Keep it comin', gents.
But seriously, that "Next!" notifier when you use Blademaster is way more satisfying than it should be. |

Great videos Kalir! Glad to see you are enjoying the Angel of Berserk run! The melee sounds in this game are so satisfying.
The only simple melee assembly I could think of was the Chainsword, but thats really just a slightly more accurate Chainsaw that counts as a knife, so its only really useful for Malicious Blades. |

In which we get way too many rare items. Seriously what.
Next run will be the Angel of Max Carnage one. Be excited, or I'll throw you into a blender. |

Where is my shoutout? I put on my nice LPing clothes and this is what I get?

So I unlocked Angel of Humanity.
Still not gonna play it. (disclaimer: this is not a real update, just a practice run I did that turned out to be insanely lucky) |

Max Carnage is the best Carnage.
BEAT's the guest commentator for this one. Also who knows, we might get Stiv back to comment on these before long! |

I got super excited when I saw Gheritt White show up, then remembered that Stiv is the Marathon nerd who was going to make this update awesome.
Fuck your show, Kalir. Last edited by Adam; 01-06-2012 at 11:56 PM. |

Don't blame me, I tried getting a Stiv for this update. And there's still a few more left, so he has a chance to tell me what a horrible person I am on camera still!

One day BEAT will actually watch a game he guest commentates on.
I really don't see the appeal of this run, you aren't a badass this game. You are a coward firing blindly into the darkness. Doom guy is cooler than that. He eats demons faces for mid day brunch. |

Well, think about it this way: for a lot of this, we're not firing blindly. We've got enough intuition to guess where exactly in the dark and ruined base we'll find the next target, and hit it before it even knows we know it's there.
But yeah it does make for a bit of boring play. If I played with something that wasn't Cateye, it would probably be a lot more exciting, but oh well! Maybe I'll do something completely balls-to-the-wall later that will make up for it. |

Wow, the graphics look really good. I wish they would let you keep old badges somehow, though.

There's a couple of files you can transfer over between versions to keep player data. I forget what exactly at the moment, but dtsund knows for sure.
|

Yeah, I've been carrying all of my player data forward through several versions now.
I think that player.wad is the important file to copy from your old version and paste into the new version's directory (it shouldn't exist in the new directory until you've played it for the first time), and score.wad is the high score file. I also usually copy the contents of my mortem directory forward for completeness' sake. |

im am clever
Also DoomRL updated again. Downside is that Fireangel is bugged and does not work, but upside is HOLY SHIT GRAPHICAL VERSION OF DOOMRL. |
#175
|
|||
|
|||
That's not the only notable bug in this version! If you're playing Angel of Pacifism and nuke the final boss, for example, make sure you dropped the chainsaw you got in the Chained Court, else the game will crash...

I don't know whether to say congrats or sorry you were horribly murdered. What are the stats on that horrific enemy?
|
#177
|
|||
|
|||
They're pretty damn scary. On average, his missiles will do about 21 damage, where your average doomguy has 50. Since we were playing Max Carnage, he could two-shot us if we didn't have armor. Speaking of armor, did you notice he has more than red armor normally provides?
Gonna start the John Stalvern/Angel of Darkness run once I get a bit more free time, I want to clear out space on the computer and I still have three unrelated videos needing commentary from Satonakaja. |

No Doomguy, you are a rougelike!

I think I have a problem.
Also I think this is probably the last DoomRL video! Oh no! Except for when Stiv does his marathon run thing whatever I'm not sure. He said he was doing something like that, I think. But yeah. I dunno. |
