So a little bit of trivia I picked up somewhere is that there was a brief period from Kuuga through Ryuki here where Kamen Rider shows, having just switched to digital cameras, just went ahead and shot at 60 frames per second for a while. And... OK that explains a lot about the weird vibe I always get off those shows.

OK so somewhere towards the back, Dekaranger has a clip show, like you do now and then, but wow it's a special one. The framing device is that some creepy stalker is sending vaguely menacing love notes to someone on the team, so everyone's all wondering who it is and who they're even addressing, and we go through every candidate over the series. And then it turns out oh everyone forgot about that one time one of the guys thought it was a good idea to infiltrate Tyler Space Durden's illegal fight club in drag and got hit on by some caterpillar alien, who is now a butterfly alien, and on having the whole disguise thing explained just shouts how his species has no concept of gender and everyone's like oh rad then and quits being all protective and lets him just be overly romantic at what'shisname.

It's kind of amazing that not only is Godzilla still relevant, but we have both a Japanese Godzilla going back to the original's vibe that everyone says is great, and a new American one coming out that's fully into the bonkers vibe the later Showa entries were playing around with. I apologize for missing an update. I had a very long internet outage. And... Spider-man vs. these other arachnid men is tied. Remember, if you're breaking yesterday's tie, to specify that that's what you're doing, and not confuse me what with the TV sized version being on the table for today. I think I mentioned but it actually was a really influential series on a lot of things to come, particular when it comes to the giant robots that would become a real recognizable Super Sentai hallmark.

You know what? Even after all these years, I'm still bitter as hell that we were denied a proper Pacific Rim sequel. We had a really interesting setup for one, and I'm pretty sure del Toro was keen to follow it up, but then as part of the whole mess of woes he's had, that didn't happen, and instead producers went and rushed one out that not only completely missed the point of everything, but also just really ruined the characters of the two actors they managed to get back for it. That said I still love the fashion sense of the mass robot production CEO there. Wish she was in a better movie.

I kinda miss the days of big international media projects. Used to be every cartoon was a mix of American, French, and Japanese animators and it really made a nice international blend. We wouldn't have kaiju movies as we know them today if not for the international crossover that was King Kong vs. Godzilla. I guess we have Wakfu/Dofus' whole Korean/French MMO/cartoon/MMO weirdness today, but still, we need to hold hands across the oceans again as a regualr thing.

Fun fact about Sukeban Deka: It's been adapted as both an anime series and this live action version, and over the live action show's run, three different girls all went to town on nazis and such with deadly yo-yos, eventually leading to a very good movie where they all teamed up together. Oh and then there was a more recent sorta rebooty movie that sucked, but still, should you ever dive in, there is so much of this series to enjoy.

Very tough matches to vote on here. I think I'm just going to vote for the two crimefighters who sling things with wrist flicks though.

Don't worry, I'm not out of Garo trivia yet! Being a monster of the week show, the better bits of it tend to have pretty cool creative demon-of-the-week types. There's a manga artist one in season 4 just summoning black and white illustrations into the real world, pretty cool and technical. There's some fight scenes between magic users that go all falling clocktower in Bayonetta. There's some weird horny ones like in the first episode where a sculptor links clay versions of his new models off them and starts like twisting off them and stuff. And then there's this generic design they use when they don't have an idea that's just like a spiky metal bunny guy... and every single episode in season 3 just has one of those what the hell is with that?

Now... I AM out of Zubat trivia. It is a profoundly formulaic series and if you've seen any given episode you've kinda seen them all. Some of the show-up-the-high-skill-goon-of-the-week scenes though are just breathtaking to watch though.

Let's see... Blade starts off VERY in media res, establishes a real high drama tone early on, and does a lot of seriously showy just go for it practical effects stuff in the first episode.
