above.

Some units will sneak around the back, but this shouldn't be a big issue.

While I haven't tested this, it feels like this map has a very short day/night cycle. Until you can fend off the initial wave and start liberating towns. Expect a hit from to your pocketbook after the first day/night cycle.

I only need one game!

DRAGON Ring = STR + 6, Fire Defense + 14 (Rating: 2/5).

SNOW CAPE = Physical Defense + 11, Cold Defense + 16 (Rating: 2/5).

I'm collecting a number of these items (including another HP from a later enemy); not sure if I should just dump them on MOGRI or not.

We swing up to the hidden town of Pirallel to grab this Star Fragment. We can sell it for a lot of Gothlet after this map is completed.

Battle BUGLE = STR + 2, Physical Defense + 2 (Rating: 0/5).

We have CANOPUS swing by and grab the Chaos Gate to the last Floating Island; Mogri just played this map!

THUNDER Ring = STR + 3, Lightning + 15 (Rating: 1/5).

You can collect level 17 Tiamats while running around the deserts (as well as Krakens from the ocean and Red Dragons from the mountains) if you want them. They have a pretty strong back row attack if you're struggling building Liches. I collect a pair, although I'm not sure if I'm going to use them (I already have Undead Dragons, which although arguably worse, fill a similar role).

This is the third? Fourth? Random TERMITES I've gotten? Why can't these be CROWNs!?

I celebrate getting another CROWN by getting a World tarot on the 2nd-last city. Can't complain with giving everyone 2 extra HP tho.

DRAGON Spear = STR + 7 (Rating: 2/5).

Time to challenge the boss!

It turns out my hit-all Fire attack is better than theirs.

Horray!

We still have that Star Fragment taking up space in our very limited inventory, so we send BOWIE to the hidden town of Heskalansa to sell it.

This is a heckava lot of Goth, but there is actually an item you can get called THE SAGA in this map that sells for *twice* as much. The catch? You need to bring the TOME from a previous map, you need to liberate the towns in a particular order, and you need a dismal Reputation to even start the quest. No thanks on this game, but if you're interested in the paperclip-to-house trading chain, you can learn more here.

CROWN TIME!

We've got a number of potential candidates to turn into Princesses, as follows:

MIMI is a random Muse in LANS's army. As the Eaglemans only get two attacks, getting a third (and giving LANS a fourth) would probably be the largest power-boost to a single Army.

PUTI (who is with TRISTAN) is the 2nd biggest army boost, as there is already a trio of triple attackers in the front row. PUTI has a lower INT than MIMI however, so it would be the weakest Princess in my army.

NORAN, with KAUTS's army, is in between the two, but would be helping boost a future Seraphim with an additional attack.

EUNICE has been flying around with CANOPUS. I like this unit a little more than LANS (which fills a similar role) but it's pretty comparable.

Finally, we can make an even more ridiculous unit by turning NORN into a Princess. I mean, just look at this fucking unit. It has DEBONAIR, SLUST, FENRIL and RAUNY it costs like, 25,000 goth PER DAY because these units don't come out for pennies. This is like, twice the cost of ANY OTHER UNIT I HAVE.

I'm going to let our audience pick this one. Who do you like folks?

We'll turn someone into royalty at the end of next map (so I can play ahead!). Join us next time for, "The Gradom Rider," or, "THIS GAME IS REALLY DRAGON!"

I'm tempted to say Norn just to exile your new princess to the unit that almost costs too much to deploy, but instead I'll vote the RAW POWER of giving it to Mimi.

23. Villainous

Welcome back to Let's Play Ogre Battle. Did you miss us?

Ovelia has decided to go it solo. This is like that sequence in Revenge of the Sith, but with level 4 Gryphons taking the place of younglings.

Not pictured: many attempts of Ovelia failing to kill anything in the back row. She gets one shot of Icecloud back there, and it does a bit better than 50 damage, which isn't even enough to kill a monster this weak. Well, it is an AOE...

And, just like that, a whole game's worth of work goes down the drain.

Actually, though, I lost that save, and Ovelia got evil killing Dragons, not Gryphons. Please excuse the historical revisionism.

We're off to Antajyl next.

Eddie already covered this map, but you could be forgiven for forgetting. Nearly everything of interest is above the mountain range.

We have a secondary goal this time around: we need to tank our reputation. Shouldn't be hard, right? Just stop doing all of that stuff we've been doing all game to stay in the nice-nice.

Among other things, this means that we don't have to care who liberates. Welcome to the Lich Show, starring like five Liches and who knows how many Princesses at this point.

This particular town is allied with the demons and was sealed up along with Galf in the ancient Ogre Battle. They're bound up and forbidden from crossing the mountains.

Haha, good luck with that.

The enemy is fielding Vampires, which might be threatening to someone who's not DEDMET. He's taken the central city, and he'll stay there until we're ready to face Galf.

Ah, shoot. ABORT

We can't beat this squad without Tarot, but they also can't touch us, so we'll be doing this dance for days.

Naval gets in on the liberation action. The town warns us against attacking Galf at night. I doubt DEDMET cares.

DEDMET is handling the entire enemy army.

Hey, that's what we like to see! Because this map is almost entirely hidden cities, our reputation isn't tanking the way we'd like. We have other means of dropping reputation if it comes to that.

Star of "Dulude, Where's My Car?"
He had mastered the ways of white magic, and wanted greater power. Black magic. The other mages were afraid of his power, and sealed it into a gem. No one knows what happened to Dulude after he lost his power. The High Knights replaced him with another mage, and restored the number to 12. The gem which contains Dulude's power, the Black Diamond, not only gives its owner incredible power, but allows him to make pacts with demons.
This sounds like the sort of thing we're going to need in order to recruit Galf, but I think Rashidi already has it.

