Royal Rumble next week WHO'S GONNA WIN? I want The Miz to win, he deserves it. He's been MVP since I started watching (not MVP, the wrestler. An actual MVP).

Talk about wrasslin'

If I had to pick a favorite Wrestle Kingdom, it would probably be WK8.

Just look at this trailer. If you don't know shit about NJPW, you just learned enough to enjoy the show.

e: Also it has punk rock Back to the Future, complete with DeLorean.

Obviously they had to dial back the budget a little bit after, and it's a good show, but this is some kinda peak in terms of presentation

I had to dump the WWE. I just can't keep giving money to a company that has Trump in the goddamn HALL OF FAME. That and I just fell out of a lot of the storylines.

I tend to get into wrestling for small stretches every few years anyhow so I was overdue.

There are rumors that FOX wants to buy the WWE and that would probably put Raw back to two hours (most Fox networks have news at 10).

Is there a not-sketchy way to watch that Jericho match? I don't suppose it's one YouTube? I'd even be willing to pay a few bucks if they do it like that.

NJPW World is their streaming service. It's dirt cheap and they have loads of english content if that's your thing.

speaking of rumbles the scholar kendall shields did a good rundown of the New Japan Rumble at this year's Dome show.

There are literally yearsí worth of All Japan Women shows on dailymotion if you want to watch great womenís matches without materially supporting fascism.

I feel obligated to respond to this? I dunno. I like WWE, I like its performers. I like having (legal) access to every Raw, SD, Heat, Nitro, ECW, etc. I don't know that I should particularly feel bad about that?

I'm not asking you to feel bad. I'm pointing out that McClain can enjoy good women's wrestling without going back on his choice not to give material support to fascism.

Y'all, it's cool, I just have dumb personal reasons to not want to support WWE right now. No one else has to follow me.

I am looking forward to the women's rumble! I feel like having two royal rumbles in one night may make the show feel a bit long, but the winner of the man rumble isn't Known as far as I've read yet. I'm excited!

Hey Iím sorry for implying something hurtful. I like mma, and the biggest mma org out there is ufc and is just as awful as wwe politically. For my part I keep my eyes open, understand what a portion of my dollar is going to support, and make sure thatís a cost Iím willing to pay. Sometimes it is, other times itís not. Itís a choice and I doubt anyone who is paying attention makes it lightly.

Also I hope the womenís rumble is good and I think itís a shame that Paige had to medically retire just as her career was supposed to take off

I wish they had made the women's rumble the main of the February show rather than cramming two into one night. Though it does kind of make it like the old Survivor Series shows that always had two (or more) huge cluster fuck events, so that's kind of fun.

A rumble is one of the few things I count on wwe to book consistently well, possibly because they only do one per year.

I'm not gonna lie, guys. Not supporting the WWE and not watching the Network just because Donald Trump is in the Hall of Fame just seems kind of... I don't know... dumb? I mean yeah, Trump is a terrible, terrible person. But he's in the Hall of Fame for being in the Wrestlemania "Hair vs. Hair" angle that did record business and for giving Wrestlemania 4 and 5 a building to have their shows in. He's not part of the company. He's not receiving a paycheck from them. He's just a celebrity who had his time in the WWE sponsored spotlight. Like anybody else.

I wouldn't let it bother me too much, if I were you. Its all good.

VKM and family are hardline old school Jim Crow reactionaries and Linda McMahon is a player in the Trump admin. The wwe hof is a fake idea.

The McMahon family's OpenSecrets page is useful reading. Six mil to Trump's super PAC and various six-figure whacks to other right-wing groups.

it's on some massively shady russian tube site that will probably give your computer AIDS but another match I greatly value is Shinjiro Otani vs. Kazushi Sakuraba, from the days before Saku had been beaten into his current state of semi-decrepitude (he is still awesome though). love the part where Saku is like TRANSFORM! PRO STYLE! and slaps on the scorpion deathlock and the crowd totally loses it.

Even BAD rumbles are still fun. Batista winning in 2013 to raucous booing remains a highlight.

Are dirt sheet rumours of winners considered spoilers? I've heard scuttlebutt and I have OPINIONS

I personally like to watch wrestling as it comes and not know every "smark" behind the scenes story, so I think spoiler tagging would be a fine idea.
