Hey man, Will Sasso has a wrestling pedigree. He's locked up in one on one action with Bret Hart!

...I wish I was joking.

Bret says it was his best match in WCW.

Anyway, I thought the segment was funny-- particularly how dead-on the Hulk Hogan impression was. I kept looking at his lips to see if something was off, wondering if maybe Hogan was secretly doing it himself...

Here's that match. It's basically a long string of fat jokes.

Anyway, so remember I said that a Flyers player (Scott Hartnell) did the Hulk Hogan ear motion at a fan who dresses up like HH at Penguins games? Well the Flyers made that into a t-shirt that they gave out at the game today and had Hulk Hogan do a promo that aired during the game (during which he starts ripping his shirt but is unable to rip it fully). Weirdest shit ever, but I kind of want one of those shirts super bad.

Thanks for the link!

And that's wild... funny how they kept it on Hogan for so long after he stopped.

I thought that too, but since they played it on the Jumbotron at the arena I think it was so people would get pumped and yell for longer.

Unfortunately that's Scott Hall.

So I guess that makes it mean and bad?

Doesn't have the same ring to it.

Holy shit, I swore that was Rick Rude, but now that you're pointing out it's Hall, I can totally see it. I never knew he had such an 80's stache like that.

Ah, I thought it was Hall at first, too-- it was the Tom Selleck mustache which led me that way-- but reading the above, figured I was just wrong.

So the WWE has had an influx of talent lately. What's everyone think of them?

Lord Tensai seems to be the one everyone hates, but he's got a really old school evil foreigner thing going(despite not being foreign). I'm a fan, and the fact they've sped up his offense as of late which helps. The "Albert" chants aren't helping him though.

Damien Sandow has been fantastic, the guy oozes charisma, and I love his character. Looks like he's about get into a feud with Tyson Kidd, who is one of those great undercard guys that could really use a push.

Ryback seems to be finally getting over. The "Goldberg" chants are wearing down, and if tonight's Smackdown is any indication, the crowd is starting to shout his "Feed me more" catchphrase with him. The dude is a physical specimen and his matches against local jobbers have been a ton of fun to watch. That lariat looks BRUTAL. I even enjoy the jobber's vain attempts at trash talk.

Finally we have Antonio Cesaro. I like his moveset, especially that uppercut. He's also got a lot of intensity in the ring. Still, I think he might have some trouble getting over. When he's wrestling, all the commentators really talk about is his damn thigh wraps. I'm not really interested in the jilted lover angle he's got going on with Teddy Long and Aksana. He's got an awful theme either. Still, I know the guy was a big deal on the indies, let's hope he gets into a good feud.

Do we count Brodus Clay, since he was repackaged and relaunched? I mean, you do have Tensai and Ryback...

Anyway, I'm digging them.

Completely forgot about the Funkasaurus, since he was around before Wrestlemania.

Anyway, I'm a fan.

Bumping this to ask if anyone caught Raw's 1,000th episode last night. It frankly wasn't very good, though there was some amusing nostalgia bits sprinkled throughout. I'll save my general thoughts about the current product later, because otherwise I'll get mean and wordy.

Yeah, I caught it. I think it did what it was looking to--essentially celebrating the show and its history. It was a pretty big disappointment that Stone Cold couldn't make it, but the highlights for me was Rock facing off with Daniel Bryan and Punk's heel turn at the end of the night (and I'm glad they had the guts to turn him heel mid-championship run and while he was still wildly over as a face).

And as stupid as it was, I actually laughed when Mae Young's son introduced himself. Overall, though the show did what I expected and it was quite a bit better than a good deal of the recent Raw shows have been.

I wrestled my first ever match in front of a live crowd last weekend. That was pretty fun.

Thanks to a buddy of mine, I have FRONT ROW seats to Smackdown in Indianapolis tonight! Not sure where exactly in the front row, but I'll be wearing a nWo black and red shirt!

Congrats! Did you win?

I remember when I was training to get into wrestling... fun times. Didn't work out, though, and probably for the best...

Oh no, I was basically masked jobber #2. It's was still a great experience. First time I've ever taken a powerbomb. Those things really drive the wind out of you if you're not prepared.
