Yukiko: My Prince wouldn't lose to guards such as this, correct?
Teddie: Gyaaaaaah! I've never seen such a strong one before! I-It's attacking us!

Avenger Knight is the mini-boss of this dungeon. He's strong with physical attacks but not so great against magic. In theory, this should be an easy fight if we just spam magic and occasionally heal, since his vanilla attack deals a lot of damage. In practice, Chie wouldn't stop using Skewer even though her Bufu would have done a lot more damage, and Yousuke spends most of his turn healing. So, after a few retries, we finally defeat him and gain a level, but only with Chie unconscious and Yousuke taking a mortal blow for Pockets.

We also get a Glass Key to open that locked door we ran into.

Yukiko: *chuckle* If you really are my Prince, then we will surely meet again. I am but a trapped soul… I cannot leave this place even if I wished… *chuckle *
Teddie: ……
I don't sense her anymore… Oh! Are you okay, Sensei? I'm sure we've got a long way to go. Don't push yourself too hard! If you're tired, you should head back!

It's true we're pretty low on both HP and SP, so we won't fight the final boss of the dungeon today. But we can still do a little bit more crawling and preparation, as this next boss is definitely the hardest boss in the whole game (and if anyone tells you otherwise, they're just bad at using Personas in the later game!).

We use the glass key to open the door.

On to the 6th floor!

Reporter's Voice: Now that has a nice right to it... Let's see if we can interview her. Excuse me!
Yukiko's Voice: Shut up!
Reporter's Voice: Someday, though... That aside, wow! You're looking gorgeous in that kimono. You must have a lot of male visitors.
Yukiko's Voice: Leave me alone! I'm sick of everything! I'm sick of it...
Teddie: I don't get what's going on with all those voices, but I can sense that we're getting closer. Hang in there!

These beetles are not hard but annoying because they reflect physical, so we have to waste precious SP to defeat them. They're weak against Ice, so we just guard against them and wait for Chie to use Bufu. Yousuke also always guards against these things after the first time he hit them with his regular attack and got reflected.

We get a new Chariot Persona.

At this point, our Persona roaster is full, so we go back to the velvet room with a Goho-M.

We register the Personas, and fuse a few more Personas.

Archangel basically has no weakness at this level, and also has Double Fangs. The most important thing about him, though, is that he's going to learn Media soon. We'll seriously need that for the next boss fight.

His Magic stat is decent, so we let him inherit Garu so he has a magical attack. Rakunda is a good debuff, too.

The next one we fuse is Saki Mitama. Izanagi, our Elec casting Persona is not exactly up to the current level, so we need a new one. This one was fused with a triangle spread.

Then we go back to the dungeon. We can get to the highest floor we've been to right away.

We get a new Persona, Forneus of the Hermit Arcana.

There are also new enemies. These guys like to cast Tarukaja and then Maragi (the multitarget version of Agi, the light Fire skill).

We also find a Combat Dress. Chie is the only one who can use this.

There are more new Shadows. These guys are nastier than the shadows we saw at the beginning. The first one, Heat Balance, is immuned to everything we can cast but Physical. The second one, Laughing Table, is immuned to everything we can cast except for Wind.

We gain a new Chest Key and a new Persona.

We also ran into a rare shadow. Rare shadows glow red or yellow. It's rare to encounter them on a non-rainy day.

This rare shadow turns out to be 2 of the mini-boss guy! Except this time they have a lot less HP. We kill one of them and get a critical hit on the other.

We get another new Persona, Valkyrie.

Here's a complete map of floor 7.

Floor 8, it turns out, is the boss floor. There's only a big door here and a save butterfly. This one can also warp us back to the entrance.

At this point our Persona roster is full again, and we're low on SP. Ideally we'd like to level Archangel up to 12 to learn Media, and Slime up to some more levels to get Red Wall (which we will seriously need for the next boss fight), but looks like this is not going to happen today. So we just go back.

This is what our roster looks like now.

Before we leave for the day, we fuse another Persona and take advantage of the stat bonus.

