I was impossibly drunk earlier.

My friends think I punch really hard when drunk.

I had a beer during the TT CoD4 session tonight. That's the same thing as being drunk, right?

And aren't you still in High School?

For shame, cortbassist89! Though, I wish I could have gone to parties and drunk with friends during that time period. But...you know...I had a girlfriend who was substantially younger than me (only by a little over two years) at the time so I only ever did safe stuff with her...like hanging out at the park.

...Crap, I really regret my senior year now. You know what, I congratulate you, Cort! Well done.

OOH !!! My turn!

Well I'm not "impossibly drunk", but I am nicely buzzed so, yay me I guess.

Edit: *Level UP* Yeah I'm pretty drunk now.

I reserve a spot in this thread for tomorrow night. I think I'll probably need it.

I am not nearly at the levels of relationship-destroying intoxication that I have been subject to in the relatively recent past (should any of you net goons insist upon pics, lest said event be held not to happen, rest easy, they do, in fact, exist), I am, conversely, not sober. Not at all.

My point? Put simply, my point is but this: you guys are alright.

I am just coming down from a 12 hour substance abuse binge. My kidneys hurt, but I regret nothing (now at least)

EDIT:
Also, the kegger I came back from had a guy there that looked just like Brickroad. He briefly stole my fedora.

I'm slightly drunk now. Yes, it's before five.

You see, my professor took the class out for lunch. So I had some wine. And some more wine. And some Irish coffee. And some hot whiskey at the pub we went to afterwards.

I almost wish I'd had a bit less to drink, because if I had, I probably would have asked my professor's friend who walked into the restaurant for a picture. My professor's friend is Seamus Heaney. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Last time I played with you guys (Sunday?) I made myself a tasty G&T in between rounds of Headquarters. Today I had a beer with lunch, which felt naughty because it was before I left to go to the lab.

The problem with deciding not to fall in love again is that you do anyway. The problem with doing so halfway across the world is that, if a long distance relationship is hard, an intercontinental one is goddamn impossible. And the reason I'm reviving this thread instead of posting in one of the Densha Otoko threads is that, besides the fact that all the advice in the world can't change the finality of my leaving Tokyo tomorrow, I almost certainly wouldn't post something this personal if I didn't have a few beers in my system. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to find a nice, dark corner in which to collapse into a depressed, sobbing ball of sadness.

This is a great idea. I'm going to do that now.

Sorry to hear about that Makkuro. I'd offer advice/consolation but that is just going to flat out suck for a while. Hope you can bear it.

More positive note: I was a groomsman at a wedding last weekend. There are only a few moments where I was blacked-the-fuck-out, but I did have to be carried into bed.

I fundamentally disagree with the thread title.

It is always possible to get drunk, and also there is no level of drunkenness that is impossible.

You just aren't trying hard enough.

ANECDOTE! Worst job I ever had was working for 6 months (spring/summer) in a liquor store. Nothing like having regulars that show up every day when the store opens at 10am to buy a pint of rotgut whiskey or vodka! Or the guys who come in with their kids and ask for their booze to be double-bagged. Or the woman who only buys minis because she's watching her kids that afternoon and knows if she buys a bottle she'll drink the whole thing. Or the woman who breaks down crying at the register because the horrible bottom-shelf vodka is the only thing dulling her husband's cancer pain.

Not to, you know, rain on your "I got so dang drunk" parade or anything. Just something to think about.

nunix, your buffet of pain reminds me of the time my college buddy got a visit from his brother at three on a Saturday afternoon. He was too drunk to drive and needed a ride to the liquor store. I forget who gave him the ride to his brother's...

Oh, college!

I bought some Hoegaarden for my brother and I because we were supposed to hang out this weekend. Turns out he can't come over. Am I a bad enough dude to give this substantial quantity of beer a good home?

He's probably trapped in an airport by now, or possibly having his stomach pumped. Either way, I presume he's heading home to Sweden.

I came home from Ireland and now I can't legally drink until mid-July. So I'm very very sober now.
