So wait, the sign-up thread is over here? THIS IS CONFUSING.

But sign me up. I don't know what I'll be playing yet though, I'll get back to you on that.

I'm the second though I won't be doing anything neat with my character! Maybe I'll be beating the Expansion finally?

I'm playing a fairly standard meteorb sorc - or at least the "standard" that I remember from roughly a billion years ago. But yeah.

Yeah, I don't even know what I'm doing. Originally I planned on having it all be in one thread, but I think it's better to keep them separate. I figured I'd do signups over here because...whatever.

Sign me up. I'll be playing SP Offline, Zealadin I think. I'm not going for anything fancy, just a build that I really enjoy playing.

I will be using ATMA and probably PlugY (I've never used PlugY before, but I want access to those ladder-only runewords), but I have -no- items/characters on this PC, so everything I use will be found in my game.

I dunno if this is kosher, since Bungle didn't mention it in the other thread, but there are shenanigans to get to in singleplayer by editing the D2X shortcut on your desktop! Right click it, go to properties, and then check out the target line. Add -act5 to the end of the line so it looks like this:

Code:
"H:\Blizzard\diabloii\d2x.exe" -act5
(approximately, of course; it all depends on how you installed your copy and blah blah blah I'm sure you all get the idea)

and when you start up a new singleplayer after starting the game through that shortcut your new character will be level 33 with no stats or skill points assigned and have the initial waypoints in all five acts unlocked.

Disclaimer: I've never tried this in 1.12 or higher, if that's a thing. I know this worked in 1.11 and I don't see why Blizzard would get rid of it, though.

I don't really have the time do any LP posting type stuff, but I'd totally be down with playing online with someone for this. I only have regular D2 though, so I can only do that stuff.

Huh! That's a new one on me. I'm pretty cool with whatever anyone wants to do with their offline character, but if you use this shortcut you'll have to wait until the main LP finishes with Normal Act V before you start posting. OR I WILL CUT YOU

I'll do a Realms support-oriented Paladin (Zealadin with Meditation & its prereqs and Salvation once elemental resistance is worth more than awesome HP & MP regeneration), provided anyone wanting to do Realms prods me on IRC whenever they're running. I will not, however, be posting updates in this thread—my Heart Gold LP and Sky's FFV LAP both have me pretty occupied on the LP front otherwise.

Just rolled up a fresh baby Amazon on USEast-Ladder. Any thoughts on meeting up in a common channel to facilitate in-game communication?

Alright, sign me up for a Windy Druid, but if this turns out to be a miserable experience then I'M BLAMING YOU BUNGLE!

So the LP etiquette is we wait for Bungle's LP to reach an area before we move to it, like the FF5 thread?

(I'll be on US-East Ladder)

Ok, I need to sign up here too? Right then, applying for the role of Barbarian team support with lots of Warcrys, and Concentrate for his main attack skill. It is a solid build that has served me well many a time since 1.09, and one I actually enjoy playing.

Apparently there's five codes, going from -act1 (normal Act 1, level 1 start) to -act2 (start in Act 2 at level 16) all the way up to the -act5 code I mentioned, so it'd probably be most useful as a shortcut for anyone who joins the LAP late and wants to catch up quickly. Personally, I usually use it to help me build damned fool gimmick builds that have little viability in the early game.

I've only ever beaten the game with an Assassin who spammed traps to win.

I want to win as something else.

Who can help me with this? I'm thinking Amazon or Barbarian?

I got a copy of Diablo II just now. I wasn't sure about getting it since I wondered if the original was worth while or not. Playing with TT is far more important and made the decision for me. So I'm hoping to play this with a lot of folks. I haven't decided on any character yet. I only played this once before and I went with a random Barbarian. the #TT irc channel might be a good place to get people organised together for DIABLO shenanigans.

It'll be the best Druid you ever played!

(That may not be saying much.)

(But no, seriously, it's fun!)

Indeed! I think I'll aim for putting up the first post on Monday. I'm going to do character guides and some basic game info this weekend.

For Amazon, try a Fishyzon. I've never done it, but it's such a smart build, and I trust this guy because he's responsible for the ultimate Necromancer guide. HE MADE ME WHAT I AM

If you want to make a Barbarian, you can't go wrong with Whirlwind.

Sign me up, too. D2 is crashing instantly on my new laptop, but if I can get that cleared up, I'll be playing a single player paladin ranger.

Well whadda know, I still had DII installed from the last time I had the itch.

I'm going to try something I've never done before - a lightning sorceress. I may throw a little glacial spike or frozen orb in for variety, but for the most part, it's time for some deep fried goodness.

Melpomene on US East.

Blargh, I had screenshots all the way through the first act, but I restarted in order to be on the US East realm (I was on US West). Curses, foiled again!

My sorc is the atrociously named "Owfirehot," being that I didn't want to spend two hours trying to find a decent name that wasn't already taken.

Default Arian's Trading Post

Items currently available for trade:
  • Bloodrise — I have a spare.
  • 4-socket superior gnarled staff, +1 to Energy Shield.
  • Blacktongue — although I doubt anyone here's playing a sword-barb. Still, it's there if anyone wants it.

How far do you think the first update will go? So far I've only played the Druid through the first quest (HOLY CRAP WE GET RESPECS NOW WTF) but I'll be playing more this weekend and screenshotting along the way.

Speaking of screenshots, is there any way to make DII register another button for screenshot taking? On my laptop I need to hit the function key and then the Print Screen button to get it to work, but they're both on opposite sides of the keyboard, and taking my hand off the mouse to get a screenshot on the fly like that is kinda tough.

http://www.aboutonlinetips.com/take-...l-screen-mode/

I googled for screenshotting programs and came up with this. It does pretty nicely too, and you can assign whatever button you want for screenshots. Here's a good example:

I had some awesome luck with my first session. Found this from one of the mooks on the Tamoe Highlands. It will go well with my build, upgraded versions can push it to 67% blocking and I can easily get the rest from Dex. Sure there are better shields, but I'm unlikely to find those.

Better complete my details:
Character name: Muntak
Class: Barbarian
Build: Warcry/Concentrate

Hmm, I can't really get the program working as advertised. I set it up as the directions said, but if I play the game fullscreen it tabs me out every time I take a screenshot, and it usually just takes a pic of the desktop. If I play it windowed (and select active window) it still de-highlights the DII window (but fortunately doesn't maximize the program so it's not TOO much of an interruption) but keeps the 'window border' which still gives me more steps to the editing process which I'm trying to avoid. Am I missing something?

Maybe you should use a different hotkey. I set it to F11 (since F1-10 I use for skills, but more often than not rotate through them with the mouse wheel), but at first I set it to P, which didn't help since that was also a default command (party menu). Also meant typing was an issue. So, just choose a hotkey you aren't likely to have trouble with.
