Nothing to worry about, it's just an example of a Northern Speckled Knifebird. Most violence is strictly knifebird-on-knifebird but it's still a good idea to give their territory a wide birth

(I'm making fun of people who express racial stereotypes)

Some sharks have eggs that hatch inside the mother's body. It's pretty common for the babies to eat their siblings' unhatched eggs.

Don't they also fight Highlander rules if they all hatch around the same time (or something like that)?

It's not fog, either.

Part of me wants to know what the story is behind the snail thing.

A much, much larger part of me would like to never know and just have a massive perimeter defense erected such that I need never acknowledge the class Gastropoda even exists.

"All calculations have wide error margins." and also I would assume this sample is from the past year or something and probably utterly ignores Africa in general.

It's due to a parasitic disease released by the snails in underdeveloped countries.

Wolves aren't safer than dogs. A wolf would tear you to pieces if you put a collar on him and called him Mr. Piddlefluffykins.

Deaths via dogs (and rabies) are more common because people are much more likely to be in contact with dogs since we domesticated them.

I wonder if "Dogs (rabies)" is seriously just infections spread by dogs, or if they are just attributing all rabies to dogs.

Also should probably have deaths by dog attacks on there, too.

It's so much easier to research shark deaths though, usually those get reported.

You are at a bar and someone tells a story about a dog they got bit by. You decide they are idiots because honestly, dogs are pretty familiar, the tricks are well established, for example don't turn your back and don't show fear... if nothing else the common-ness of the knowledge provides an excuse to be dismissive about their intelligence.

Vs.

You are at a bar and someone PULLS THEIR PEG LEG UP ONTO THE TABLE and tells you about their swimming trip.
