Ah, right you are! I must have missed that. In any event, sounds like the people want Contra!

That was exactly the train of thought I was having the entire time I was reading about it. The "key as a subweapon" thing was clever, but needing to get through the platforming section without a single mistake, then choosing the key over another weapon, then making it through a boss fight and an entire stage without dying or switching weapons...and without anything to indicate that this is a thing you should do. (Oh, and even if you do all that, missing that one secret still means you don't get the best ending.) "Dick move" programming at its finest.

Great LP, Beta! I think I'd lean toward your take on either Castlevania 3 or Contra: Hard Corps, but whatever you choose would be fun.

This was a nice read, Beta! I guess I'll throw another "Hard Corps" post in the pile, since Contra is a series I've heard mentioned a lot but don't actually know all that much about.

I don't know the most appropriate place to mention this, but for those interested in my style of LP, I'm doing something similar over at RETRO Magazine's site:

Ristar

It's not quite the same...it's a different format, and it remains to be seen how well I can adapt to it, but I'm eager to give it my best shot. I'd appreciate feedback anyone is willing to send my way.
