I'm pretty sure that regional college sports rivalries demand that I vote for attacking the Wolf Pack.

Also the SR-71 Blackbird is totally the bestest plane ever, so I vote for any stages containing it as early and often as possible.

The Pack isn't the last moving enemy in the game, so he can still take them on now and let the other get close.

That's what I love about UN Squadron, too. Sure, other shmups had done this before (like the 194X series) but these were actually current planes that were still flying out there, so it made the game more... "real," somehow. Even if the enemy planes were 10x larger than real-life I especially like that stealth bomber and the B-1 knockoffs.

And, IIRC, all planes except either the F-22 or the YF-23 exist, too.

Hell no! Wolfpack deserves the F-14 Tomcat

Well now, this raises an interesting question. In a normal playthrough of this game, you have about enough money to buy one intermediate plane early on and then the Efreet right at the end for the last level or two. I don't intend to grind up enough cash to buy all the planes, but I wouldn't be above using the magic of save states to do a few demonstration runs with some of the mid-tier aircraft.

So here's the deal: vote for your favorite plane, and the winning plane is the one that I'll use for most of the game. However, if there's a particular combination of plane and mission that you'd like to see, I can go back and replay certain levels to give you a taste of the other planes' abilities. I'll probably save that for the end, though, so for now you can expect the next video to be Crusader vs. The Wolf Pack.

A-10. Like there's any other choice.

Plus, you get to yell COBRAAAAAAAAA while flying it.

New video!

Now that we've taken care of those guys, where should we head next? DESERT, FOREST and OCEAN are all still options, but I think I'll save the submarine for now. The A10A is looking to be the most popular option for a new plane, so unless a bunch of people vote for something else, I'll buy that one as soon as I have enough money.

I see the FOREST for the trees...you know, the ones that blow up all awesome when you shoot them or drop a bomb on them.

Default I did learn what mercenary meant by the time Blackwater made the news, though

Another story about this game with my dad was when the "They are mercenaries like us!" screen popped up - so being a dumb kid, I asked him what a mercenary was. He said that it's a soldier that fights for money.

Unfortunately, due to my not asking any follow-up questions, what I took away from this was that no one enlisted in the military gets paid anything at all. For a while, I even thought that enlisted folks had to pay for their own room and board. (Hey, I was a kid, OK?)

Haven't watched the video yet (going to as soon as I finish this post), but I say go for the A10, since there's really no cooler plane than that. I mean really, can anyone think of a better one?

After looking at that map screen again it dawned on me for the first time to ask, how many of the Bionic Commando staff worked on this game?

I'm withdrawing my vote for forest. You don't have the right plane yet.

Get some more money in the relatively easier DESERT - save OCEAN and FOREST for testing out our mid-tier plane.

That's two votes for DESERT, two votes for FOREST and two votes to save FOREST for when I have the excellent A10A. Looks like we need a tie-breaker between DESERT and FOREST. If you guys can get this sorted out before I get home tonight, then I'll start work on the next video.

For the Luddites: text content coming soon! Stay tuned...

That's a good question! And the answer is...I have no idea. I guess we'll see once I get to the end of the game!

I don't want to waste Brick's generosity, so it's back to work for me! Are you folks man (men?) enough to handle:

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Coincidentally, I am a cat named MCBanjoMike for a weird reason. Is that close enough?

Oh hey, where are we going next? A lot of folks seem to be interested in defoliation, shall we take this party to the FOREST?
