Up to the very end, this game has a surprising amount of detail, side-quests, and post-game content for a cramped, rinky-dink Game Boy Color game. It's nice to know the ambition brewing in Ruin Chasers didn't completely go to waste.
Iris's battle sprites not being disasters of design and anatomy is similarly heartening. Good game, Turnip. |

I think the first part of the Egg Dragon quest was actually impressively in-depth, given the limitations. I mean, sure, it boils down to a bunch of fetch quests, but the number of steps required to even meet it is pretty mind-blowing.
And I'll always be amazed by the inside of Leong Temple. |

I still maintain that TLR is a good game. Just one that needed some proof-reading.
Also, I had no idea that Iris was not supposed to be Iris. I WAS EDUCATED. |

Thanks for the great LP, Lufia has been one of those series that I've been interested, but never played, aside from the great Lufia 2. I'm surprised they managed to pack in everything that they did on a GBC cartridge, and I really wish that they'd try their hand at a traditional RPG again, since the DS remake of two was, err, uninspiring.

Yeah, I overlooked this game because of the "downgraded pity sequel" factor, so I was surprised to learn that there was actually something to it (the uninspired localization work aside.) Great LP!

You did good, Turnip. You did good.

Um, clearly the solution was to name her Iria.
The blame partially rests on Lufia 2, as well, since they didn't differentiate between the Ir-is Treasures and Eye-ris either, and that lead to stupid rumors about how finding all the Ir-is Treasures would change the ending. |

What strikes me is how the game's plot suddenly started making sense towards the end. I wonder if they wrote that bit first, and then padded the rest of the game out with nonsense?

That's a very generous description of what happened.
