Wednesday, on a very special Gunnerkrigg Court, Antimony uses the power of love to soothe the raging beast.

And when that fails, Jimmy Jams Eglamore uses a sword.

Yotengrin?

Honestly it would've been more pleasant for everyone involved, and much less messy, if they'd just done the fusion dance instead. Or used the potala earrings.

The remainder of gunnerkrigg court will now closely mirror the final arc of Pokemon Rusty.

See, it's important to give a new dog some toys, or they start wrecking the place when you leave them alone.

That's just basic pet care!

*pushes eye-glasses up* realistically, not really? Blocking the stream there will disrupt any fish species that migrate up and down the river for a time. But eventually one side will fill up into a mini reservoir, and then spill over into a mini-waterfall. Erosion and sediment buildup over time will flatten it out, leading to the river mostly going back to normal. And that's assuming nothing happens like the Court coming in with its enormous resources/manpower/robopower to just clean it all up, or coyote popping out of treedog and going LOL prank's over, I'll reset all this junk back to normal teehee.

That said, kinda crazy that one of this comic's oldest and most famous iconography is now rubble.

Gunnerkrigg Court just finished telling a literal Coyote story. That the actual bridge between humans and nature has been destroyed will have more effects than disrupting salmon spawning.

It's interesting imagery/theme to play with, because while the bridge was a literal bridge, it functioned more as a barrier between the worlds. What with it being the only point of entry into the Court which the Court heavily regulated. With the destruction of the bridge however, and the freeing of the chasm's guardian spirit, destroying the bridge between the two worlds actually has the opposite effect of separating them but rather opens the two up to unregulated contact. In the immediacy, it'll be a bad thing because angry space/tree-dog can now go on a rampage. But in the long term, it has the potential to be very good for both sides, since the division between the two was very unnatural and led to imbalances in both worlds and distorted worldviews on both sides.

I wonder of that's Coyote's angle in all of this, because there's no way an indolent rage elemental was able to just step in and acquire all his power like that. Coyote's not that dumb.

And intentionally so.

In other news; the whole situation with the Space/Tree Dog seems to be rapidly dovetailing.

What I'm saying is, I severely doubt that thing floating over the woods actually counts as Ysengrin anymore.
