Daisy's plans are similar.

Investigate: 14. Ouch, glad I got that out of the way early. Still beats the shroud so gain a clue.

Hunt for cards and resources

Pull out my Librarian friend and have him get me a book

Maybe use the book depending on what it is. I'll let you poke your head into rivertown before I decide where to move.

Picking through the detritus in her house, Daisy finds her backup Holy Rosary. "Don't leave home without two," she's always said.

Just then, her librarian friend shows up. "I brought you that book you asked for," he says.

"Great," says Daisy. "What book was that again?"

"I don't know," he says. "You didn't tell me."

Yorick pokes around in Daisy's house, too. He doesn't find much of interest, but he does come to an interesting realization: if you move out of the way when an enemy is attacking, you can Dodge the attack!

Inspired by his epiphany, Yorick heads to Rivertown.

There are a couple of clues in plain sight here, but Yorick isn't confident that he'd know a clue if it hit him right in the face. Rather than risk an embarrassing failure, Yorick procures the magical Key of Ys.

Let me know which tome the librarian is grabbing for you. I believe your options are Medical Texts, Old Book of Lore, Encyclopedia, and the Necronomicon. (You should not pick the Necronomicon.) It goes to your hand if it's not the Necronomicon, though, so you won't get the chance to use it this turn.

"It doesn't have a title," says Daisy. "We just called it the 'old book of lore.'"

"Right," says the librarian. "Here it is."

Attracted by the smell of old paper, Dr. Milan Christopher arrives. Meanwhile, in Rivertown, Yorick finds the wad of bills he stuffed in an old sock.

Speaking of smells, a Hunting Nightgaunt has Daisy's scent. A thick fog rolls into Rivertown. For Daisy, it's no big deal, but this will seriously impede any investigative attempts Yorick might make.

Doom: 1 (+1)

Daisy Walker

Location: Your House

Clues: 1
Assets: Research Librarian
Threats: Hunting Nightgaunt

William Yorick

Location: Rivertown
Resources: 4
Assets: Key of Ys

Your House: 1 clue
Rivertown: 2 clues, Obscuring Fog
Southside: Acolyte (1 DOOM)

The nightgaunt is bound to put a damper on your plans. It's not fast, but any negative modifier is enough to keep you tied up. What's a librarian to do?

The nightgaunt is a hunter, so it will eventually follow us to Rivertown and beyond, but if you evade it this turn, it won't move just yet. Ideally, I think you'd want to evade, investigate, move, but that requires some cooperation from the chaos bag and/or Mind over Matter intervention.

Yorick plans to punch a cultist (triggering Evidence!), but he'll probably whip out his Baseball Bat first -- not because the Acolyte warrants it, but because he'll need it against the nightgaunt eventually.

Didn't take long to use up one of those super dranks.

Mind over matter
Evade. 8 (-4 with the double), success
Investigate 10 (-4), librarian friend trips over the clue and hands it to me oops, accidentally read Milan's description. Stupid Librarian doesn't help me investigate at all. Need to come back for that clue later, I guess.
Book it to rivertown

Here's hoping I'll have a chance to actually play some of these stupid cards next round.

Yorick heads to Southside.

Two of the locations in this chapter have two versions. This could've been Ma's Boarding House instead.

Yorick punches the Acolyte:

He folds like a wet napkin, and Yorick discovers Evidence! Yorick then pulls out his Baseball Bat to prepare for a beatdown.

The nightgaunt recovers. Daisy readies her Guts against what's to come, and Yorick silently vows that he won't die tonight... or at least "Not without a fight!"

A completely different nightgaunt picks Daisy up and drops her back where she already was. The fog rolls into Southside, too.

Doom: 2

Your House: 1 clue, Hunting Nightgaunt
Rivertown: 2 clues, Obscuring Fog
Southside: 1 clue, Obscuring Fog

Mind over Matter is still in effect for On Wings of Darkness, so you have half a chance of getting away unscathed.

Seems like there are clues all around, so don't feel like you need to investigate Rivertown before you go. With the Hunting Nightgaunt ready to go, it's probably wise for you not to settle into Rivertown.

There's nothing nearby to kill, so Yorick will probably just kill time this turn, playing Emergency Cache and maybe pulling the three cards from the Historical Society.

Rolled a 12, so that's a skull. Just -1? Think I'm okay.

Will swap out my research librarian for Dr. Milan
Investigate once: 1. One clue for the bag + a resource.
Check out Easttown.

The skull is 0 right now, since I killed the only cultist.

Daisy swaps one friend for another, then she pierces the fog to find a clue. As if in response, the fog vanishes from Rivertown. Daisy heads east.

