In this episode, I build a cobblestone box, suffocate a zombie pigman, and get horribly and hopelessly lost. |

Highlights of Episode 16 include an infodump about Nether Fortresses and the creation of The Safety Box. OF NOTE: I erroneously state that blazes only spawn out of spawners. This is untrue: when the game tries to spawn a monster, it checks to see if the spawn location is inside a Nether Fortress, and if it is, it spawns a monster from a unique spawn list, which includes blazes. This, combined with the fact that they can spawn at light level 11 (unlike most mobs, which spawn at 7), means it is highly impractical to try and lock the blazes to one location, as I would have to cover the entire fortress in torches. And as stated, these things are huge. |

You might want to skip this episode. It's mostly just fighting blazes, with some wandering around the fort near the end. That being said, I do pick up a very important thing near the end. |

In this episode, I spend a lot of time explaining the brewing process, begin The Great Stronghold Hunt and get horribly lost as a result. But hey, I have a new outpost in the savannah! |

Remember that outpost I mentioned? When I wrote the desc, I forgot that I saved that segment for episode 19. Silly me! (Also I fucked up the editing and had to mess with it again in post to make sure that all the audio synced up with the video.)
In this episode, I build an outpost in fast forward, go digging for the Stronghold and get lost again, because the damn thing has a ravine bisecting it. Music once again credit to bensound.com |

So here's the deal. I've been doing a lot of mining offscreen. There's kind of that stupid hillock in the way that I really don't enjoy, and I took it upon myself to level it.
Another thing I've been doing offscreen is running around the ravine in the stronghold and lighting as much of it as I can. (There's still all that shit on the tippy top that I've decided not to bother with.) In the middle of doing all this, I ended up also lighting up and mapping the entirety of the stronghold. (Okay maybe more like 95% but I think I've done good enough.) The point is, there's not much more faffing around I can even do. Quote:

I was legit shocked that you made it out of the stronghold in once piece.
Looking forward to more of this! |

Good luck. Name something 'meme' when you get around to enchanting. The power of rare pepes shall protect you.

MOTHER. FUCKER.
So. Witches. The one enemy type I haven't explained much. They spawn quite rarely on the overworld, and are likely to come out of "witch huts" that generate in swamp biomes. They attack by throwing potions at you. It fucking sucks, because their poison effects go through armor and only heal over time--and when you're surrounded, you can't really escape. I was grinding up Eyes of Ender to get into the stronghold, and I had ONE LEFT when I got poisoned to death and my armor did no good. RIP the run. Press F to pay respects. |

Up front, 2 things:
1. I'm so sorry to hear about your untimely and horrific demise. 2. When will you be uploading it? I'm only up to episode 14 and am enjoying this series a lot, even if there is 99.9% less death than McDohl's playthrough. I did not know that fishing could be so rewarding. Next world, do you plan to tame an ocelot (to get a cat), what with all that extra fish you are likely to have (assuming you have the patience to repeat the fish-grinding)? I hear cats discourage creepers. Also, are you taking seed suggestions? How about BEYONCE THE GIANT CHICKEN? |

Posting soon. Sadly, pretty much ALL of the stuff I did, happened off-camera. It was hours and hours and hours of non-footage anyways, which is why I'm so pissed witches happened. I will not be allowing that to happen in the future.
Truthfully there were several outs I had, I just didn't have any of the stuff on my person. Milk would've removed the poison and let me escape to heal, regen potions might've kept me topped off, or I could've just made a derp tower and ascended to the heavens and waited it out. (I didn't do this because I didn't have any blocks on hand, WHOOPS) also that story is AMAZE and I will totes gen world with that seed. Also also: Cats do discourage creepers, I just didn't ever find any. Also, nothing really scares away witches, and they only need to hit you once, because they irrevokably drop you to 1/2 heart and turn off your regen for about a minute, and if there is a horde of skeletons in the region, SUCKS TO BE YOU. There also isn't a pro-poison enchantment for armor. The new rule is, if I see a witch, immediately derp tower and shelter-in-place. Don't even give them a fucking second glance, just NOPE on out of there. |

I live on an island now! Today's installment features my fancy new intro/outro, and the colonization of the island. I'll be doing landscaping and security work off-camera, and since the first step is lighting the whole island up, I WILL not have monster spawns, so I shouldn't be able to die. At all. Fingers crossed. |