A pack of ruffians bypasses DEDMET but is unable to penetrate the wall of Generals.

Here's our backup plan for tanking reputation. I think we can also do it by just waiting on the map for a few weeks (and line our pockets in the process), but this is quicker.

Hey, what's this? An enemy Lich? Too bad all our Generals have White-elemental weapons!

The other advantage of this approach is that I get a lot of tarot draws. Many of the "bad" tarot cards don't matter much to a team who doesn't want reputation.

With our reputation zeroed out, it's time to confront Galf.
I owe nothing to Rashidi, but he promised me that stone if I kill you for him. With that, I can easily break the bonds that hold me here! Once I get out of here, regaining the power I had will be easy... Even without the power I once had, defeating you will be child's play!

Rocks fall, but nobody dies. Can you guess why Serephine is leading the charge here??

Also, yes, I totally fought him at night. It wasn't really by design, though.

I have nothing against you... How about we form a little bargain? You give me that sword, Brunhild! In exchange, I will help you in your battle. Not a bad battle, don't you think? We're actually a lot alike, and it looks like you boys will be having a lot of fun down the road!

If you decline:
But don't think that this is the end! As long as there are people like Rashidi in the world, the power of the dark will remain! As long as there are people like Rashidi around, the wars will never end!

But we didn't come this far to throw in the towel now.

Galf leads a pair of Werewolves and a pair of Phantoms. As a Devil, he retains the Meteor he used against us. Backing that Meteor is a very respectable 177 INT, which I think beats everyone but DEDMET, who has 235. (DEDMET is pretty busted, but he's also level 26 now.)

I can't wait to see what fun consequences await us after this very good decision!

Shit, what year is it again?

Welcome back! Mogri already knocked this stage down, so we'll knock this one out quickly.

Shiguld, the Ruined City, is the largest gloating island map, litterred with a large number of towns. It's not as precarious a map as Shangrila in terms of threatening to dump a unit that loses over the edge however with a few exceptions.

The nature of the map means that any army that cannot fly needs to walk an awkward route around the right side of the map to get to most places. As you would expect, many of the enemy armies are going to beeline across the map to your base so protecting that is a priority. If you use your own flying units (hopefully with a pair of evil ones to soak up experience) you can aim to take Louenz and Macald, letting you take your time picking off all the rest of the towns.

We spread out and get to work.

If you are looking for fairly high level dragons, you've come to the right place. As large units they're going to be underwhelming but if you've been ignoring them (but want to raise some high level ones) this as good a place as any to pick them up. The only ones likely worth recruiting are the Gold Dragons however as you'd need to spend an Undead Ring to upgrade the Tiamats, and the Red Dragon II's need to be coddled to keep them at the right Alignment to upgrade to Salamanders.

Ring of PROTECTion = INT+ 5, Physical Defense + 12, White Defense + 14. Perfect for low ALI magic users. Rating: 5/5.

Sword of HEROES = STR +11. Rating: 3/5.

ICE Scimitar = STR +3, Ice attack. Rating: 1/5.

As predicted, enemy armies gun for MOGRI (or more specifically, our base).

All the non-flying armies meanwhile mash up on the right-side of the map.

Fighting an enemy Monk reminds me...

I keep forgetting to upgrade my Shaman's once they hit level 18.

We grab the Dragon's Jewel to trade it later.

At this point in the game, you can really get hit by army expenses if you find yourself unable to liberate towns fast enough. We're still ok (and have a high enough Reputation that we could milk some funds if we needed to) but a good reminder for any players that deploying those Dragoons and such you've been collecting can take a big bite out of your wallet.

Speaking of Dragoons, we deploy NORN's unit (with SLUST and FENRIL) to go battle the boss because why not? It doesn't trigger any special conversations however.

Obligatory forgot-to-upgrade the Shaman moment.

Toad appears to try and buy our Dragon's Jewel but this thing is priceless! By that I mean we're still trading it later. So we tell Toad to go jump off a cliff.

We level NORN and company to ensure that they cost even more to deploy later.

This is our third MERCHANT item. I thought about waiting until we collect a million gil (to maximize our item purchases), but we might use this earlier as we can use a second one later. I'll think about it.

We're not likely going to use Tiger Mans (they are simply inferior to Werewolfs and Paladins on account of only having two attacks) but we can use this to recruit one if we wish.

MOGRI manages to snag a level while defending the base, which is welcome. He is in a great position on most maps, being slightly lower level than the enemy, but with enough raw strength to win most fights. This is ideal for raising a high ALI leader.

Everything is liberated (and I don't want to pay tribute on NORN's unit) so let's recruit us a third dragoon.

FOGEL is protected by a beefy Tiamat and is no slouch in the HP department even with a trio of very strong units attacking him. I pull out a spare Emperor Tarot as tribute is coming pretty soon.

Stabbed!

Horray!

We immediately re-enter the stage to grab this DEMON from the Town of Mupan. We can of course trade this for an UNDEAD staff.

Great? It sells for 120,500 Goth so that ain't nothing.

Jackpot! That's one more Lich.

I also trade that DEMON in for a STAFF.

MUSASHI is next in line for eternal undeath, so he pops the ring on.

Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner CBE, also known as STING gets the Undead STAFF to become out newest Mage.

The last Shaman I forgot to promote I swear!