Back home, only Nanako is around. There's something in the fridge.

Because Pockets went into the TV today, he's too tired to do anything in the evening, so the only thing we can do is sleep. With sweet dreams.

It's another day in Inaba. Pockets receives a call first thing in the morning.

Margaret: I realize this is sudden, but… I'm Margaret. We met at the Velvet Room the other day. There is one important point I forgot to warn you about, so I thought it best to contact you immediately. Going to save your friends is a selfless and noble deed… By all means, we encourage and support you in regards to this matter. But to proceed to hastily in that quest will mean facing one battle after the next. Though you may be pressed for time, devoting yourself to battles will not quench your heart's yearnings. The bonds created through Social Links are another important means of strengthening the powers of your Persona… Do not hasten heedlessly through your days, and remember the importance of moving at a sustainable pace. Please remember that. Well then, if you'll excuse me…

She's telling Pockets to take his time and hang out with his friends when Yukiko is in danger, basically. Also, the first few sentences can be read very differently if you realize that "Velvet Room" sounds kind of like a strip club.

By the way, at the beginning of the LP, I mentioned that Margaret's yellow eyes are significant. The game will never mention it to you, but the denizens of the Velvet room are not humans. It's not entirely clear what they are, however. The velvet room assistants, Margaret and Elizabeth in P3, both have yellow eyes. In case you haven't noticed, the only other entities with yellow eyes in the game are shadows originated from humans (Shadow Yousuke and Shadow Chie so far). So my theory is that they are shadows themselves, or shadow-related somehow.

When I read about Persona 4 Golden I thought that this theory was false because the other Velvet Room assistant, Mary, didn't have yellow eyes. But in the end I found out that she's actually a fake assistant, and if anything, this further reinforces what I thought.

Anyway, on his way to school, Pockets overhears something from his schoolmates again.

P4 has this thing about highlighting random phrases or sentences, and sometimes they aren't all that important. What's up with that?

Braided Girl: Weren't you asking the same thing last year? And the year before that?
Chatty Girl: Was I? Well, whatever. I shouldn't join a sports team. I need to focus on my entrance exams this year! I need to choose which shrine to wish for luck at with my mother so I can pass the exams. I don't want to go to the shrine near the shopping district, 'cuz it's all shady and creepy, you know…? Not only that, but I heard a rumor that there's something living in that shrine!
…I wonder if it's true…

The game skips to after school immediately after that.

... Oops, it looks like the game wants us to visit the Faculty Office first. I didn't do that when I played, and skipped to visiting the clubs themselves. Nothing important happens in the faculty office though, just King Moron lecturing us about not using sports as a way to get girls.

Pockets looks through the two available clubs. First is basketball.

Then there's also soccer.

Basketball barely wins, with only one vote more than soccer, so Pockets will join the basketball club.

P.E Teacher:
He's from the city, so I'm sure he's got some moves he's just waiting to show off. I'd say this season is in the bag! I'm even thinking about making him captain!
Basketball player: Sounds good to me. Voting is a big pain anyway.

What!? What kind of PE teacher makes a newcomer the captain on his first day? And what kind of club members go along with it? Pockets is better than accepting that!

Team members: Just go easy on us, OK?
> They don't seem very enthusiastic...
P.E. teacher: Well, you guys can take it from here. I've gotta go check on the soccer team. Pockets, why don't you just watch for today, OK? I'm taking off now.

The team only practices a little then leaves. But there's still one person here.

Basketball player:
Whadja think of your first day here?

Kou Ichijo: Good to see someone else take an interest in the team.

Another guy approaches us.

Male student: Is this the new guy?
Kou: Yeah, can you believe it!? He's the transfer student.
Male student: Hmmm, that's cool.

Daisuke Nagase: Soccer team, second year. Kou and I go way back.
Kou: Yeah, too far back. I'm getting sick of seeing your face.
Daisuke: Heh, did everyone take off early like usual?
Kou: Yep. I suggested we work on rebounding, but, but they were all like, "That's too tiring." So, all we did was take a few shots... Hm, I shouldn't scare Pockets with my bitching all his first day! We've got a lot of members who don't show up for practice, but basketball's fun.

