I'm just now realizing I missed an excellent opportunity to use the Shadow Dragon to remind you of the Black Worm. Oh well.

There's going to be a small break until I get a chance to stream again. Hopefully sometime this week/weekend.

I decided to start a (vanilla) FF4 run this weekend. My highlight was clearing Eblan right after Cagnazzo, a personal first. There are three monster chests, but only two of them are really troublesome:

4 Skeletons + Golem: MT Firaga kills all the skeletons. Tornado works on the Golem, dropping it into one-hit range.

3 Mad Ogres: This encounter gave me nightmares as a kid, but it turns out they're vulnerable to Mini. The battle is brainless after that, of course.

For your troubles, you get a Sleep Sword, a Silver Apple, and a Blood Lance. The Sleep Sword is a nice find, if nothing else.

Blizzaga does even better. It murders the Golem.

Break, of all things, is equally effective. The tricky part is having Tellah survive.

If I remember correctly Ice 3 also works on the Golem. (Which aturtledoesbite already said. I really should have read all of the posts before making mine.)

Weak/Torndao also works on the Mad Ogres but that just makes the battle quicker not necessarily easier.

They're all pretty easy if you get into an over-world fight and beat Tellah to critical, then put Cecil in the back and just have him defend every turn.

I like to pretend for the sake of narrative that what REALLY happens is the conjurer takes damage equal to what their phantom monster takes.

From a narrative standpoint, imagine if Zeus summoned a chocobo to pick up some ice cream from the local supermarket. The thing breaks its leg, falls into the street, and carks it from a Uhaul truck. Then Zeus, king of kings, suddenly explodes into gibblets during his date with a random cute stranger with a bestiality/furry fetish.

We can assume the shadow dragon is roughly equal or weaker to the mist dragon in strength, since its killed by it. Golbez definitely has more HP than some random NPC in the very second town, who doesn't even have a name.

Am I the only one bothered that Rydia's mom doesn't have a name?

Life continues to get in the way. I have not given up on this, though. I'm going to try to sneak in an episode this weekend sometime.

The gang gets a crane for the airship to carry the hovercraft to get the cave to get the Ninja. Best game ever!

Edge doesn't comment as the gang raids the ruins of his former home.

Between PAX and The Great April Outage this thread has fallen behind what's been long posted to youtube.

PART V

Edge is a lousy thief.

Uncut goodness here

Once again, I'm going to be super busy for a bit, so lord only knows when I'll get another free hour or two to stream, but keep and eye out here and/or follow my twitch. Maybe I'll try to take a paper writing break this Sunday or Monday afternoon.
