FOURTH CHOICE

Do I trade the Polar Star for the Machine Gun? Yes / No

This choice will effect later choices. Choosing 'Yes' will up my firepower slightly and make the game easier for me as far as platforming goes. Choosing 'No' will change nothing but give an option later to exchange the Polar Star and the Fireball for a weapon called the Snake.

I'm going to say go for the Snake, because it's always been my favorite of the three.

Not that I ever speedran Hell to any degree of competence, my fastest time is a meager 4'45"01.

Though it seems kinda unfair to make you do that and no missiles in the same run.

These choices do not directly affect the outcome of the game. The Snake is kind of like the fireball except it shoots mostly straight and can go through walls, while the Arms Barrier halves the amount of exp lost when I take damage.

I posted in the Let's Racing Time thread about this too, but I figured I should post here to explain things. Between last week and yesterday I managed to have both my main hard drive and backup hard drive crash. This actually happened during the render of Cave Story, and is probably while the episode failed to render so many times (which is why it wasn't out last Friday.)

As of right now I may have to redo everything up to this point unless I can recover those files.

That bites, but on the upside, Cave Story is a fun enough game to play through more than once, so hey.

Yeah, best case scenario is that I recover everything, and all I have to do is render it!

Worst case I have to re-play the game to this point and make a new episode and graphics.

Awful! I had to replay large swaths of several of my LPs because of save file shenanigans, and I feel your pain. Your LP is BA by the way. Great formatting, content and branding.

Thanks! I've had to replay several games too on my channel because of autosaving and losing recordings mainly. I just hate having to push off new episodes of stuff for any reasons, this year has been horrible as I've been on hiatus for most of it because of stuff like this.

Both of these choices affect whether or not I can get into hell later in the game and which ending I will be getting. For Booster, if I ignore him I can get a better item from him later which I will need to go to Hell; and if I leave Quote to his fate I can't enter Hell. (also he will die)