I use the CROWN we found last map to turn MIMI into royalty. I will forget to make her the leader tho!

FOGEL's army comes as is. There is no striking reason to, but I like putting him together with his Dragoon buddies.

NORN's unit loses their dragoons and gains a Gold Dragon. This is significantly weakening the unit, but at least its cost is now reasonable.

FENRIL leads our new Dragoon army with a back-row Tiamat. Ideally I would replace this dragon and NORN's dragon with some better units; ideally I should just recruit some powerful promoted units with our generals TRISTAN and/or DEBONAIR. I will put that off for another map or two however as I'm lazy.

And that is a New Year's wrap! Join us next time for The Assassin, or, "I DON'T LIKE SAND!"

Welcome back!

I've spoken with Mogri and he's where many who play this game get: they're kind of done. At this point of the game--where you are about 75% finished--your units are mostly promoted and aside from the occasional twist, maps play out pretty similar. A lot of players get burned out here, so no shame!

Obviously I am too far in to provide an "evil" ending, but I'll recap any changes that a low-ALI game would see at the end of each map.

As a giant desert, units with the Mountain movement type or those that can fly have an advantage to moving around this map. Sending your units to liberate and defend the cities around the central oasis is the strategy.

KUKAI Rod: STR +8, White attack. Rating: 4/5.

While slaughtering some enemies, I remember that I have a Demon, Dustin, that should be able to promote as he is level 22 (well over the level 20 requirement).

Dustin can't however, and the reason is that while his ALI is perfectly fine (i.e. he doesn't have any), his CHA is too low. Devils require a CHA or 50 or above, which is challenging for many evil units as ALI and CHA tend to rise and fall together.

We're sitting on a handful of stat-changing items however, so 46 is close enough to 50 that only one CHA item (which provides 5-10 CHA) is enough.

We've seen Meteor before, and it's still pretty great, even if Devils only get to use it once.

"They have forgotten that they were once knights, and have been robbing people."

"Prochon hates that fact, and is said to be supported by Endora."

"Why would someone like that wish to assassinate King Ofays and help the Empire. I don't know why, but I do know that we don't want someone like that living around here!"

DRAGON Ring: STR+ 6, Fire Defense + 14. Rating: 2/5.

THUNDER Spear: STR +9, Thunder Attack. Rating: 2/5.

"Who is Gizolfy? Why, he's only the only the greatest mage on the continent! He lives far to the east of here, in the city of Alibard."

While I've been doing my best to liberate towns quickly, a Sun Tarot card nets us another small hit to our expenses. We're still plenty fine, but this map doesn't have that many towns so you don't want to linger here.

Of all the units to worry about, this Shaman + Zombie Dragon unit is the worst, again not because it's *hard* to defeat, but because the Shaman's will chow up Undead units while hitting your "good" units with an ALI penalty thanks to being holy ladies and to being relatively low level compared to what your units are probably packing.

With a mere three cities left to liberate, we draw a World Tarot. Not ideal, but we'll see what we can get.

It's about this point that I realize that while I turned MIMI into a princess last update, we forgot to make her the leader. While Princesses would be good with their lone White hit-all attack, they only confer the +1 to all attacks if they're leading the army, so sorry LANS.

Some flying units sneak to our base, but MOGRI is still there, feet planted and ready to fight.

I did, once again, miss a MONK upgrade, but it's the last one I swear! Probably!

All units INT +1

"He is a traitor who assassinated his king, Ofays, and joined the Empire."

All units INT +1, ALI -2

"It is said that there was originally 3 White Mages... I wonder if that means that there is also a 13th Zodiac Stone somewhere?"

(Man we don't even have one Zodiac Stone let alone thirteen...)

One unit that is underperforming (not surprisingly, sitting next to multiple units rocking a Lich or a Princess) is my Doll Master + Zombie Dragon combo. The issue is that our Doll Master is very vulnerable to ranged attacks, even if the dragons are beefy enough to tank melee hits. I would like to turn the Doll Master into a Dragon Master, but his ALI is much too high to do so.

"... but he's hiding somewhere from Prochon. Please finish Prochon off and restore peace to our land!"

BOLT ORB: STR+ 6, Lightning Defense + 17. Rating: 2/5.

All units STR -1, INT +1, ALI -2.

That's the last city to liberate on the map, so overall a bit of a bust!

"Now it's being used as an Imperial Base."

Speaking of Imperial Base...

"You will never know the feeling of only being allowed to live in the dark! Listen! History is not made by foolish heroes like yourselves! We ninjas are the ones who have shaped history! And by killing you now, my name will be placed in the history books!"

Prochon is himself a pretty strong unit, rocking both a hit-all attack and great AGI.

His army tho is all basic Ninjas, and while they have some ability to focus fire and dodge attacks, they are not winning this combat.

Horray!

Following our victory, we reenter the map and go pay Gizolfy the Wizard a visit up in Aliabard.

"It seems that you have been acknowledged as a True Hero, MOGRI! In that case, I must give you this 'Gem of Doun'. A recurrence of the Ogre Battle must be avoided at any cost. That is your destiny.

The DOUN GEM is one of the items needed to get one of the items needed to get a whole host of items needed to get the best ending. So if you want to get the best ending, get this item!

For those bad boys and girls out there with a bad reputation, you can get an ORC FUR from Kahrngarn. It sells for 133,000 Goth.

Our next step is to head back to Pogrom Forest to return the SILVER Boltorano gave us about half a game ago.

