Not big on the new Money Bin design.

By which I mean the dollar sign on the front is nowhere near big enough. You should be able to see that thing from space.

I'm cool with the rest, though.

I am very into the design of the two visible Beagles.

The Beagle Boys picture makes me hopeful that they're combining the original series' distinct characters with the comic's nameless mooks.

EDIT: Oh man, Margo Martindale as Ma Beagle. I love it.

Looks like this Glomgold isn't Scottish, but is pretending to be so he can out-do Scrooge at everything. No confirmation as to whether he's a Boer.

Mark Beaks is a new money tech billionaire obsessed with his image.

They're actually running with Scrooge and Goldie meeting during the Gold Rush, and Scrooge being an industrial age tycoon. They'll probably put a lampshade on how impossibly old Scrooge must be.

That is perfect casting. This reboot is totally justified by this.

Conversation I just had with my wife upon learning this:

"Oh man, do you know who's playing Ma Beagle in the new DuckTales?"
"No, who?"
"Think of the first actress who would—"
"Margo Martindale?"

That's certainly one way to address the fact he's South African in the comics but Scottish in the cartoon.

She's a character actress who was under the radar for a while (she was in The Rocketeer, for example) but recently began to get meatier and more frequent roles after basically playing the human Ma Beagle (complete with human Beagle Boys) in the second season of Justified.

I didn't know her either, but if she's cool enough for Bojack Horseman then she's cool enough for me!

I disappeared into the role, BoJack. It's called acting.

I love that Huey consults the book before tossing it. JWC guide is always thorough.

Am I an idiot or does reboot Ma Beagle look like it's slightly inspired by Ma Fratelli

In that Ma Fratelli was also supposed to look like an over-the-hill gangster moll, yeah.

Were it me, I'd have Scrooge find the Fountain of Youth some years ago, only it's not quite everything it's quacked up to be.

And no one believes him on it, of course.

You should find the story where he does. Barks manages to nail colonialism and land speculation in a kid's comic

Nice, and I'm not surprised. Did he actually drink from it, though? That's the clincher.

He doesn't just drink from it! It's a quick read, and really fun.
