Default End times, kid: Breaking Bad season 5

We have a premiere date - July 15 - for the first half of the final season, so seemed as good a time as any to kick off the thread.

I guess all we can do is speculate at this point, but who even knows what those crazy assholes have in store?

Crazy. Excited.

My friend from Austin, my wife and I will all be attempting to re-watch the entire series in the week leading up to the premier. Soon, it will be time to break the plastic on those Blu-Rays! For now, I'll just continue to try and pretend the show doesn't exist. It's the only way to get through life.

I've been really excited about the upcoming season, I'm going to actually be trying to keep up with it as it airs, rather than waiting and then mainlining the entire season in a weekend.

Yeah I said it in the original post. Blame Mad Men for needing to buy a $250,000 Beatles song.

From what I understand, this was a compromise between the creators and AMC. The creators want to end the story this season, because come on, we're at that point, and AMC wants to milk the show for all it's worth, because money. So they settled on one season split in two halves, or two mini-seasons, however you want to look at it.

If I had to choose between the show ending the way it should, but with a longer wait to get there, and the show spinning its wheels, but with more episodes, I'd choose the former, no question.

Agreed, I was just hoping for a shorter break, like they did for the Walking Dead. But if it means a better ending ...

I kinda wish the poster said "I won". But it's still pretty badass.

Also, they can bowl too.

This makes me even less likely to watch Mad Men.

By the by, according to Amazon, Season 4 comes out tomorrow. I hope my DVD player is ready for some serious action!

Apparently MAD magazine parodies haven't changed at all since I stopped reading the magazine, like, 20 years ago.

Well considering that they were exactly like that 20 years before we started reading them...the first issue was in the early 50s!

Incidentally, I will totally buy this when it comes out

And here's a new trailer.

Looks like Walt is getting the hang of guns and shooting people. Also Mike!

For those who really can't wait, here's a 2 minute clip from the premiere. As expected, not really much of anything is revealed (that second trailer teases way more in less time), but it's a nice little taste of seeing everyone back on screen before the real thing.

Finished my re-watch of the series earlier than expected. Watching season 4 again, it's way more cohesive than I originally thought. I loved it.

Season 5 basically starts with a clean slate, which has me ridiculously excited.

Now ... to tolerate the next two weeks of living by watching stuff like this.

I'd say it's the most cohesive season. Season 3 in particular is fairly episodic and bounces all over the place.

That kind of thing is hard to judge when you're watching week to week.
