Yeah, not that the Blights are that hard, compared to some other enemies, but an nearly inexhaustible 60-point sword is just overkill.

Wow, Stasis + is nuts! I can stop a Gaurdian and kill it in one hit with an Ancient Arrow to the laser eye. Maybe I should get a few more arrows and finally check out Hyrule Castle...

If you haven't seen it already, several NPCs imply that you should raid the castle before making your final for-reals push to Ganon. There's even a few quest items to find in there.

Ancient Arrows are a one-hit kill on pretty much every enemy, no Stasis needed. However, against anything but a Guardian, using one also prevents you from getting what they drop.

The old Zora who wants me to find all the monuments is going to have to wait a while because that garbage is infuriating. I would have liked to get the Zora Helm, but it's not worth scouring an area that size with no rhyme or reason to their placement.

This game's too big.

He'll give you pretty on-the-nose hints if you talk to him again.

Maybe some time I'll go back. I don't want to see Zora's Domain for a long time.

I found the Zora Helm by just noting that there was one named area on the map that could fit the (small number of) letters in its name I already had. Didn't hunt down the monuments.

Accurate, and one of my bigger problems with it. I know Skyward Sword had a on-rails sorta feel to it but BotW strikes me as an over-correction. For my money, it should have been about half the size.

I vehemently disagree, but I know that it changes based upon what your cup of tea is. I liked how large the world is, and I enjoyed exploring its many corners. And yeah, that Zora mission was annoying until I realized I could talk to him and figure out where they were from his hints.

There are two of them, from what I recall. The other one is close to where the Lynel is that the main quest sends you toward.

Still a 50/50 shot at getting it right on the first try.

Magnesis is also your friend while tooling around in Zora land. Just having it on will spot metal things in the various lakes.

Cryonis was the one power I always forgot I had while playing through BotW. I must've frittered away multiple hours on puzzles involving that mechanic until the inevitable forehead-slapping moment when I finally remembered I could fabricate ice blocks on water.

Same! I did a lot of really stupid things in freezing water and the bogs forgetting I could make platforms.

It even works on Waterblight's second phase! When he does his iceball mechanic, they have an oddly familiar symbol on them...

I think when I was looking something up for how to get to a shrine a guide/post specifically said "use that power you've completely forgotten about"... which I had.

Personally I think it's just because there are few obvious signs to use it. "Hey here's some water" means nothing, while magnesis has bright colors, the bombs have cracks in the wall and statis usually involves some sort of complicated machine and a shrine with a hint that stasis is involved in the title.

See that's funny because I made the connection of "water = cryonis" early so when not every shrine with water needed it I was always spending 10 minutes fucking around with making useless water pillars instead of solving the puzzle. The one where you just need to magnesis a cup underwater to catch a ball and deposit it into a slot is a notable one for me personally.

I did not really think "oh right mud is just watery dirt" and thus that such a thing meant that it was freezeable. Ah well! I'll probably start a new save on the Switch soonish.

I definitely spent a lot of time near the beginning of the game when stamina is in short supply drowning in failed attempts to swim across rivers. I didn't realize I could have been just hopping across ice blocks instead until well after I had beaten the game, when I had already done pretty much everything in the world I wanted to do.

I used Cryonis to navigate through most water. I know some people liked using the rafts and leaves but, come on, the leaf is just taking up inventory space. It may have taken longer to get to where I was going, but I ice-block hopped in most cases.

I generally solved water through the simple approach of "find somewhere high nearby, glide over it".

Arrows will break them (maybe on fire?), but the app works so much better

Yeah, I was using arrows until I ran out. And then I said, "Surely Nintendo wouldn't just leave me hanging at this pivotal moment. I have to be missing something." I thought about it for, sadly, longer than I should have and then I was all, "Wait a fucking minute.... Son of a bitch!"