Easttown is a hopping place, even late at night. It'd be easy to find a friend here, but Daisy already did that twice.

Yorick peruses the Historical Society for any records of interest. He finds his old buddy Peter, who teaches Yorick a combat technique for dealing a Vicious Blow. Live and Learn, I guess.

Yorick digs into his Emergency Cache. He'd saved it for a rainy day, and the weather tonight is awful.

Finally, having done everything he can think to do here, Yorick heads to the university.

This is much more Daisy's scene. What is Yorick going to do here?

The Hunting Nightgaunt advances to Rivertown, barely too slow to catch up with our heroes.

Daisy recalls the spell she used against the Ghoul Priest. That was a good spell. Yorick is surprised to see Peter again, but then Peter does live on campus.

The wind that blew away the Rivertown fog chills Daisy to the bone. Yorick suddenly realizes he forgot to wear gloves when handling the evidence.

Yorick drops his clue at the university. Fortunately, there are no cultists in play to take the doom.

You should commit Guts and possibly one of the Rosaries to this skill check; failing means losing the good doctor.

We might as well wait for the nightgaunt to come to us. Daisy should be investigating full-time, and Yorick can cash in the clues for a cultist.

Committed guts and rolled a skull (11). The cold never bothered me anyway.

Investigate twice (15, 16). Only grabbed one clue and I really need to pull that stupid book out, not doing me any good.

Play Old book of Lore.

Use it.

Daisy braves the cold and feels more confident as a result.

Daisy turns up a clue, and Dr. Christopher turns a buck on it.

Daisy produces the old book of lore. Flipping through the book, Daisy notices chapters on Manual Dexterity, Clarity of Mind, and, oddly, her own Tote Bag. But she only has time to read one!

I know I said it'd be a good idea to wait for the nightgaunt to come to us, but if Yorick goes anywhere but Southside or Rivertown, the nightgaunt won't be adjacent, so it'll have to chase Daisy.

So Yorick heads back to Rivertown and hits the nightgaunt with his bat:

The nightgaunt falls to the savage assault.

Daisy has a hunch about the cultists' whereabouts, and killing the nightgaunt gives Yorick an unexpected burst of courage.

In what can only be described as an embarrassment of riches, both investigators have gone over their hand limit.

Ah, shoot. You already spent Guts. I just forgot to remove it from your hand.

The good news is you're not over your hand limit.

It's closing time at Miskatonic University, and Yorick finds that even the shadows are out to get him.

Arkham Asylum is flush with clues, but picking apart the truths from the babbling of madmen will prove difficult.

Since Working a Hunch is fast, Daisy has another action plus her tome bonus action.

Oops, should致e held that hunch for something a bit tougher, eh?

Hyperawareness assisted investigation is successful anyway (3). Assuming I have the resources for it.

See what the old lore book has to say.

The old book speaks of ways to Expose Weakness, translate Archaic Glyphs, and solve mysteries via Deduction.

Yes, Yorick is gonna find us a cultist.

It probably is!

Yorick pieces together some of the clues Daisy has gathered. If bodies have gone missing from the morgue, there must be a cult leader in the hospital staff!

The hospital is right next door, but Yorick decides to convince Peter to join the cause before paying Ruth a visit.

Ruth then clocks Yorick over the head with her fancy skull. It hurts, but Yorick is literally in a hospital, so he can have that injury looked at later.

Daisy discovers her own Emergency Cache, and Yorick finds a spare Baseball Bat.

The shadows that were hunting Yorick now take to Daisy. Elsewhere, another jerk cultist makes his move.

(Note: imgur is acting up all of a sudden. If the second image isn't showing up, it's this guy)

I'm gonna stick this guy in Rivertown for easy punching later on.

Doom: 5 (+1)

Daisy Walker

Location: Downtown
Resources: 3
Clues: 1
Assets: Dr. Milan Christopher, Old Book of Lore, Hyperawareness

William Yorick

Location: St. Mary's Hospital
Resources: 5
Damage: 3/8
Assets: Key of Ys, Baseball Bat, Peter Sylvestre

Your House [1]: 1 clue
Downtown [4]: 3 clues
Easttown [2]: Empty
Miskatonic [4]: 3 clues, Locked Door
Rivertown [1]: 1 clue, Wizard of the Order (1 DOOM)
Southside [3]: 1 clue, Obscuring Fog
St. Mary's [2]: 2 clues, Ruth Turner

We are at the doom threshold thanks to Mr. Wizard, but he doesn't force an agenda check, so the agenda will advance next turn.