"Please keep it, and also take this 'Old Orb'. Take these two gems to the Witch Tarut in the town of Ramoto on the Ryhan Sea. If you take these to Tarut, a whole new door will be opened on your life. May the gods walk with you!"

We haven't been tot he Ryhan Sea yet, but that is coming up soon. Next map in fact!

Before we end this update, I wanted to go a quick scan of units that may/will promote so we can keep an eye out of them.

YUSHIS the Cherubim is one level away (22) from being able to promote into Seraphim, the most powerful Angel unit. They require a CHA of 70 and an ALI of 80, which she is above so this shouldn't be a problem.

Some of the other Cherubims we've got are fine on stats, but are still three levels away. I will see if I can use these gals more.

Until our other Demon, RASCAL has a tanked CHA so is ineligible to promote to a Devil. I'm considering buying some CHA items for him (through a MERCHANT item) to pump his CHA high enough as I don't want to raise another Demon.

GILBERT has been too nice, and his ALI is waaaay to high to turn him into a Beast Master (which requires an ALI of no more than 50). I'm thinking of turning him into a Paladin. Any thoughts?

MILANI the Gold Dragon is a full five (5!) levels from being able to promote into a Platinum Dragon, but its ALI is good (70+) so that is some relief.

I really don't know what to do with JACK. He turned into a Doll Master well before his ALI spiked to the moon. I just haven't had many opportunities to kill weaker units with him, and with his ALI so high that makes it much more difficult to lower. I could turn him into a PALADIN too although I would miss the double Acid attack. Any thoughts on him too?

Well that's out update for today! Join us next time for Final Paradise, or, "A Dandy Trip to the Sea!"

24. Steamroll to Victory

I'm happy to have Eddie driving this LP to the finish line. I wouldn't have it any other way. That said, there's a new Black Queen in town, and Ovelia feels like marching.

We've got a stop to make before we continue.

That's not why we're here...

If you decline, she launches into a tutorial about the Glass Pumpkin.

Hey, there we go. You get the Glass Pumpkin either way.

Deneb comes with a pair of Pumpkins. We have a couple Pumpkin+ in our inventory, so they quickly become a pair of Halloweens that we'll never field. Deneb herself is one of the better candidates for a Royal Crown if you get her early on, but at this point, she's a bit behind the times. When we find our eighth Crown, I'm sure she'll get promoted. As for the gourd-heads, their attack halves the health of whatever they hit, which is okay but not amazing. Their promotion takes them from one attack per combat to two, which is... twice as good, roughly.

With Deneb in the party, we now have the complete set of special characters.

Time to take on the desert stage.

One more item of business, though: Norn is now in charge of DEDMET's unit. Say goodbye to our Tigerman.

I start the map by sending Norn straight to the boss.

Yeah. It didn't take long.

Here's DEDMET's damage. Remember, he gets to do this four times per combat. Norn, who didn't come in at full health, doesn't survive this battle but she's not permadead

And that's a wrap! I think DEDMET broke a sweat, though -- probably we need to move our Cockatris to the front row to make room for Destil.

Please remember to vote on Eddie's army! He's still making interesting decisions in his half of the LP.

Welcome back! After a lifetime (?) of being good, we're going to finally close in on the random collect-a-thon needed to get the best ending!

I turn Gilbert into a Samurai Master to try and give this unit a little more oomph. I kind of regret it this map as a single Iainuki is good but not great. I'm not sure if putting him up front with his beast friends is a good idea.

JACK is behind two solid walls known as Zombie Dragons, so I turn him into a Paladin. Despite being theoretically undead, Zombie Dragons get healed just fine.

In we go!

The Rhyan Sea is not a complicated map in a strategy sense. There are plenty of towns surrounding the enemy base that, once captured, will draw enemies to you. Very few of the enemy armies fly as well, so while you do need to park someone at your base, you don't need to worry about protecting all your towns as long as you push forward as the terrain is going to naturally funnel the enemy to you.

But there are two things complications. The first is that nearly all of the enemies on this map are high ALI units that include Cleric and Angel type enemies that come with an additional ALI hit when killed. Undead are going to get massacred in here and your low ALI units are probably going to soak some pretty strong damage as well.

The enemy units are fairly high level (20-21) and I have a bunch of level 19 high ALI units so I'm going to use them as it best allows my forces to sweep the map and capture towns. Daily unit upkeep remains quite troublesome, so capturing cities ASAP is important.

The second thing is that capturing any of the surrounding cities of Jaubala, Skauten, Raitagam or Dantcaste will draw enemy armies, so if you rush them make sure you can protect them.

As above, I decided to field almost exclusively high ALI units, with the exception of WARREN who I keep to guard the base. MOGRI could use a level or two so I bring him up to get a bit of experience.

I'm tired of showing off junky treasure (spoiler: this armour sucks and I found TWO OF THEM on this dumb map) so unless I find something notable, I'm going to start skipping these. Fire Emblem level ups they ain't!

"He declares a tax for the blessings of the gods', a tax for a tribute to the gods... We all know that he is using that money to stuff his own face!"

(No political commentary on this map, no sir!)

(This Randals fellow is a frequent target of conversation on this map, as we'll see.)

"... but no one has ever seen him in meditation even once!"

"He claims to be a man of the temples, and yet he uses black magic..."

As the first night falls, we start getting the first sightings of the enemy armies. They spread out a lot on this map initially, but like most maps you'll be fine once you start capturing cities near the enemy base.