Every social link event has one or more dialog options, and certain ones will give us more music notes (social link points). The more points we gain, the faster we can progress through the social link. Rank 1 and rank 10 dialog options don't actually matter, however. At rank 1, we'll have enough to get to rank 2 regardless of what we choose (and extra points don't carry over into the next rank), and rank 10 is already the final rank.

Kou: Seriously!? I can't wait to play you!
> You became friends with Kou Ichijo of the basketball team and Daisuke Nagase of the soccer team.
> You feel a faint bond forming between the three of you.

And we just gained the Strenght social link!

This doesn't really make any sense, but it's the way the game balances the two sport options. If basketball didn't care about rainy days, no one would ever choose soccer.

Kou: Sometimes it sucks being a small team... And of course, we don't practice the week before exams.

All our school-related social links stop wanting to hang out with us the week before exams and study like crazy. Fortunately, we do have other non-school-related s.links.

Kou: Yeah, while they go to their parties, I get to stay here and play with balls.

Kou: ...Man, I wanna go party too!

The game doesn't hesitate to tell us its opinion about us if we choose not to help.

Kou: You'd do that!? You're a real pal, man. I think I'm tearing up.
> Kou is exuberant.
> You decided to go home after helping.

At home, Nanako is alone once again.

Nanako:
High school students have club activities. The teacher told us about them today.

Nothing much to do around here at this time. Pockets studies at the desk in his room.

Sometimes when studying at this desk, we get a double increase in knowledge. It's pretty random, and some players do cheese by loading and reloading until they get the double increase every time.

And that's it for today!

Man, reading that Kou line just makes me think of Giant Bomb's Persona 4 LP. They ended a video on that line because they were so stunned they just read it.

Yeah, my first time through, I went with Daisuke and the soccer team, so I thought Kou's obsession in Peachi's P4 comic was just part of the joke. When I actually got that line in my second playthrough, it made me laugh because he really did say that!

(And right now, in my P4G New Cycle, I'm stuck on April 25 because I've done Yumi's S.Link twice, but I... don't really want to feel creepy with Ayane's? Even though I've never seen her S.Link? Decisions, decisions...)

There's only one thing to do, and that's vote Music Club for the LP. WR can feel creepy for us.

Edit: I guess you already did that, but I hadn't yet.

Everyone says that the music club is creepy, but I never noticed its creepiness when I chose it on my first playthrough. I thought Ayane and the social link itself were both cute I guess it's kind of awkward to date a girl that looks 12 years old, but we can just choose the friend path (Pockets can be friends with girls too!)

I actually think it's one of the better done social links out there, and do prefer it to Yumi's. Also the ending was unexpected (and sad) for me, which made it better than Yumi's totally predictable ending. Also despite appearances I think Ayane is actually more mature because she consistently tries to get out of her comfort zone and becomes better at something, whereas Yumi is a real drama queen.(Yumi's social link spoiler) I mean she blames everything wrong with her life on her dad, refuses to get over the past for the longest time, and then awkwardly confess her love to you and tell you to accept or walk away!

Default Today is Yousuke Day!

Pockets runs into Yousuke on the way to school.

Yousuke: Oh, hey, I came up with an idea I've been meaning to ask you about. We're able to enter TVs now… Have you ever tried sticking your hand into a TV when something's on?

We've never seen Pockets doing it, but we say yes anyway to look like we've thought about everything.

Yousuke: You tried it out already!? Oho, now that's our leader! But, I see… So you can't just go to the same place that's on the screen. So my plan to jump right to where Yukiko-san is while she's on the screen wouldn't work, then… I thought it might work if there was a direct connection between what's on the TV and where you end up… But then again, it makes sense that it doesn't work that way. Different TVs are connected to different places, but everybody can watch the Midnight Channel. That's kind of a contradiction, isn't it? Then I guess there's no other way but through that castle, no matter how dangerous it might be… Still, I'm sure Yukiko-san is in a lot more pain than we are! We can't complain about stuff like this!

