I don't know about the Adventure Time game's difficulty level, but SMT4 will wreck you if you underestimate it. The difficulty's pretty front-loaded though, it gets easier once you start getting access to more stuff.

I felt SMTIV was lacking in strategy. You're always either crushing or getting crushed, without much in the middle.

So, almost literally Pokemon, with the entire difficulty scale turned up a few notches. (That is, in Pokemon, the hardest part is arguably the first gym because of your limited type options when dealing with it and your sub-par moves.)

Right then, I know what I'll be getting. Thanks.

My splurging on both NES Remix and Knytt Underground has eaten up my buffer of eShop credit that I was using as a safety net in case Santa did not determine me Nice enough to give me either/both Link Between Worlds or Mario 3D World.

Dang... DANG!

I got to find some Nice Deeds to do, QUICK!

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance just crashed on me fairly deep into a level. Dunno if it's a bug in the game itself, a problem with my copy, or a sign that my GameCube is dying. None of them are appealing options.

I put in an extra hard drive on the bargain bin dual-core yesterday so I'd finally have room to give my Steam copies of the Zeno Clash games and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath a try, but it's that MOST wonderful time of the year, where the internet goes out intermittently when the ground gets too wet.

Yay for shitty telecoms!

I'm finally ready (and have the eShop credit) to buy and play Picross e3, but of course now the 3DS eShop is down.

I've been binging hard on both Skyrim and Oblivion for the past couple weeks, and now I'm really wanting to play more of Elder Scrolls Online. I played in the last closed beta, but I didn't get very far and I wasn't really invested in the time I did play it. I'm not sure when the next beta test will be, and I don't think it's even guaranteed I'll get to play it even though I filled out their survey and posted a couple things on the forums.

Playing State of Decay and getting to where I need to add more survivors and build up my base in that game has made me really want a Suikoden-style survival RPG. It doesn't need to be about zombies, but I would love a game where you build up a party of people, go exploring, find other people with skills and recruit them for your base. I just think it would be so fun with a plot that wasn't the typical Suikoden war story. Even if it had a similar art style, a story focused on recruiting enough people to survive and rebuild civilization after some big calamity would be great.

When I was playing State of Decay I was thinking the same thing! Not the Suikoden part (never played em), but the finding skilled party members and adding them to your base. I really wish State of Decay had gone a little farther with that idea.

I would love to play a game with recruitment based base-building as a focus.

You've already played Skies of Arcadia, right?

Yeah, and that's not what I'm talking about. I mean something with similar gameplay to Suikoden 1, 2 or 5 and your goal is to recruit enough people for your base to survive after some kind of civilization-destroying calamity. And similar to Suikoden, your ending would vary depending upon how many people you recruit.

Skies of Arcadia is a fun game but the recruiting/base-building aspect of it is kind of limited.

Grabbed the Vapor Trail Bundle off Indie Royale since it had Pixeljunk Shooter, but I forgot that requires DirectX 11, which I can't install because all I have is XP.

Don't particularly want to plunk down for a new OS right now!

I could maybe set up a Linux dualboot or something but ppbbbttttt i'm not doin' that

I am having too much fun with multiplayer (Torchlight 2, Path of Exile, plus a little Modern Warfare 3 on the side) to devote any time to Avadon! Help!

I'm not playing the unannounced, possibly non-existent sequel to Rayman Legends, the second-best game of last year.

The European release of Rune Factory 4 has been cancelled. Until today I regarded the 3DS' region lock as a fairly minor nuisance. I can wait a few extra months for games, no big deal. What I cannot is wait FOREVER. So it has graduated from "minor nuisance" to "most hateful and darnable thing".

Metal Slug 3 gets announced for Steam and all I can do is groan that this lumbering thing is still considered the best of the series when the actually well-paced Metal Slug X is right there. Also, what the fuck, put the Anthology on Steam, you holes.

(Don't get me wrong, I like 3. I just think it's overwrought and plays like molasses compared to basically any other game in the series, 6/7 excepted. X is easily the best, to me.)

I would probably be playing Strike Vector right now, but it looks like it doesn't have stick support, and who the hell wants to fly aeroplanes with a mouse.

I guess Sony doesn't feel that it's worth the effort to port/make stuff for Vita at this point. I would live to play Don't Starve or Rogue Legacy on my Vita, but alas, they are only on PS4 for some stupid reason.

Looks like it's nothing but shitty otaku-bait and Monster Hunter clones for me!

Vita is terrible, you guys

I don't know how much of that is snark, but Rogue Legacy is coming to Vita, and Don't Starve is being considered too.

Well then, I rescind my snark. I do need something to play on the Vita sooner, however. Spelunky is good, right?

Sorry, that means you miss this portable generation. Try again in a few years.
