I know it's a brand new genre and they're flying by the seat of their pants here, I just hope they figure out this whole "massively multiplayer online" thing before it's too late.

It's not a brand new genre though; They had all three Borderlands games and both Destiny's to lift from just from the looter-shooter genre not to mention all the other Diablo-esque games out there with randomized loot and strong online elements.

This just feels ironically like another Fallout '76 situation; where a studio that had no experience in the genre was forced to make something in that genre in an extremely short timeframe in order to capitalize on the genre's popularity.

Boy, am I really glad I didn't buy Anthem for my PS4 now!

Seriously though, I hope they get this worked out.

Turns out it's not a complete bricking, it just corrupts the database the PS4 runs off of and that can be rebuilt/compiled. Which is still fucked up enough because that can cause real data loss regardless or damage the hardware through improper operation.

But the thing is, BioWare does have experience in the MMO genre. Maybe not specifically with looter shooters, but their Austin division has been running Star Wars: The Old Republic for over seven years now.

Like, I get that there's not necessarily much overlap between the two teams, but BioWare in general should still have some idea of how to do this shit right by now.

So hey, Kotaku did a story on the development problems for Anthem and it sure sounds like it was a nightmare!

It's been a while since I read the Mass Effect Andromeda equivalent of this article, but it seems like pretty much the same read. I have to go to sleep for work but man, this is just brutal to read. RIP Bioware

Sometimes at work I'll make a joke about something going on in the hospital and people are like "No, shut up! You're gonna jinx it!" And I'll say the same thing to them that I'm going to say to you now:

I don't have the kind of power you think I have.

I had a free Redbox coupon and checked this out tonight. I've played an hour or so and it's just kind of... there. I dunno, I'm glad I rented it to check it out but boy is it a mess. The graphic quality varies way too much, things just don't work and why on earth do I have to press the "salvage" button 8 million times?!

Also Owen is just Vic from Red vs Blue.