You are not likely to find the neutral water-based Nixies and Krakens you can find in the oceans and rivers on this map, but you'll probably run into plenty of Pixies in the mountains that are all over the middle of this map. These ladies are level 20 and can immediately upgrade to Sylphs should you want to pick up any. I end up getting four for the heck of it (whether I use them or not...).

Sylphs in the rear have a single use of a hit-all attack called Missile. It's White element, so hit pretty hard. They're not quite as good as Seraphims (the highest rank of Angels) but they're much easier to get (as above, I grabbed four casually running around) as they don't have the ALI and CHA requirements.

(This enemy unit of course if decimated once my LICH gets his turn.)

I've got all my Princesses out in full force, so most of these fights aren't even close.

"He declares a tax 'for the blessings of the gods', a tax 'for a tribute to the gods'... Every time he opens his mouth it's 'Money, money money!' He acts like a merchant!"

(Smart man!)

Of all of the units, this one has the potential for trouble. It's not going to dish out a lot of damage, but the Gold Dragons behind a Monk means that they can take a lot of punishment. Some of my units literally just bounce off this one (not this one as it has a Princess).

"She's said to be over 100 years old. With all those wrinkles, I'm not surprised!"

(Rude.)

MOGRI fights probably the wore unit on the map. While a pair of Paladins up front isn't shabby, the one at the rear is a poor healer and the Valkyries aren't even upgraded.

Meanwhile, a Phantom ruins my Red Dragon II's day. While my Doll Master's Acid will wreck their rear line, I risk getting decimated by their magic beforehand. I decide to burn a World Tarot in order to turn this combat toward a "win."

"He takes advantage of people's weakness of religion to make himself rich! It's said that only those who believe are saved..."

(You know, not for nothing, but as--like Dungeons and Dragons--there is empirical proof gods exist right? Appealing to religion must take on a much different meaning...)

One of my Red Dragon II's has his ALI drop below Salamander-worthy levels. He's still two levels away and needs at least an ALI of 45, so I toss one of my spare ALI up items at him. We'll see if can keep him stable until then.

"If that is true, it could damage the reputation of all of the temples on the continent!"

With our aggressive push, the daily expense loss is kept to a minimum. It's at this stage of the game where drawing Moon Tarot cards can be quite helpful early (while Sun Tarots can be punishing.

"She says that from the sky, that the Ogre Ba Battle is coming again... Please... Y You want to stay away from nut-cases like that... Please... You want to stay away from nut-cases like that..."

(Apologies as I might have messed up the text here; this is one of the few text boxes that autoscrolls, making it difficult to screenshot...)

"As a matter of fact, that man Boltorano in Alagoyas used to say the same thing... Where's Alagoyas? Far to the east, in the Zenobia District."

(While I'll get into it more later, this is one of the scattered clues about finding the items needed to get the best ending.)

Well for at least one holy man, this area is soon going to be known as... (puts on sunglasses)... Paradise lLost!

"He declares a tax 'for the blessings of the gods', a tax 'for a tribute to the gods'... His very existence is a blasphemy! Please do something about him!"

Well since you asked nicely, I BOOTS up Warren to go take on the boss as there is no special interaction with any of my units.

"D... do you th... think that you can... defeat the Great Randals> If you k... k... kill me, Rashidi will be very displeased! Ahhhh! Luvalon!!! How could you leave at a time like this?!!"

RANDLES here is a Dandy, a very VERY powerful enemy that is the same class as Baron Apros we fight back at the City of Malano. They get three random Black-aligned attacks, which could be a single target Nightmare, but can also be a hit-all Phantom or Meteor. Even units with high Black defense will take a pounding.

Save yourself the trouble and just bust out a World Tarot. RANDLES defenses are not great, so while he hits like a truck, he won't last long if you can survive his attacks.

He goes down as he cannot survive my attacks.

HORRAY!

As I've taken the lead of this LP, I thought I would at least show you that you can expect pretty big rewards for beating maps by this point.

As per earlier, it is easy to get Sylphs as the Pixies you can find in the mountains can instantly upgrade. I get a fourth running around this map later; I might see if I can find some spots in my armies to fit them in.

If you've been following along this LP, you've been following the path of the gods and can getting close to the last piece in a chain of items needed to get a whole other chain of items. For reference, here is the steps leading up to this:

1) Get the SILVER from the monk Boltorano in Pogrom Forest upon finishing that stage. He is in the town of Para.
2) After beating the Dalmuhd Desert stage, get the DOUN GEM from Gizolfi from the hidden town of Alibard.
3) Go back and visit Boltorano. He will trade the SILVER for the ORB.
4) Now visit the witch Tarut in the town of Ramoto (the one on the far right that is on its own island), as this LP is about to do!

You need a high reputation to start this quest, but as far as I know you don't need to strictly worry about it once you get the SILVER. As the best ending does require recruiting a lot of characters that DO care about reputation, it's best to keep it high tho.

This rest of this update is flying around the whole world; if you're like me, you've kept a low-level flying unit like BOWIE (whom has not cracked level 2) here for this purpose as you'll need to deploy them a dozen or so times. If you don't, I recommend making as cheap a flying unit as you can exclusively for this part.

"Just as Fellana predicted, you, MOGRI, have been declared a True Hero. Therefore, I must give you this 'Gem of Truth'. take all 3 Gems of Gellana to her shrine."

If you visited Fellana before, you know where that is. If not, it's of course on a place fitting for a goddess.

"I know that you are walking the path of good. The gods all smile upon you. I know that you have the power to calm this troubled world. However, if that peace does not last then all is lost.