A little bit later, Pockets starts his well-known tradition of helping friends cheat in class.

Mr. Hosoi: My name is Mr. Hosoi, and in this class you'll be learning about contemporary writing. Let's all have fun. I know this is off-topic, but what's the point of applying for colleges outside Inaba? Why even bother? Nothing good ever comes out of competing with city-folk. The country side is all you need. Mmmhmm. Well, let's practice our spelling. Which of the following words is spelled correctly? You! Hana-chan! You're just the kind of guy who relies on his PC's spell check!

I just won't bother to spoiler tag this one, again =/

Answering questions for others in class has many benefits, such as:

After class, before doing anything that takes time, we go over to the shopping district first to sell some stuff.

At Daidara, we can choose to sell all the materials at once.

This comes out to 12.090 yen in total. That's a significant amount for us! Daidara also picks out certain things to make new equipment.

... and so on for all other materials. You get the idea. And this is what we end up getting:

We haven't done any weapon upgrade for Pockets, so it's about time we get one.

Yousuke's new weapon is good, too, but not as much of an increase from his current one. We don't have all that much money, so we dont' buy it.

Chie's, however, is a great buy. Her hit rate is slightly lower, but not significantly so. Also the +2 Endurance will come in handy.

There are new accessories, too. We can't really afford any accessories right now.

This is really good, though! We'll probably buy it if we still have enough money by the time we go back to Yukiko's Castle.

This, on the other hand, is not that useful for us right now.

Done with equipment stuff, we go back to Yasogami High School. Yousuke is the only available social link for today. Alternatively, we can also go to the TV World, but such excursions are really best done on rainy days. So we hang out with Yousuke.

Yousuke is out in the corridor. As an available social links, he has a big exclamation mark above his head.

Yousuke: Rushing things isn't gonna help us... I know! How 'bout we take a little break?
> Maybe you should hang out with Yousuke and relax...
> Will you spend the afternoon with Yousuke?

... wait, something's not right here! The game hasn't told us that we'll get a long well with Yousuke because we have a Persona of the right Arcana. That's probably because we don't.

... yeah. So we go back to the Velvet Room and fix that.

This is what the compendium looks like.

Then we go back to Yousuke.

That's more like it!

Yousuke: Well, it is good… though it's tough. Chie called this stuff "tender and juicy"… What kinda teeth does she have…?

A couple of women pass by us, gossiping.

Talkative Lady: His classmate… Sato-san…? Went out of business…
Gossiping Lady: This shopping district could disappear, and yet…

Yousuke seems somewhat bothered by it.

Yousuke: Nahhh, it's not really. It's mainly my parents; I'm not personally involved. Anyways, there's nothing I can do about it.
> Yosuke shrugs…
Yousuke: I don't think there's anyone in Inaba who doesn't know me, at school or around town… Not that I mind, but… It sucks that I always gotta mind my manners.
> Yosuke smiles cheerfully…
> You feel you understand Yosuke a bit more…

Our Magician social link is now rank 2, so Magician Personas will receive more exp when we fuse them.

Each social link event has one or more dialog options like that. We'll never fail to rank up, but depending on which option we choose, it may take longer to get to the next rank.

Yousuke: I'm gonna have another. You want one two, right?
> You ate croquettes with Yousuke until your stomach started to bulge, then went home...

Back home, Nanako is sad about something.

Not much we can do at home in the evening still. We could read a book on the couch in Pockets's room, but I just realized that I forgot to buy the book today. Oh well. So we just study.

No double Knowledge increase this time for us, though.

And that's it for today!

Skipped the update yesterday and I had to spend half of the morning just to catch up!

In other news I think I'm going to change my vote from automated allies to you controlling them. Looks like its just too cruel to you otherwise.

I like LPs to play differently from how I did, so that means manual allies in dungeons, automatic for boss fights.

