Last time on Smellier Than A Steaming Turd! Lets Play Superman On The NES:



MAN. Did you click that link? That Superman LP even started with me sighing. So lets play something else! Lets play...whoa wait what?



"IN 1999, THE KRION EMPIRE ROBOT BATTALION DESCENDED UPON THE EARTH, AND BROUGHT THE PLANET TO THE BRINK OF DESTRUCTION.
THE KRION EMPIRE DEMANDED THE IMMEDIATE AND UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER OF THE WORLD.
WHEN THE EARTH REFUSED, THE KRION EMPIRE STARTED A MASSIVE GENERAL ATTACK.THE KRION EMPIRE SET UP LARGE BASES AT POINTS ALL OVER THE WORLD FROM WHICH THEY SENT OUT THEIR ROBOTS. THE ROBOT HORDES ATTACKED INDISCRIMINATELY.
THEIR POWER OVERWHELMED EVEN THE MOST ADVANCED ARMAMENTS OF THE WORLD.
NEARLY EVERYONE BELIEVED THE WORLD WOULD SOON BE RULED BY THE KRION EMPIRE.

BUT..."

The opening does NOT fuck around in this game. Almost as soon as you power the game up the opening scroll and cutscene loads. The earth gets invaded in the year 1999? Well thats bullshit. Because in 1994 a meteor hurtles between the earth and the moon unleashing cosmic destruction. And THEN in 1999 Julius Belmont seals Dracula away for good. But WHATEVER GAME.



After the scroll we join our hero(?) as he runs away from what I assume are Gundam heads while clutching a mysterious something or other.



Cornered! Probably shouldn't have hid in front of the longest wall with nothing to hide behind and spotlight wielding Gundam heads right on your ass. Actually there only seems to be the one robot. I don't know why he doesn't just run to the right.



Our hero(?) looks sort of like Megaman. Guess Rock is one of those "advanced armaments" that wasn't up to snuff. At any rate, our hero's (?) macguffin starts to flash! Which I would have animated but thats haaard man. Just look from one image to the other and back really really fast and you'll get the idea.



Our hero(?) raises what was apparently a staff and BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL...



Its a little red witch?! What the hey?!



Oh shes Francesca. Well that explains everything!



Haha just kidding game! You need to expla...oh you're at the title screen now. Well maybe there will be a beginning of game cut scene that will explain whats going on. Hitting start and...



Well okay then! Guess we're going in blind kids! That about does it for the opening! What will happen next?! Will we ever find out the identity of the mysterious kid from the opening or that of the lovely Francesca? Will Donny actually finish an LP? Will Bullwinkle ever pull that rabbit out of his hat?!

The Japanese version of the game has a few more cutscenes that try to explain why you're playing as a witch who's a stick and so on, but it's the usual throwaway NES-platformer plotline anyway. The evil aliens you're fighting, for instance? Literally translates to "Badguy Empire".

Yeah, not missing much.

It's a Vic Tokai game, so as far as I'm concerned they're the same aliens that showed up out of nowhere at the very end of Clash at Demonhead.

Mind striking all that out (or if a mod would that'd be super)? I might you know. Have had plans dealing with all that.

Seriously you guys don't make me change the name of this LP to "Yes I know about Magical Doropie already JEEZE". Because I'll do it.
