Mildred has got to be wearing that Gucci Gang t-shirt ironically. She's got to be.

If this were anything else, I'd think this was a punchline throw-away joke...

If Bad Machinery is over, what are we reading now? Does it have a name?

Is this Scary Go Round again? After a near 10 year "hiatus."

That would seem to be what the title of the comic would lead me to believe. Which possibly means this is about to get a lot more lethal.

I will never stop laughing if it turns out the WEN-TACK thing is a red herring and this entire story is really about Zebus' bizarre barbarian subculture.

And the torch seems to have been passed to:

Ex-Girlfriend's
Little Sister's
Friends'
Protégés

Cool.

SAME. I wonder if we're due for another rebranding, what with the recent talk of the future of the comic.

Also, I love her closing address in this comic. It's such a kid thing to say.

ETA: That said, did anyone notice the "TO BE CONTINUED" graffiti on the table? Maybe we're about to switch gears entirely.

It's Scary Go Round. In fact, we've always been reading Scary Go Round!

Quote:
Everything’s been Scary Go Round since 2002. Bad Machinery was just a distinct sub-series designed for book collection. The names on other projects are to help me distinguish them for possible collection as mini-comics (like Giant Days, THAT, Murder She Writes, Expecting To Fly, Mordawwa etc), or for non-collection. The New Bobbins stories were strips made just to be webcomics and nothing else. Space Is The Place and The Big Hiatus were format experiments that I didn’t consider successful enough for collection. I have no plans to collect the current strips.

It looks complicated but it’s all the same thing, after two decades I just have to carve it up into distinct bits to keep it all straight in my head.
This reads a bit like revisionist history and branding exercise to me (I certainly remember Bad Machinery being positioned as a new series and clean break, not just some sub-series), but it's still clear what Allison is saying: Bad Machinery is only "over" in the sense that Allison is done with its specific story structure and setting; the Mystery Kids will continue to appear, and now in a broader range of stories; and anything set in the Tackleverse counts as "Scary Go Round".

I had assumed this was the new cast as soon as the action group was formed. I'm sure some of the old characters will still be involved. Also, some of the old old characters. And a few of the old old old characters, of course.

I thought Zebus was going to be the dullest of the new kids, but I increasingly want to know everything about him.

Every panel of today's strip, in the art or writing or both, has something to treasure.

Am I supposed to be reading Georgia's dad as Danny DeVito from Taxi, or Phil Collins at his sleaziest

I just read it all! I got Comixology Unlimited so I read all that and then I couldn't stop. So yeah, I like it a lot. I LOVE Max Sarin's art.

I've been reading her as Brigitte Nielsen. Meaning Zebus has both Eternian and Hyborian heritage.

I'm not sure that anyone other than Zebus' parents knows that.

I want Scary go Round to transform into a comic about Zebus and his family and the ensuing sword-and-sorcery rampage, with an extra side of snide political commentary.

As far as I can tell it means something like "fainting eel". Also they are definitely time-lost vikings.