I'm actually wondering why I didn't do this before! I always controlled my allies on my previous playthrough, and it probably made the dungeons a lot longer. Allies do just fine in small encounters; and usually those end in one or two rounds anyway. They only act unintelligently during boss fights.

That said, I'm kind of enjoying the free-acting allies during boss fights! I thought there would be a lot of teeth gnashing, but it actually feels refreshing. I've played through this game a few times, but now I'm considering different strategies because of this. I'd never grind for a particular skill before, for example, unless it's for the Empress social link.

It rains this morning, and Pockets runs into Yousuke on the way to school.

Yousuke: I hear that it's gonna be sunny for a while, starting this afternoon. Looks like we're not gonna have to worry about the fog for now.

Yousuke: Yeah. Let's keep our cool, make sure we're ready, and rescue Yukiko-san, no matter what!

So, in case you're freaking out because it's raining now, there's no need to worry.

During lunchtime, when Pockets is wandering, Kou stops him.

Kou: You know we've got practice today, right? You'd better be there, man... See ya later!

Sometimes the available social links for that day will come up to Pockets and remind or ask him to hang out, like this. Sometimes they even ask if we'd like to hang out, and we can choose yes or no right away. Accepting the invitation means that Pockets will immediately hang out with that person after school. Nothing happens when you don't accept though, so there's no reason not to say no. Social links never get negative points in this game, and the social link will still be available after school like usual.

After school, we make a quick trip to the shopping district to pick up the book, since we forgot to yesterday. New books will be available for a few days before they disappear and we can't buy them anymore.

Also, we can do our first quest. There's actually a 3rd floor at Yasogami High, but it's so unimportant that it's not even one of the teleport options. But we do get some quests there, such as this one.

Funky student: I don't know you, and you're coming up, so it's 50-50 that you're a second year! Deductive reasoning like whoa, son! Now, I, the OG-third-year, will challenge you, the second-year youngblood, with a riddle! And no, it isn't because I'm trying to avoid studying for entrance exams! I'm just doing you a favor here, man! If you answer correctly, I will present you with a "key".

I still have no idea what "OG" stands for in that sentence.

Funky student: Looks like your spirit is willing. Let's see if your mind can vibe to this...! Riddle time! I'ma drop some stuff into two distinct categories. At the end you gotta drop the last item onto the proper category. Can you dig it!?
Red's group A.
Grey's group B.
White's puttin it down for group A.
Orange has a group B tattoo.
Green's A for sheezy.
Pink is group B times infinity.
Aight, so which group does black belong to, A or B? Holla!

The answer: Group A.

Funky student: Oh yeah! So tell me what those items have in common! Give it to me!

The answer: They're top 6 flag colors.

I'd post the explanation given by the funky student himself, but I don't know how to do collapsible spoilers D: So I guess I'll leave them out this time.

The only social link available today is Strength.

A side benefit of the Strength social link is the bonus Diligence points.

We stay and talk to Kou afterward.

I picked Aiya, but didn't take a screenshot for some reason.

Kou: Ooh, you really know what's up! Their Hui Gou Rou is awesome.
> There is a gleam in Kou's eyes.

Kou: The soccer team's done already? You guys are fast, man. Don't you have cleaning up to do?
Daisuke: Yeah, but I don't have to do that stuff.
Kou: Hmmmm...
Daisuke: Oh yeah, this girl in my class was looking for you. She made something for you in home EC. She said, "Kou-chan loves sweets," or something like that.

Kou:No no, we're just friends.
> Kou is laughing.
Kou: I don't mind the sweets and all that, but I wish she'd stop calling me "Kou-chan." I swear, the more girls I tell not to call me that, the more they seem to enjoy doing it.

Daisuke: Well? What are you gonna do?
Kou: ... I guess I'll go pick 'em up.

Kou: If I mention you, I bet she'd give me tons! Alright, leave it to me. I'll get us so many cookies, we'll be too fat to practice!
> Kou is pumped up!
> Your relationship with Kou seems to have grown stronger...

We got our Strength social link to rank 2!