"If you can do that, then lasting peace may be possible. Please take this. It's the Tablet of Yaru. This tablet will prove to all that you are heirs to the Stones of the Zodiac. Good luck."

Well, if there is anyone qualified to find a bunch of Zodiac Stones, I guess it would be me!

Presenting...

One of the Dullest Sidequests in Video Games

Do you like easter egg hunts?
Then you'll love collecting the 12 zodiac stones in this game!

These stones, for the most part, are scattered around the previous maps in temples. I say "for the most part" as only the majority are found in temples; some are found in towns for whatever reason. There isn't even a strict "one per stage" rule, as technically one stage breaks this. And that stage requires you to have done a specific sidequest there or you are S.O.L.

Did I mention that there is *zero* hints provided (as far as I know) where these stones are?

If there is one saving grace, there is no requirement to collect these stones in any particular order. I went generally by the order of stages we completed, but it's up to you.

NOTE: you'll need a full dozen empty inventory spaces to collect all of these, so if you've got a bunch of junk weapons and armour sitting around you may wish to sell them. Auto-sorting your items is also a good idea!

(God bless internet guides!)

I will run through them all, before presenting a guide at the end of this update.

First, we start with the temple in the middle of this stage.

"Please let me give you this Stone of the Zodiac, the Sapphire!"

(Nearly all of these conversations with guy and his eleven identical twin brothers so I will spare you most of them.)

Next stop is Lake Jannenia. We want to visit the temple located southeast of the enemy base in the mountains.

This is the strangest looking topaz I think I've ever seen...

Slums of Zenobia is next, in the temple northwest of your base.

In Island Avalon, we want the temple in the middle of the stage's volcanoes.

For the next one, we want to make a quick pit-stop on the floating island of Organa and visit the temple in the southeast corner of the map.

"Then I have something to give you! Please tke this Stone of the Zodiac, the Pearl! Huh? Where did it go?"

Fans of ridiculous prison tropes will know where this is going, but MOGRI needs a hand.

We head to Diaspola and visit Somyul, which you may remember is the town where (if you had a high ALI and Reputation) you helped a little girl get over the death of her dad by getting her a BEEHIVE. Hope you did that, because if not your search for all 12 stones is going to end here!

And thus ends MOGRI's quest for the 12 sacred Zodiac Stones.

W-wait that didn't happen...

"Ouch! Hey, what's this? Hey! There's a pretty rock in here! What is it? Well, I don't need it, though. Here! You take it!"

While we're here, I take the opportunity to stock up on curatives and BOOTS. The latter are super useful, so I recommend grabbing 10-20.

Our last stop on this stage is in the hidden town of Ajan (the one in the mountains); remember when I said that one stage technically had two Zodiac stones, and not all of them are in temples?

Alright, the rest are dull. Next is Muspelm to visit the temple on the southwest bottom of the stage.

The hidden town of Sanbelna in the City of Malano has our next stone. It's kind of in the middle on the east side of the stage.

Our next stone is in a temple in The Tundra, located near the top of the map near the enemy base.

The floating Ruined City has a hidden temple in the middle of the mountains where our next stone is.

The only temple on Dalmud Desert holds our next prize.

The Ryhan Sea the map we just completed, has a temple in the mountains southeast of your base, where the game's translators copied/pasted into that message about the Opal Zodiac Stone from earlier.

I forgot to grab this sword when I was visiting the Witch Tarut earlier. If you have a high Reputation, you can get a SIGMUND sword from the town of Harmhella. It's a Lightning aligned weapon that provides STR +19, which is no joke. It easily one of the best weapons in the game (5/5) so pick it up! If your rep is low, you'll get a COIN that sells for 133k Goth.

And that's our hunt! As a recap, here they are in Inventory order (i.e. how they will be auto-sorted to make sure you've catched them all.

Interestingly, the stones chosen appear to correspond to more modern "calendar" months rather than zodiac stones. Emeralds for example, are for May birthdates (and are the fifth stone on the list) but per the Zodaic would represent Cancers (June 22 to July 22). Not quite sure why they chosen calendar dates!
  1. GARNET (January): Slums of Zenobia, Roshian Temple
  2. AMETHYST (February): Dalmuhd Desert, Roshian Temple
  3. AQUA (March): Diaspola, Town of Ajan.
  4. DIAMOND (April): Shuguld, Roshian Temple
  5. EMERALD (May): Island Avalon, Roshian Temple
  6. PEARL (June): Organa, Roshian Temple, then visit Posha at the town of Somyul on Diaspola.
  7. RUBY (July): City of Malano, Town of Sanbelna.
  8. PERIDOT (August): Muspelm, Roshian Temple
  9. SAPPHIRE (September): Shangrila, Roshian Temple
  10. OPAL (October): Lake Jannenia, Roshian Temple
  11. TOPAZ (November): Ryhan Sea, Roshian Temple
  12. TURQUOISE (December): The Tundra, Roshian Temple

We've collected almost everything we need for the best ending, but two items remain with five maps remaining. Look forward to it!

Next time: Separation, or "FOR THE QUEEN!"

25. The Continuing Adventures of DEDMET

Those words Eddie wrote? That is why I am very happy to have him at the helm. I do not have the patience for the World ending, walkthrough or no.

This is it! This is the very last paradise.

As promised, Destil is lending DEDMET a hand. A withered, skeletal hand, but a hand nonetheless. This is another vaguely holy-themed stage, and the pixies' MISSLE (sic) hits the lich duo hard on their White weakness.

The good news is that most of the enemies can't make that claim. The less good news is that there are a lot of enemies on this stage, even blitzing straight to the boss. I think I could've avoided a lot of them if I'd taken an indirect route.