So, I got as far as an enchanting table and building a cobble box in the nether. I wanted invisibility potions before mucking around with the monument. Guardians fucking suck, and their attacks (a homing laserbeam) have some amount of armor penetration.
I GODDAMN BURNED TO DEATH. Lava in the walls while I was clearing the chaff, and unlike last time, I was too far away from the portal to get a bath in time. RIP. That being said, I have an interesting idea for the next world... if it doesn't work, though, I'll take the next seed suggestion. EDIT: It worked, but it won't make a proper world that can really be survived in. So whatever is fine for seeds Last edited by LaularuKyrumo; 07-12-2015 at 11:15 PM. |

So here's the deal. Right now I don't have any video footage at all, cause I'm still getting up and off the ground. I've been nomading pretty hardcore, though, so I'll take a bit of time to describe this.
Instead of setting up a permanent base, I've been running all over the world, taking what resources I can and only keeping with me what I can carry on my person. I'm sure I'll put down roots when I find a place suitable, but for now, I'm just running around. I picked up a small amount of iron and a bucket of lava in a tiny cave that I'm taking shelter in right now, and I killed a FUCKLOAD of animals, including sheep, so I have a bed and ENOUGH food. Let's just see where this goes. I'm hoping I find a cool place to set up just because I don't wanna bother with deforestation, and I have a tough time getting trees to grow in the mountains. For obvious reasons. |

Update time!
I eventually just said "fuck it" and picked a random spot in the middle of a hilly forest (birch trees, no less) and dug down. I've set up down there pretty nicely, with LOADS of stone (including all three decorative colors, granite andesite and diorite), the correct number of diamonds (5), some chickens, wheat and sugar, and a reasonably sized lava pit. I've been deforesting and have an entire chest dedicated to wood products, and will be setting up a nether portal soon up in the sky, near the giant stone pillar I built so I would have a harder time getting lost on my nightly return trip. I haven't seen any cows yet, but I think I'll just chop down a buncha trees, then kill all the animals I see and wait for new ones to spawn in, and hopefully get my hands on cows. Otherwise, I'll have to rely on rabbits, and nobody wants to breed rabbits. I don't even have carrots yet! (Or melons, or pumpkins. Gotta get on that!) 7/20 EDIT: I now have cows, an enchantment table, a map, pumpkins, and WAY TOO MUCH FUCKING WOOD. (Which is fine by me, really.) I also have slimeballs, drops that come from slimes. These little buggers are unique in that they spawn at any light level, but only in specific chunks below y=40 or in swamps during full moons. The chunks they are allowed to spawn in varies based on the world seed, and other than the presence of slimes, there is no way to tell whether a given chunk will spawn slimes. (It just occurred to me that I never explained what a chunk is. A chunk is a space in the world that is 16 cubic blocks in volume. Now you know.) The "bad" news is that the slimes are spawning in my livestock pen, and I'm too lazy to move it. The good news is that they only hurt me, not the livestock, and I have no problem cutting them up whenever I stick around long enough to spawn one in. Slimeballs can be crafted into blocks of slime, which have some interesting properties that I haven't actually played around with. They can also be glued to pistons to make sticky pistons, and mixed with blaze powder to make magma cream (the source of potions of Fire Resistance), so they're pretty nice things to have. fucking hell. This death was entirely avoidable, and the lesson is one I will hopefully bring with me into the next run. That being said, this time I was paranoid about wall-lava and ended up dying in some other hilariously predictable way, so, who knows how helpful this self-offered advice will turn out to be? My bet's on "not very." |

In this episode, I admire the landscape, and immediately get into a rather predictably rough start. Setting up underground happens, but boy is it harrowing. I've got most of the cave secured, save for one area I'm leaving for later and a second area right under the tree farm that I want to plug up (or at least link back to the other area), but otherwise we can start taking over the surface. Kickass! |

THIS IS THE CAVE THAT NEVER ENDS YES IT GOES ON AND ON, MY FRIENDS The highlights of this episode are really just "holy crap he survived. Again." I chopped like, 2+ hours of footage down for this, and that's not counting the landscaping that took place in between last episode and now, and stuff that got cut during that episode as well. And there's still another chunk of raw footage I haven't combed through. I find the surface in that one, though! anyway so yeah, cave cave the cave-cave. |
