Default Popularity Contest Topic Submission Thread, Ya'll

OK, I decided to make this thread so that when the next one ends, it doesn't get it's subject changed to "OK, what's the next thread". If you want to host the next one and have a topic, submit it here. Only ONE per person and when we reach 10 it maxes out. Also, please don't submit until the countdown from the last one finishes. Also, be explicit if you are basically saying "I don't want to host but this would be a cool list idea, no?"

EDIT:
Lists so far
Top 50 Vegetables
Top 50 Snack Foods
Top 50 NES Games
Top 50 Pieces of Fantasy Prose Fiction
Top 50 Pieces of Sci-Fi Prose Fiction
Top 50 TV Themes
Top 50 DS Games
Top 50 Sports
Top 50 Fictional Species/Races
Top 50 Percy Images

10/10

I think one submission per person might be better, given that previous rounds consisted of 5 people jumping on it and then a bunch of people losing their chance before they even checked the thread. Can always expand that to 2 per if we don't get 10.

Good point. I'm used to working with smaller numbers of people.

For the record, I would theoretically host a mecha contest sometime, but obviously not right after robots, so don't count this as a submission for the current poll. Plus I'm not really sure there's enough fans of that genre reading these threads to warrant it anyway.

I would still like to do something non-character related. So I'll submit:

Top 50 Vegetables (using the colloquial definition of vegetables, so Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Mushrooms count, but, like, Mint doesn't. Listen, I get that it's an arbitrary definition and we'd have to hash things out but otherwise the only thing that would make sense is Top 50 Edible Plants and then I'd be forced to choose between Rosemary and Broccoli and that doesn't make any damn sense, okay, so get of my back, damnit.)

That's the full title of the the list.

Top 50 snack foods, yet again.

Whatever you like to snack on. I'm not going to judge if you decide carrots are a snack food.

Sounds to me like someone needs to go recruiting in the anime general thread.

Both is fine. After all, the context of the visuals generally help make an impression.

EDIT: OK, we are halfway to a full quota (and I am so thankful no one went with characters this time around. Knock on wood. OH NO, MY WOOD! WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!). Let's get more in there.

....I'm jesting, Johnny.

I'd love a book-themed list, so I'll just back up False's suggestion I guess. Assuming he's actually talking about books and not "pieces of media" or something like that.

OK, I love all the topics so far. (EDIT: OK, I forgot about works genre fiction, which is just TOO wide a net. Not big on that one). I'm not a sports guy but I love sports movies, anime and manga. And I have participated in one sport for a few years. And I'll probably vote for some of the sports my sister is good at. So sports would be cool.

Oh, and chess is NOT A SPORT!

This is gonna be a tough vote. Are we gonna go with a multi-select poll this time? Max of X picks per person? Not sure what the best number would be.
