Interesting stuff so far. I always did the Crateria Gauntlet after Spring Ball so that I could collect both of those missile tanks in a single run. Interesting to see it done so early on.

Well, as someone who's only beaten this game twice back in the day, and has only entertained fond memories since, this is blowing my mind. I will be playing this again.

It has to be something with the blocks, and it looks like you are drawing attention to the ones that regenerate. They form an arrow? Or a fitting missile graphic?

I may be wrong, but it looks like a the rows don't regenerate in a way so that you couldn't get stuck there in a morph ball, since you would naturally get there without bombs.

I tested it and the second row of blocks indeed do not regenerate. I don't really know why though.

Those blocks don't regenerate because the level designers decided they shouldn't (because they were smart). I decided to post it because I thought it was a cool little detail that reflected well on the overall polish of the game.