Kou: Hey Daisuke, Pockets, don't leave without me, alright!? If you're not here when I get back, I'm gonna cry!
Daisuke: Funny thing is, he's probably serious...

Pockets goes home after that. Just as he's back in his room, Chie calls.

Chie: Are you gonna be busy tomorrow? Even if you are, free up some time so we can go inside the TV!
> Chie hung up.

Occasionally, when we have a pending rescue mission, some party member will anxiously call. There's really no consequence if we ignore them, as long as we do the rescue on time.

Today, we can also study again. Or, since we bought the book earlier, we can read it. Reading certain books is the only reliable way to gain Courage in this game, other than eating Nanako's science project or eating at the Aiya Rainy Day Challenge.

Books can be read fast or slowly. I'm not actually sure what the difference is, other than that the book is finished much faster if we choose to glance through it. This time, we'll read it thoroughly.

> You decided to read A Great Man with your full attention...
> Every chapter begins: "All men have the great spirit of masculinity within themselves. The spirit of true manhood transcends space and time, and all people, of all cultures and genders... Feel its call..."
> You feel more like a real man than ever before.

Pockets goes to sleep right after that.

We're almost reaching the point in the game when there are plenty of things to do a day and not enough days to do them. So, I will open up a poll every day and you can vote for what you want Pockets to do that day. I don't know whether people will keep voting every day =/ So if it looks like no one likes to vote, I'll just decide what Pockets do myself.

So, for the next day...

April 22

1/ Afternoon:

The only social link choice is Yousuke, so I'll go with that. But if you really want to, you can vote for something else, like eating steaks or studying at the library or something.

EDIT: OH, AND YOU CAN CHOOSE TO RESCUE YUKIKO TOO, OF COURSE.

2/ Evening:

We still have no available social link, so the only 2 options are:

- Studying: increase Knowledge

- Reading A Great Man: increase Courage

Vote away!

'OG' stands for Original Gangster

What the diff between knowledge and courage? As in, what do they affect? That would help me decide which to vote for.

Seems kinda arbitrary. I got the same result by checking the number of letters -- Group A has an even number and Group B has an odd number.

Huh, that's what I did, too. I didn't even check the answer. What are the "top 6" in terms of flag colors, anyway? On the most countries' flags?

Knowledge helps you get better grades in tests, which I think translates to more/better items as a reward?

Also some S.Links may require one or the other stat to be at a certain level, but can't remember which ones.

And of course certain dialogue options are hidden behind skill checks as well, as noted before.

There's only one OG that truly matters - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OG_Readmore.

Unless you're at the bottom of the class, Dojima gives you an allowance, which increases the better you do. If you're at the top of the class, Ms. Sofue gives you a reward, and Nanako gives you a handmade charm of some sort.

IIRC:

Empress requires Knowledge to initiate, but I forget if it needs to be maxed. It will also ask you to spend quite a bit of money.

Max Hermit will require Diligence, in a roundabout way (the final quest involves fishing, which, unless you save-scum, requires Diligence.)

Max Hierophant and Max Justice will require increasing levels of Expression and Understanding at various points, but don't need anything to initiate.

Fortune will require max Knowledge and max Courage to initiate, but it's way off into the future.

Strength will raise Diligence.

Temperance will raise Understanding.

Sun will raise Expression.

Devil requires Diligence (level 3, I think?) to initiate and will raise Courage.

Tower will require max Understanding, the little prick. The sooner you get this stat up, the better.

Moon will require some level of Courage, to initiate it by ditching class.

Oooh! I remembered that Courage is the first stat that you'll want to raise up to level 2 in the beginning but couldn't remember why --- this is why! Of all the things Zef mention, we'll get to Moon first, then Devil an Empress. We do have access to Tower at the same time as Devil, but Devil requires Diligence 3 and Tower Understanding 5, so we'll get to Devil way before Tower. Everything else is pretty far into the future. Tower doesn't require Diligence, but having high Diligence will help it rank up better because you can choose to stay later and help out the brat a bit more.

