I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed Final Space despite the grating tone. It actually came across as pretty heartfelt and touching, which is not how I expected to feel about that show after the first episode.

Guessing Netflix couldn't get the rights to the original dub for whatever reason?

ADV handled it back in the day, didn't they? Shouldn't that have passed to Funimation when they bought it out?

While Netflix is being problematic in its other adaptations, the Carmen Sandiego animation is looking very, very good.

Well, now Iíve gone down a Wikipedia rabbit hole, refamiliarizing myself with the lore.
Quote:
In other media, however, the character seems more than willing to bring chaos and destruction upon the world. For example, many of the thefts committed in the Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego? game show, such as stealing the history of medicine for example, would quite clearly cause millions to die, although this is never specifically stated. In Word Detective and Math Detective, she appears to be particularly fiendish, plotting to steal the concept of natural language in the former and to make herself invincible in the latter.

It seems like she's more of just a good guy, here. I'm down with that, I guess, but I'm going to miss bad guy Carmen. Also, just make a new game show. I want a new game show. Also bring back Knightmare. Weird imaginative kids game shows forever!

Tragic news for my fellow Canadians; Bobs Burgers is leaving Netflix at the enor the month. Also, the DVDs arenít available in stores up here so that avenue is hard to pursue as well.

Tragedy compounds tragedy!

Hrm. That's unfortunate, because it means I'll likely never watch it now. Oh well.

Wait, already? Didn't we just get Bob's Burgers on Netflix earlier this year?

I guess FOX is just nuking all their animated comedies from the service. :/

At least I was far enough into my rewatch of the series that I can be done before it disappears.

Re: Cowboy Bebop live action:
This is allegedly the casting call list:
Spike and Faye are listed as Asian (or multiracial), Jet is listed as black (or multiracial). Ed, Vicious and Julia have no specifications.
Other stuff: Vicious is listed as the leader of the Syndicate, and Julia is listed as his girlfriend'

Granted, I recall The Witcher's casting call specifying one of the characters be a woman of color but they ended up casting a white lady so

A nice Christmas gift to tide us over until Season 2.

I wish more Netflix shows would do one-off Christmas specials like this and Sabrina.

Neo Yokio did too, and it's quite something.

The whole thing is a story-in-a-story being told by the butler, who ends it with LCL-ing the entire city

So I just found Netflix are doing a live action Avatar: The Last Airbender, with the original cartoon's showrunners in charge.

That's...good...I think? But then again, why? If it's just retelling the original story again in live action, how are they hoping to improve on the original? Hmm.

You know how Disney keeps making live action remakes of their classic animated films

(Or quote-unquote live action wrt The Lion King)

I can only presume that they're trying to put the Shyamalan adaptation down the memory hole.

Someone should have told the people that made this new bad CGI version of Watership Down that an exceptional movie adaptation was released 40 years ago.

Plague Dogs is good if your goal is to feel absolutely miserable. Nothing about it is light-hearted.

Very good, realistic drawings, I'll say that. All the animals look like real animals. Its a gorgeous film.

I got a Notification on my iPad suggesting that I may like to watch a 40 minute video of a lot burning, based on my previous viewing habits.

Netflix, sometimes you really get me.

Hey remember Happy Death Day? What if instead of a movie it were a Netflix series starring Natasha Lyonne?

I am probably gonna watch this on the strength of its lead alone, though Nicki is my favorite Orange is the New Black character.
