It will be much more difficult, but it could be done. If you have Google +, Facebook, and Twitter, and you visit the eShop and Miiverse weekly, you'll earn platinum points.

I haven't received my 200 Platinum points as a reward for my fealty to Club Nintendo. What more do you want from me, Mario?!

Check your email Sprite. Should be a code in the announcement letter.

Oh, thanks for that heads up! I missed it at the bottom.

Also the existence of a way to enter codes at all gives me hope there might still be codes in physical purchases.

In my G-mail:

Quote:
Additionally, as a former member of Club Nintendo, you’ve qualified for bonus My Nintendo Platinum Points.
Try to sign in with that e-mail address, same G-mail I've always used, password doesn't work. Try to reset it and:

Quote:
This e-mail address has not been registered to your Nintendo Account, so your password could not be changed.

Please try again using the e-mail address you used to register your Nintendo Account.
What the fuck? BUT YOU JUST SENT ME THE GRRGGHHBBBHHHAHHH

I guess I have to make a whole new account? Why didn't they say that, then??

Edit edit edit: Okay, I got it, sheesh. No smartphone so no Miitomo for me, frrrrrrt

Especially since you can log into your Nintendo Account using your Nintendo Network ID.

Go to the new site, click sign in, click sign in with your nintendo ID below the sign in field, create a new account (that has all your old info), go into my nintendo, click some stuff to get your coin box or whatever, then click the menu in the top left corner and there will be a "redeem code" option. Of course, you can't copy and paste the code in the e-mail, because it does not allow hyphens and will not copy the letters in order.

Probably delayed, mine just came in this morning. Also, if you see your Mii holding a present on the My Nintendo page, keep clicking the present for a hidden mission and some (10) platinum coins.

I got an email this morning. What are the rewards for doing this? Is it the same as the old Club Nintendo stuff, or something different?

It's all digital stuff. Free games, coupons, in game items.

Curiously, the discounts on games seem to be based on your purchase history and, also, are made up of games you already own.

I'm fairly sure they are the same coupons for everybody. And, in a first for Nintendo, the rewards are the same worldwide (which is big news here because until yesterday we had no way to purchase and install a 3DS game from the web in Europe).

At the moment, yeah. But Nintendo has said on multiple occasions (and there's even a button in the menu for it) that there will eventually be personalized discounts and offers.

Yeah - I've seen the empty "Just For You" section (which, confusingly enough, is in the Nintendo Account homepage, not the My Nintendo account page).

I did all the stuff and linked Twitter/Google+ but not Facebook and that was enough!

Make sure you Show All Missions on the mynintendo page and poke everything to get all the coins redeemed. Also the 200 coins from the email helped.

I had exactly 1000 this morning. It's 1000 combined of platinum Miitomo points + plain Platinum from the mynintendo page. You get some platinum Miitomo daily from being responsive. Also the Mario block gave some points yesterday (but not today?)

The wife is sitting at 965 despite doing all the things (even Facebook) so she must have missed some daily reward or something.

I don't have a smart device, so I'm SOL. Wish they would just let me buy my goddamn Picross.

Try Bluestacks. It's not perfect but might get you some of the smartphone stuff you need for your free games

Same. I mean I have a smart phone but it's a 50 dollar Windows phone I got after my legit phone kicked it. But even without Miitomo I got 780 coins, so I'm right up on the edge of picross. The 1000 seems pretty easy to get.

Question: Can Gold Points be earned by buying DLC or does it have to be a full game?
