Yeah, I've got a morbid curiosity about this, too. What is the Japanese idea of a "beefcake" type dude? Does he say, "Yummy Yummy" too?

Except the whole 3 minutes isn't necessary. Yeah, I could skip past it, but I probably wouldn't - like watching some creepy train wreck.

I think the challenge mode has to be timing actual ramen with the male timer.

Today's video starts out strong, peters out near the end, but then picks up again. I'll definitely be doing more off-camera grinding between this video and the next.

Also, there's a bit of a quality drop near the middle of the video. Fixing it would've required scrapping a lot of my editing and starting from scratch. This is what I get for trying to do fancy editing on a live recording. Sorry!

This video also makes at least one reference to Occupy, thus dating the entire thing forever.

Animal Investigation Corps does indeed have Katakana on the title screen made of animals. It says アニマル, which is... animal. Appropriate enough, I suppose.

Challenge: Waste a whole video doing the longest time option on ramen timer. Female version. It seems to make everyone less comfortable.

"King of the Castle"... is it that game where sticks or cards are labeled, one of them being the King and the others being numbered? The one where whomever got the King gives an arbitrary order to the people with the numbered items? Interesting tool, I guess?

Also, exquisite job on the ramen timer.

I'm not even finished watching this installment yet, but OMG that was hilarious..... I love the way the "Finish!" timer was ... ahem . . . strategically positioned.

I think the camera angle was bad, and it made his calves look longer than his entire upper body (head included). I hope this was a paying gig for this poor guy!!

"Muscle Ramen . . .time to eat . . . !!"

Challenge: Kick 25 items in Karate Superstar, but with the woman

...only because the idea of her displaying her fighting skills in her skivvies is such a novel concept. (Why does the guy get to wear clothes, albeit poorly maintained ones?) At least she's been animated with an athletic physique, and not all doughy and soft (a la Lady Ramen Timer).

I'm beginning to think that Japanese game designers and animators have odd ideas about women (but I guess American ones do too) - Princess Maker, anyone?

Missed it. Maybe next time, but Karate Superstar isn't one of the four jobs listed at the end of today's video. The next job to request is still open!

Today's video required me to come up with a workflow that included Sony Vegas in addition to Avidemux and Audacity, which is what I've been using up to this point. With a little more tweaking, I might reach a point where I can edit out all of the time wasted cycling games to find new ones.

But maybe there won't be that much time to waste! As of this writing, we've unlocked all of the $1 and $5 jobs and tools, all of the 2-player jobs, and two of the $10 jobs. I still have $100 in the bank; I might do some more grinding before the next video, but I'd like to exhaust the $5 jobs before we move on to the more advanced ones.

CHALLENGE:

Demonstration Roundup, but you can only turn in groups of at least 150 people.

FUTURE CHALLENGE:

Play Lumberjack while all of you are singing the Lumberjack song. You need to be playing long enough to finish the song. Challenge EX: Do not fail the game while singing.

Wow, that's a lot of money. Sacrificing sleep for the sake of a Let's Play. Your dedication is appreciated.

Also, I did squirm a little bit when you guys were debating Private Number, but you did well.

I'll accept that pronunciation, Phenwah! The game was pretty cool, but listening to DemoWeasel lose it was even better. And oh man, The Net... How painful.

I request Hell Pottery for next time.

You know, as absurd as it seems to put a game down and come back in four hours for a virtual payoff... I'm pretty sure I've done that in at least four MMOs. On an embarrassingly regular basis, even.

Work Time Fun, you teach us many things.

Wow. So is it always 4 hours, always 4 AM, or totally random? And is the payout based on how long you just sit there?

And the PSP goes to sleep on its own, doesn't it? So you need to fiddle with it every minute or two to keep the game going?

No, the screen just shuts off. That's what you saw happen right at the end of the video.

In honor of Demo's laughter, my challenge is to earn $2.00 (with either character) in the soccer-Jesus game. I think you earned $1.50 in one of your games so that shouldn't be too hard. (It might kill Demo though)

It'd be way too far off topic and long to explain fully, but min-maxing gardening in FFXI is like this, too. At times I got myself up at 3:00 in the morning to tend or harvest my crops, multiple days in a row....

(edit) knew I was forgetting something... the "crazy Japanese football" (?) at 2:30 is called a daruma doll.

It's something like $1/minute. The duration is random, but the white-haired fisherman only shows up late at night, and he's the one who asks you to come back in several hours. Which is why we started the video around midnight.

Maybe next time! Officially, the next challenge is still open.

Both of the jobs this week run on a set timer! If I'd fired up Chick Sorting, we would've had a time-wasting trifecta. Consider yourselves lucky.

I have no regrets about my vote for Hell Pottery.

Caddy's Quest! Also, let's see if you can actually get money out of Elf King and its horrifying devil faces.

Duly noted! Challenge requests from people who aren't Kala and Umbaglo are welcome, too. I know you're out there.

As soon as I can think of one, honest!

Also, WTF is perhaps the most appropriate acronym for a game I've ever seen.

I liked Hell Pottery, but it seems long, so I'll put in an additional vote for a profitable run at Elf King.

As for challenges, should I wait until you succeed at my previous one, or can I suggest another?

Go nuts! As our list of available jobs grows larger, we'll be seeing a lot more duplicates in the four assigned jobs at any given time. Having more challenges to beat seems like it'd make for better television than just cycling like we've been doing.

I'd suggest more challenges, but... playing them seems plenty challenging already. Especially Elf King. I cheated and looked at a beaten run of it, and god damn there are a lot of cheap shots.

My next challenge is to get some sort of score in Lumberjack--15-20 points or so--with--your---big toe! Since we know you have a cam and all. Sock-clad or no, your choice.
