Default BGMF: The Unused, Unreleased, and Un...complete Underdome

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE! Let's celebrate some dead songs by making them fight each other.

Bracket Here

Our first round is between an unexpected standout from a licensed movie tie-in and a track from a game I've never heard of but kind of want to play now:

Bongo Bill's The Flintsones - Unused Song 2
and
MJG's Party Hard - Main Theme

vs.

Feel free to share your thoughts about these tracks, too. Why do you think they were cut? Where would they have played? If you actually know the story behind either of the songs of the day, feel free to share that, too.

Voting is open until 8:00 PM Pacific tomorrow.

Both of these are good songs! But I have to yabba dabba vote for the Flintstones, because that was an unexpected surprise.

The Flintstones.

The version of that song linked here was uploaded by the composer, Dean Evans, who included in the description the story of how it came to be in the game. Here is what he has to say:

Quote:
After receiving lots of emails asking me to upload this, here you go. This track was never actually written for anything in particular, until I was asked if I had any unused tracks I'd written that could be added to 'The Flintstones'. There were four tracks that I contributed, those being - Password Screen, Cinema, Staff Roll and this.

The reason the tracks ended up in 'The Flintstones' was the fact that there was spare ROM space on the cartridge and the programmers wanted to fill this up with music for their jukebox. The other tracks were used in the game, but of course this wasn't at all suitable, it was however left on the game cartridge.

The Flintstones

Dean Evans could get some really good guitars out of the SNES. Here's another unused track of his with sweet guitars. (EDIT: Or this because ohmygosh their is some nice distortion in there)

Party Hard partied hard, but the Flintstones really know how to have a gay old time.

Up next: Can Alexander out-beat Beatmania?

Umbaglo's Final Fantasy 14 Heavensward - Stasis Loop
and
spineshark's Beatmania IIDX17 – DJ Mass MAD Izm* - Change

vs.

Voting once again closes at 8:00 PM Pacific tomorrow.

Right? I was surprised, too. The CT track that did get nominated is much more obscure, which is great. Also surprising: Nothing from Star Fox 2. And the beta Attack on Dollet did get nominated, but didn't make the cut.

Singing Mountain was on my long list but got weeded out. Star Fox 2 didn't even occur to me since it's about to be disqualified.

Stasis Loop

Honestly, the upcoming SNES Classic is the reason I didn't nominate any Star Fox 2 either. I might've went with Titania or something if I had.

And wasn't Singing Mountain actually used in the DS port? Would it still have qualified?
