Not with the cash conditions the way they are. Seaports are freaking expensive.

Well then, let's let the prison and garbage deal funds build up.

Probably easier to just send a train link - it's got generally the same effect in the early game. At the very least, it'll buy you a few years of silence from the talking heads.

I agree, trains would be good at this point.

I really, really love this game, but I've never been able to keep from going broke after about 30 years or so. I can see I've been going about things the wrong way. Also, I constantly got screwed over on both the power and water deals. The garbage deals never gave me any problems however.

I've been playing SimCity 4 Deluxe a lot lately. I may post a few small screenshots now and then to show people what you can do with SimCity. I wouldn't hijack an LP.

For the power deals, query the power plants. If you're running between 60 and 70% of capacity, sign the deal. If not, don't bother.

Also, don't really increase it much until you get the waste-to-energy incinerators.

Do we know what happened to Walliard?

Does anyone know if this game is available anywhere as a digital download? Steam has Simcity 4 and I can buy the game new in box for something around $40 but I don't want to spend that much.

I still have the game but can't make a disc image of it and so can't play it on the netbook...

just curious

No, I think SC4 on Steam is the first back-catalog digital release from Maxis.

Default Problem solved

I hope, I picked up a new copy of the game off of ebay and will try to make a disk image of a cd that is supposed to be "brand new, never opened"

I look forward to playing this game!

In the meantime, anyone know what happened to this LP?

Not sure.

I had a great deal of fun playing this on Saturday morning, but I actually was a bit too efficient - I only got the Jail and Toxic Waste Plant "bonuses". Which is fine, actually, as the mall's the hardest one to mitigate.

My crime was low enough that I probably should've turned on legalized gambling and gotten the casino, come to think of it. And I actually used trains for once, even if I basically had to turn them into part of a transport corridor. Those damned stations are just too big and awkwardly-shaped.

Me again!

I got the game installed but am now wondering if the Unlimited version needs/is improved by any patches floating around? All the links and such provided by the game go to dead websites, so that wasn't any help...

I don't know anything about Simcity I just like playing it. I don't think I've ever done anything in the game that could be considered winning or succeeding at it though...

Who cares, there's no win condition. It'll be fun to see you drive your city to ruin.

You should rezone them from Commercial maybe. Check the RCI graph.