I recommend eating the two damage. Yorick will "interrogate" Ruth this round and hopefully use the spare action to heal up, and next round, he'll tackle the Wizard.

Yes, will take the damage.

Will investigate again using deduction and hyperawareness. Rolled 12 which should clear the shroud by more than 2 so will pocket two three! clues and gain a resource.

Will pull out a rosary to clear my hand a bit.

Cash 2 more clues to pull another cultist.

Old book of lore.

The book has new chapters about Shrivelling, Unexpected Courage, and Psychosis (just in case you wanted to grab yourself some Psychosis).

Daisy realizes that the creepy dude standing right in front of her is a cultist!

Brilliant deduction, Daisy!

(For the sake of not screwing up your turn, I'm going to retroactively assume that you cashed in the clues after using the book.)

Yorick hits Ruth with his Baseball Bat:

That's one cultist in the books! Yorick sees a doctor while he's here.

The Wolf Man takes a bite out of Daisy.

We'll draw after you decide which card you're getting.

Daisy uncovers another Emergency Cache, and Yorick realizes he can still Bury Them Deep.

We've reached our doom limit, so let's flip the agenda card.

It's an enemy! You'll recall that our cultist deck had five cultists at the start of the game. The Masked Hunter is the sixth cultist. Fortunately, Daisy spent all her clues, so we have the option of spawning him at Yorick instead of Daisy, and I think that makes a lot of sense.

Two new Acolytes enter Arkham, and the Wizard gets another doom of his own.

I recommend putting them at Miskatonic and Southside so that Yorick can deal with the Acolytes and Wizard all in a row.

Doom: 0 (+4)

Daisy Walker

Location: Downtown
Resources: 4
Damage: 2/5
Assets: Dr. Milan Christopher, Old Book of Lore, Hyperawareness
Threats: "Wolf-Man" Drew

William Yorick

Location: St. Mary's Hospital
Resources: 6
Assets: Key of Ys, Baseball Bat, Peter Sylvestre
Threats: The Masked Hunter

Your House [1]: 1 clue
Downtown [4]: Empty
Easttown [2]: Empty
Miskatonic [4]: 3 clues, Locked Door
Rivertown [1]: 1 clue, Wizard of the Order (2 DOOM)
Southside [3]: 1 clue, Obscuring Fog
St. Mary's [2]: 2 clues

Victory: Ruth Turner (1), Downtown (1), Miskatonic (1)

Despite having just flipped our previous agenda, we're already halfway to the next one, and Yorick isn't in a position to help Daisy this turn. Masked Hunter's gotta go, and at 8 health, that's gonna take a little time.

Daisy might want to use Blinding Light and then try Persuasion on the Wizard. We'll need more clues before long, but right now, the cultists are a ticking time bomb.

Yorick is over his hand limit, so he'll toss a "Not without a fight!"

Unfortunately I think I still have at least one clue. I got three from that deduction, unless rolling that skull brought me down to 5 or less lore. I was also sitting one one so probably still have 2 banked.

I also took the two damage from the last mythos phase so the wolf痴 hit of two will put me at 4?

Deduction and one rosary were also used from my hand last round.

edit: I知 thinking my best bet will be to try to persuade the eite cultist and blinding the wolf. Those are both successful evades so should work to get them on the victory pile? Oh wait that was just Ruth. Yikes.

It's two clues per investigator, so you're definitely out of clues (for better and worse).

You're right about the damage. Yikes. The "good news" is that you have Dr. Christopher as a slight health buffer (and, come to think of it, you should have one more resource from him).

You could evade the Wolf-Man with Persuasion, but it's a harder check.

Gotcha, missed that.

I知 fine with putting the alcolytes where you suggested.

I値l try blinding the wolf: 5. Should be okay.

What do you think, try and make my way to the hospital to heal up (or did you use that up), or chase down the wizard and give him a talking to?

edit: oh wait, he isn稚 elite so I could actually remove him from play so that would be good but I can稚 get to him this turn, right? Unless I知 wrong will move a step closer in eastown, use a cache and my lore book.

The old book has chapters on The Necronomicon, Clarity of Mind, and... Thermos? Isn't that still under trademark as of 19whatever? Product placement, I tell ya.

I'm guessing you'll want the thermos.

Yorick will fight the Masked Hunter, but "Not without a fight!"

That ends up being the perfect amount of fight to put into the fight, but for round 2, Yorick is feeling luckier.

Can Yorick go three for three against the masked menace?

No! But Yorick is willing to Live and Learn.

And that's enough to get the Masked Hunter to 6 damage (out of 8 health). Yorick is willing to take an attack from the Masked Hunter, since it means he'll finally be able to stick some horror on the Key.
