More a time problem than a money problem. Haven't even played limited in like a year and a half.

Also I just read that card for the first time and it's hilarious.

Yep.

Step 1: Counter, counter, counter, Approach.

Step 2: Draw, draw, draw, Approach.

Two of these guys playing against each other is one of the quietest games of Magic you'll ever see.

Okay, if nothing else I definitely need some Spikes to go with my Timmies and Johnnies. Hmm, all in the same deck?

I mean, Shahrazad is cool and all, but Contract from Below is more in line with the spirit of Spike.

What does an ante do if you're not playing for ante?

Someone asked about ante cards on Rosewater's blog. "Ante no longer exists, so they aren’t usable."

Another possibility we came up with here: for some reason the store's inventory has a bunch of giant novelty collectible cards from back in the day, including a Chaos Orb that's about six inches by eight.

IIRC that was an Inquest magazine pack-in. Why the fuck do I know this?

The official ruling on Contract from Below, per Gatherer, is that it is banned in Legacy, Vintage, and Commander. Those are Constructed formats. Spike puts a card you own from outside the game that has been banned or restricted in a Constructed format into your hand. QED.

if you tried to cast the Contract, though, the game would divide by zero and core dump, so it wouldn't do you a lot of good.

They are actually in the store inventory. And are dumb expensive for some reason? The City of Brass is like 12 bucks.
