Well, sure. But I'm more annoyed because it undermines the artistic decisions behind the book, which I think is more than just about the value of the trade market…

That's part of what I mean, though. The trade market isn't just "casuals" who are going to be confused and upset if Hulk is suddenly about Jen instead of Banner or Amadeus. But that's how Marvel and DC treat it.

There's an image going around Twitter about the upcoming title Avengers 10,000 BC that has what has to be the most awesome version of Ghost Rider ever.

Is it Ghost Rider Rex? The T-Rex riding a fighter jet?

That's fine and all, but man was I hoping for a flame-headed Moonboy atop Devil Dinosaur.

Who wouldn't have really needed any sort of rebranding to work as a Ghost Rider analog.

I hope there's a caveperson with flying powers and a club who just flies around and clubs people super-hard. It's clubbering time.

Don't give them any ideas, or they might bring The Sentry back.

All of the cavemen heroes have legacy mantles that actually make sense to have existed pre-civilization. It's kind of cool.

I can't believe they'd have an Avengers team without the Captain.

Well, crud. I just read the latest Unstoppable Wasp and it turns out it's the last one! What an incredible, funny, intelligent series this was. I teared up reading this issue, without even knowing it had been cancelled! I guess it isn't easy to convince comic readers to try a book about girls, particularly ones of colour.

The kindle editions of a lot of Marvel comics are dirt cheap right now. So if you think $2.20 is a fair price for The Infinity Gauntlet or $3.00 for Daredevil Born Again or $1.80 for Ta-Nehesi Coates' Black Panther, you should probably head on over to Amazon.

So, Cable and Deadpool are getting renumberings soonish. Cable's 150 and Deadpool gets a much less glamorous number. (almost 300; really... guess that check's out) My q: does the Cable & Deadpool comic count for either/both, if it did, in fact, exist?

what's ur favorite marvel renumbering gimmick? I just got to revisit X-Factor's classic jump from 50 to 200.

Anyway, Peter David's X-Factor run ended sort of confusingly with ties to Spider-Man 2099, so I decided to check that out. I thought all the issues were on Marvel Unlimited, because the years matched up, but apparently, the last dozen are missing. Nonetheless, it's fun book. Some great 90's adventures into the virtual reality internet of the future. However, there was a crossover with other 2099 titles and it was truly dreadful. PAD only wrote the first issue, so the event compared particularly unfavorably to X-Cutioner's Song, which gave him the opportunity to make fun of this nonsense every 4 issues.

New Runaways last week! Apparently well-recieved, but I have long found these character hard to tolerate. Love volume 1, but after that I find their gimmick sort of appalling/depressing. Why are these teens allowed to keep Molly out of school to just be a homeless adventurer? And this issue brings a dead character, which is a shame, because Teens can actually stay dead in super-hero comics because they're less entrenched. A slightly moving death, now not at all! Also, Nico's power restrictions makes me anxious/annoyed. The comic's not for me! That's fine.

He is the best there is at what he does.

But what he does isn't very clear.

That sequence is just absurd.

Logan's from northern Alberta, there's no way he's support the Flames.

Well, obviously Storm is just being obtuse. Wolverine's wild speculation that Scott and Jean are on the moon is, of course, correct.

Cable & Deadpool counts for Deadpool's numbering but not Cable's.

How do you become the best at watching hockey? Is it just putting in the hours or is it about observational skills?

I read the first volume of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, before it relaunched after Secret Wars. You guys were right, it is delightful.

Improving Logan's hockey-watching abilities was a vital part of the Weapon X program. He is, in fact, able to extrapolate the action on the entire rink from whatever is being shown on TV. Pierre Trudeau hoped this enhancement could be spun off into the civilian market to help recoup the program's costs, but the heightened awareness also allowed the recipients to identify Leafs fans on sight, which was deemed to have too much impact on an already-oppressed minority population.

The current Mojo storyline is kind of stupid (essentially he's made an "X-Men Greatest Hits" TV show), but I'm 1000% on board with this part of it:

I think my dream X-Men story would be one where the majority of the team is trapped in some basement dungeon and Storm is the only one who can save them, but she's still stricken by crippling claustrophobia. And everyone's like "Storm, help us!" and she's like "No, I can't, sorry, I'm claustrophobic" in endless, self-flagellating Claremont-y internal monologue. Just this exchange of the X-Men feverishly begging Storm to help them and her rebuffing them, over and over again, forever and ever.

Maybe Banshee can be there too, I guess.

Say what you will about Claremont, at least you could distinguish the characters' voices from one another.