That depends: how many Randals are we talking?

Just the one?

The Black-elemental METEOR means Norn dies for the second time in as many boss fights, but Destil and DEDMET aren't impressed.

Ogre Battle is breezy when you don't bother liberating towns!

At least they went with some sort of theme in the English version... in the Japanese version, the stones were Black Agate, Yellow Beryl, Lapis Lazuli, Red Amber, Cross Stone, Onyx, Turquoise, Malachite, Sardonyx, Amethyst, and Carbuncle. If anyone can make any sense out of that selection, I'd like to see it.

Cross Stone might be staurolite, and barnacles are also a type of quartz formation.

E: it's a list of semi-precious gemstones and rocks that are typically used in modern mysticism.

Welcome back! We are only five updates away from finishing this game. Let's start the countdown!

Eyeing those Sylph's we picked up last scene, the weak link in my army is MILANI the Gold Dragon, who has been slumming with DEBONAIR (along with RAUNY and NORN). At level 19 (to the rest of the party's level 21) he would need 5 more levels to promote.

Large units are generally poor without some sort of specialized purpose, so we're doing DEBONAIR no favours by keeping him chained to this underleveled dragon. I decide adding the two Sylph's to his unit would give it a nice little boost. That leaves me with too many back row units however, so one of them--I decide RAUNY the Muse--needs to join up with a different army so I can bring in a front-row fighter.

I swap RAUNY the Muse into TRISTAN's army for PIZZA the Paladin. For the loss of three decent front row attacks, the unit gains another two hit-all attacks. Pretty good!

DEBONAIR'S unit keeps the same number of hit-all attacks (albeit the Sylph's MISSILE is more powerful than a single Muse THUNDER attack) but gets a little more beef up front. All in all, a win for this army too.

Let's go!

Fort Shulamana is one of the denser maps we've encountered in some time, and relatively straight-forward. The big thing to note is that the enemy armies that can fly--which is a good portion of them--have little in their way between the enemy base, Shulamana, and your base as no roads (or towns) intersect neatly. The mountain terrain is also going to hamper many of your own units.

The enemy is not going to take most town liberation without sending at least one unit to try and reclaim the city, so my recommendation if you're not worried about cash is to push for Selloway, Ochiwalong, Mafe Kim and Halobon. Keep one unit available to guard your base with your Opinion Leader, and if you decide the liberate the nearby towns to your start (Reideberg and Brawayo) keep a unit at Reideberg and a close eye in case any flying unit swerves towards Brawayo. Reideberg is particularly important because if an enemy unit goes to heal somewhere after bouncing off your base, it will head there.

(I don't do this and actually end up having to reload once when I leave Reideberg open for a flying enemy unit MOGRI defeated to get recaptured. Whoops!)

There is a notable amount of units that have undead in them, so bring Monks + White weapons.

(I swear they were calling them "Devas" previously but I'm too lazy to check.)

"They are sure to become a formidable enemy."

Samurai and Knights (promoted or not) are actually totally cool to fight, as neither as threatening as a powerful hit-all attack.

"I had heard that she died in the war 25 years ago, but apparently that wasn't so. Everyone now says that the Queen is being held by General Previa in Fort Shulamana."

(Shulamana is the enemy base this scene in case you didn't carefully read the map carefully.)

I send WARREN (who is technically a "low sky" unit because of the Devil in his ranks) out to scout ahead; you can see the large amount of flying units charging in slightly different directions towards my base. I do my best to intercept some but many get through.

"But thanks to all of these volcanoes, this has become a very warm, comfortable place to live.

At least, it would be if the Empire weren't here..."

One of the more annoying unit pairs a Mage with four Phantoms. But this provides a small opportunity...

Last map, one of my Red Dragon II's, YUPITEL, was dangerously low on ALI, and risked dipping too low to evolve into a Salamander once they hit level 23. Munching on an undead unit is just what he needs. I start moving the army in position to intercept.

"It's not much, but please take this 'Ivory Godess'. May the gods follow you always!"

This is just another sell-able item, but I won't complain.

"Ah, the young are always hot-blooded and over-confident of their own power... Be sure not to waste more lives than necessary. Just keep going, and the day will come!..."

(I imagine this nerd as the Ogre Battle equivalent of Nate Silver.)

One of the less-assuming enemy armies is this pair of a Devil with a Zombie Dragon. Don't let the fact it's got plenty of room fool you; a hit-all Black attack from that Devil is going to hurt, and that Zombie Dragon hits hard and soaks damage. That "1" damage is from one of my Dragoons! (They actually lose this fight.)

This unit is actually kind of ingenious; you're very likely to kill the exposed Devil before chipping away the Zombie Dragon, leaving a retreating army to go heal up and return again. Do your best to try and intercept it before it can revive the leader!

"The 3 Mystic Treasures? If you go to the city Mafe Kin to the west, I'm sure you will learn more about them."

"... thanks to Rashidi's black magic, he has become a horrible black knight. Please save him!

Oh yes. Let me give you this sword, Fafhniel! I'm sure it will help you in your fight!"

Hey this is pretty good! The FAFHNIEL sword grants a whopping +20 STR and +4 INT. It's downside is that it's a Black-aligned sword (so not so great against many of these late-game enemies you're going to fight) but who cares.

I prepare DAVIS's unit to intercept that Mage/Phantom army by equipping a KUKRI Rod (a White-aligned weapon that can kill undead) on YUPITEL, my Red Dragon II that could use the ALI bump, while putting the other Red Dragon II, NALKYSOS in the rear so it can at least help pick-off the Mage.