If you care about having overpowering Personas, you'll want to get to Tower and max it as soon as possible, because Yoshitsune.

Justice and Hierophant (Nanako and Dojima) require Expression to max, but I'd say there's no need to hurry and increase Expression. In my games I tended to max expression early on and finish these social links pretty early, too, and then spent many classes feeding Yousuke the right answers to questions without gaining any benefits (Yousuke liked me more but he was already at rank 10, and my Expression "significantly increased" but it was already max!)

Also I think doing well in exam makes your schoolmates like you more. They all get 2 music notes if you're in the top few, and 3 music notes if you're the top.

The other 2 colors are blue and yellow, I think. Blue would have been a better example as it provides a counter-example for that odd/even rule. And yeah, they're the colors that appear on most countries' flags.

I just double posted and it's not an LP update am I a bad person D:

Social links never get negative points in this game, and the social link will still be available after school like usual.
Really? I thought you got extra music notes during the s-link scenes after accepting invites.

Huh, really? I guess I wouldn't be able to tell, because I never saw more than 3 music notes. Or do you mean the music note sounds that the game makes when you accept the invites? It does that when you choose the "Hangout with this person" option when talking to them after school, too.

Pockets meets Yousuke just outside the school.

Yousuke: Looks like the weather's gonna be nice for a while, so a little rain's not gonna hurt anything.

Yousuke: Haha, you too? That makes me feel better. Anyway, let's take everything one step at a time, Leader!

Pockets hangs out with Yousuke again after school. He's the only available S.link today.

Yousuke: Y'know, I'm just a poor little city boy drawn to that urban scent.

All of these are sensible options, but since Yousuke is kind of a goofy character, we go with the more goofy option.

Yousuke: Now that you mention it, the foam in my facial soap this morning had...! H-Hey, you're making me scare myself!
> Yousuke is smiling...
Yousuke: Well, that aside, what should we--

But his cellphone rings all of the sudden.

Yousuke: More spam... Looks like someone got my address. I get a lot of spam.

Yousuke: Even when I do, they change domains, so there's no point. And I don't wanna change my address... I haven't changed addresses since before we move to Inaba. I mean, I might get a text froms someone... It's hard to call, y'know? If I called people just to tell them my number changed, they'd get annoyed. And some of them might not wanna text me at all... Oh but hey, don't look at me like I don't have any friends!... Though to tell you the truth, I don't remember what we used to talk about. Can't really call 'em friends... Inaba suits me just fine. Plus... I got something I need to do here. I'm counting on ya, partner!
> You can sense Yousuke's enthusiasm...
> You feel you understand Yousuke a bit more...

Every time I read this dialog, I get confused about whether they're talking about text, email, or something else. But, yay, rank 3!

At rank 3, party members get the ability to perform follow-up attacks. Sometimes when we knock an enemy down and there still are more enemies not down, a party member will ask us if we want them perform a follow-up attack. The follow-up is a physical attack on a not-down enemy and is always a critical hit, knocking that enemy down. This replaces our One More, but it's useful when the only not-down enemy left is one that doesn't have a weakness.

Yousuke: It'd suck if something happened back there while we were over here! Alright, let's head home! Wait... let's get everyone a souvenir, then go home!

Back home, Nanako is watching a gameshow again. Pockets continues reading A Great Man.

And that's all for today!

Voting for tomorrow...

April 23 (Sunny)

1/ Afternoon:

- Hang out with Yousuke

- Hang out with Kou and Daisuke: also raise Diligence

- Start our first part-time job: this will start the Temperance social link, and also raise Understanding

- Rescue Yukiko: It's not a rainy day, but if you're anxious, we can do this. Doing this will advance the plot a little bit right now, but we'll still have to wait afterward, so we don't gain any extra time by rescuing early.

- Some miscellaneous things (eat steak? study at the library? pet cat? etc.)

2/ Evening:

- Study: raise Knowledge

- Read A Great Man: raise Courage

I'd say to hold off on going to rescue Yukiko until Wednsday.
