On the plus side, it DOES at least save your XP progress, though. So I still managed to unlock Pearl's second badge slot on that run. WOO HAH

Cool, I saw this pop up in the App Store, glanced at it and wrote it off as yet another meh CN game. Glad to hear it's better than that. I'll definitely be picking it up.

Yeah, there was a Humble Cartoon Network Mobile Bundle that I didn't feel too compelled to buy. Glad to read this is on the other end of the spectrum.

I've read lots of great things about Adult Swim as a publishing brand, though.

Through BlueStacks?

That's the only majorly-supported one I know, at least -- though I've been reading about more-open x86 projects for desktop, too.

I polished off this game last night and did the final gauntlet on the train this morning. I'm not sure if I'll mop up the bits I missed or not. I maxed out all the gems well before the end, so there's no real reason to keep going except to get 100%

Operation All the Luck was a roaring success. Lucky hits more than made up for the lack of raw power, and the low defense made the game exciting, because I could lose a gem in a single turn if I missed my timed hits. It was just difficult enough that I had to think a little during fights, exploit aggro, use the bubble, etc. Amethyst was laying waste to the game with the Shamrock badge and the instant death badge. Strangely, Pearl ended up with the highest natural Luck by the end, even though she benefited the least from the stat.

The final boss was a pushover, though given what you learn, it makes sense that the poor thing's heart wasn't in the fight.

Anyway, this game is great. A tight, streamlined, short RPG with plenty of charm. I'd definitely hold it up there with the best of the Paper Mario series. It's not as amazing as Thousand Year Door, but then it's also shorter and pithier, which makes it easier to replay. I hope it sells well and the developer gets to make another one.

Man, I really want to play this. As soon as it comes out on something I can play it on, or I get something I can play it on, I'll be all over it.

(hell, maybe this summer I'll finally ditch my old flip phone for a smart phone)

I went for a high-attack low-defense build leaning on the super-powerful defensive abilities (I'm thinking bubble and holo-pearl) to avoid death. It was good fun, but I think I might want to try a challenge run or a different build or something, like with a high luck Amethyst, or a no-Garnet run, or something. Anyone have any other neat builds or challenges?

I did high luck everyone, and Amethyst really came into her own towards the end. I imagine my run was similar to yours, though, with the focus on bubble and holo pearl. I wonder if it's possible to beat the game without using those skills.

You know, the natural comparisons between this game and Paper Mario are making me wish that it had a Beach City hub town where you could walk around and talk to the supporting characters, maybe buy some items. You could play the crane game at Funland to get badges, buy donuts at the Big Donut to use in battle, eat Fish Stew pizza to get temporary stat buffs. That would be pretty sweet!

Is Steven capped at level 20? I noticed he was getting basically no experience after that, but he still had experience in his bar, unlike the Gems when they hit their cap. And it looked like it was getting larger over time, but that might've just been an optical illusion.

According to one of the developers on their forum, Steven's experience bar is bugged when he hits the cap. They're patching it.

They wanted to do this, actually, but it was too short a development schedule. Maybe if they make a sequel?

Maybe with more liberal item use and a stronger focus on defense / harmony (probably in that order) and healing...

The developer did an impressive job of setting realistic goals for themselves and then knocking them out of the park. I'm sad they couldn't put better puzzles in but navigating the dungeons is so quick and breezy that I don't mind as much as I do in other RPGs.

I've been more than a little obsessed with Bloodborne, so I'd fallen off AtL lately. I jumped back into it in a big way tonight and noticed that Garnet's gems in her defeated state are now blue and red. I wonder when they changed that?

I think that's been the case since it came out?

I just got this. Should I play it on my phone or my tablet?

Or, or, or, could it possibly sync saves? I don't think it does that but it sure would be neat if it did

I dunno if it syncs. You could probably play just fine with a phone or a tablet; I played it on my phone and I never felt the screen was too small or anything.

It most definitely did not sync saves when I played it back in April, dunno if they've updated it since then.