I want to make sure the KUKRI-wielding YUPITEL hits (and want to minimize the damage I am surely going to take here) so I buff everyone with a spare Star Tarot I've got lying around.

DAVIS dies along with the enemy leader, but we get two high-level undead kills out of it so no complaining.

YUPITEL gets to 57 ALI, which should be enough to ensure he can promote at level 23.

Killing that Mage frustratingly brings NALKYSOS *above* the 65 ALI cap to promote, but at least lowering ALI is an easier prospect.

"If you plan on restoring the Kingdom, you should find the 3 Mystic Treasures. They are the Grail, the Sword Brunhild, and the Mystic Armband. It is said that King Gran of Zenobia had the Grail and the Mystic Armband."

This NPC is correct; as a reminder, you need these three items to get one of the better endings (if not the best one).

"Not only that, but he's also been studying under the Mage Rashidi recently. That may make for a tough battle for characters with a high ALI."

Spoiler: General Previa uses zero black magic so this guy doesn't know what he's talking about!

(Some of Previa's companions however do so listen to him anyways.)

We get to see the Sylph's MISSILE in action here. It's of course best against low-ALI enemy units but it still a good time regardless of who you bean with it.

Remember that Devil/Zombie D combo that my Dragoon's couldn't scratch? Well, while MOGRI does better, the Devil can put out more damage than my team, so I'm forced to BOOTS back WARREN to defend out base. BOOTS are really good guys!

These Cherubims; help in clearing out some more undead; they're close to promoting which is exciting.

Oh goody.

"Oh! Please hurry! Hurry and help the Queen!

Oh yes. Let me give you this sword, Notos! I'm sure it will help you in your fight!"

The NOTOS Sword is another great weapon, granting STR +15 and INT +3 along with a Lightning-aligned attack. A keeper!

I'm workin' on it ok? Don't worry, as long as the Queen knows about the three relics they won't harm her...

YUSHIS hits level 22, which means she is the first of my angels to fully promote!

Pre-9-11 was a much different time in the realm of RPG translations...

Not complaining about that damage however! JIHAD's for everyone!

With my aggressive push to capture cities, we basically *break even* with our army costs. Yeouch!

Time to finish this!

"I'm no wimp like Debonair or Figaro! I shall show you the true power of the Vedas!"

(I swear they called em Devas before...)

This is a powerful unit, despite the enemy leader being pretty exposed. As a General, Previa has pretty good defenses. More importantly, he's carting a pair of Devils who are going to toss space rocks at your entire army.

Unfortunately for General Previa, my army consists of high-level Werewolfs, a Sorcerer and a Lich named WARREN.

It's not even a contest.

Prince TRISTAN: "... Previa... He's already..."

()

MOGRI: "... I see. I'm very sorry, Prince Tristan."

Prince TRISTAN: "... I don't know how to contain the anger I feel... From now on, I will live only to destroy the Empire!

Please take this Mystic Armband in remembrance of my mother, that we may live for the same goal. Eternal honour to the Rebels!"

Wait, you've spent dozens of fights working for me and you're telling me now that you may have been wavering there buddy!?

Well, on the bright-side, that's our second mystic treasure gained, th--

Goddamn Zodiac Stones taking up a dozen individual inventory slots!

This is your fault Deneb!

Horray!

Get out of here you useless-but-very-high-Goth-value items! AND WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING THERE PUMPKIN+!?

(The answer is that items don't automatically stack.)

Before we quit for the day, a quick primer on managing ALI (and CHA as it uses a similar formula).

The basic formula for how much ALI a units gains/loses is dependent on it both its ALI and the enemy's ALI, as well as the level of each unit. Stolen from a FAQ on the subject:

Change in ALI = (targetLevel - attackerLevel + c) + (attackerALI - targetALI)/20

So reading the formula, killing units that are higher level than you causes a gain in ALI, while killing lower-level units causes an ALI drop. Similarly, you gain ALI if the enemy unit is lower than yours, and lose it if your ALI is lower. The constant "c" is impacted by certain units, although I don't know if a list has ever been produced. But in short, killing Clerics and Angels is a good way to take a hit to your ALI.

Charisma works the exact same way; this means while in general, the stats are correlated, you can have situations where you gain ALI and lose CHA (and vice versa).

Manipulating this in the heat of battle is tricky as it can be hard to control what units fight what units. This is not a problem however if you revisit maps to fight Neutral encounters.

So we take DAVIS and his now level 22 Red Dragon II's out to the Ryhan Sea to kill a high-level unit--in this case, a Sylph--noting that we don't want a unit that is too low or high ALI as we're trying not to swing YUPITEL's ALI too far in either direction.

His kill nets him 65 ALI (the highest it can be such that he can still promote), squeaking it in almost as if I planned it! He's not level 23 yet, but he needs but one XP, meaning any fight will do it.

NALKYSOS meanwhile needs to take a hit to his ALI (which is too high, into the 70s, after munching on some low-ALI units last map) so we go a bit more extreme. We have him kill a level 11 Silver Dragon in the Kalbian Peninsula.

Nailed it!

Alright, a pair of SALAMAND!

... that are probably not worth using as (say it with me) large units aren't great. I will consider if there might be a way of salvaging them tho. Perhaps pairing them with one of my Dragoons (perhaps SLUST the Red?).

And that's one more wrap! Four more scenes to go!

Tune in next time for GRAIL, or "WHAT is your quest?"
