LAST TIME, ON STALKER.




Stalker: Clear Sky is a prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl. It was released in September 15, 2008 (In the US), and it sure was a release. ShoC did not release very gracefully after being accused of being vaporware for years. Clear Sky continued the tradition of being a buggy mess, and still holds the title of being the buggiest Stalker game. Let's talk about why!

1: There are problems with the new faction wars feature. Groups of one faction will have their AI break! Groups will get caught in the middle of zone transitions! Factions will respawn while you wait for reinforcements! It is in general a mess of code.

2: Clear Sky turned out sucky, so GSC didn't support it for very long.


Yes, Clear Sky is the black sheep of the series. It adds a lot of weird changes, like full english voice dubbing, dynamic (butt-rock) battle music, the broken faction system, and every goddamn man in the zone throws grenades like a fucking NFL pro quarterback. On top of those changes, the whole game is a rehash of ShoC, only slightly updating all of the areas. There is only a few new areas in the game, but they don't offer enough variety to save the game.

So why am I LPing this? Completion, and to show off that there are some okay ideas that carry over into the next game, which actually is a great game. I can only think of one big addition, but maybe I will find more as I go on. Buckle up, and get ready to PUT THAT SHOOTER AWAY, MAN.

Swamps: Part 1
Getting out of the Swamps and into the Cordon.
Doing the stupid quests in the Cordon for the stupid stalkers. With Beat, Gahitsu, and Phat.
Going through the Garbage and whatever stupid quests Freedom wanted me to do. With Kayin, Patito, BEAT, and Gahitsu
Gotta find Fang's PDA. Feat. Beat, Phat, Patito.
The Agroprom is still kind of boring. Suddenly you turn into a robot. (Guests: Patito, Phat, BEAT, and Gahitsu)
Going into the underground to find Strelok's hideout for the 50th time this series. With Beat, Gahitsu, Patito, and Phat.
BEAT, Patito, FBM, and I am not sure who else watch me shoot zombies and crap.
Me and Beat show off how shitty the faction wars are.
BEAT, FBM, and I discover the true physics that control our world. And I also get lost in a forest.
Doing all of the boring crap in Red Forest with Stush.
Stush and Phat are with me as a thin out the bandit population.
Can BEAT and fbm believe that Limansk is the glitch singularity?
Phat, BEAT, and Kayin join me for part 1 of finishing this awful game.

I've been begging for it FOREVER

So remember how I said that this game was a piece of shit. Limansk. You cannot save in the level at all, because they will all CTD. There is a lot of fighting, so you may die a lot. The game will CTD for no reason outside of loading the game.

I was near the level when my game froze up. I have most of the level, but I can't guarantee the rest of the level being in the LP.

This level is the stuff of legends. It is a piece of shit after a handful of official and unofficial patches. The scripting causes the game to crash. The level is a straight up shooter level. No save games work in this level.
