And since this got caught in the recent Photobucket situation, here's Harlan Ellison being attacked by his snake-phone.

Is that Harlan Ellison or Stephen King?

I wish I could find a higher quality version of this. Trust me, there is an astounding amount to take in if you see it in real life.

Isn't "Shatterday" an 80s Twilight Zone episode?

I keep trying to think of what's really supposed to be going on in this picture that only looks like it's a sex thing, but I just can't come up with anything. All comes down to how Merlin there is only half-wearing his robe and his wizard hat.

Here's a slightly better version. Anyone who can tame the hippo/buffalo/moose creature is a man to be feared in my reckoning.

That is a pretty great meatymoose... which appears to be scooping up a whole pile of Sleestaks while between the meatymoose and that tree is a woman who begs so many questions about scale and distance.

I think it's the subtitle to the next Pacific Rim movie.

Just checked, and yep. First episode, even. And directed by Wes Craven! With Bruce Willis!

Yeah, but... magic always carries a price. What if you magically bulk yourself up, but at the cost of your entire INT stat? Now you're a muscular titan but can barely read single-syllable words.

What, you think there's some spell you can whip up to give yourself a 1d6-pack? Heck no. There's no replacement for crunches.

Well, when you go look at a list titled 40 of the Creepiest Book Covers of All Time I guess you shouldn't be surprised by finding macabre and grotesque artwork therein. The one I've included is bad. If you follow the link you'll find ones that are far worse.

The Vivisector is a creepy cover but mainly because I have a thing about getting shit in the eye. Honestly, the Roald Dahl one is probably the one that freaks me the most.

A Holiday For Murder looks like it was made during Salvador Dalí's vapor wave period

This one is apparently called "Planet of the Vampire Apes." 20th Century Fox is leaving literally hundreds of millions of dollars on the table by not making this into an annual spinoff movie franchise.

Draculape's fireballs are coming from the distance... but they're in the foreground of the flying monkeys and in front of his headdress... so is he shooting them out of his ears, or are the flying monkeys cosmic-sized?

I would assume that if the flying monkeys were cosmic-sized then the painting would have been called “Vampires of the Planet-Apes” instead, so ... ears, I guess?

The skeleton pile is shooting fire at the back of the big ape's head. He's falling toward the camera. The green monkeys are trying to reach him, but they are helpless to stop the carnage.

I'm assuming the flying monkey things are really good at dodging. Or maybe the Planet of the Vampire Apes is one of those worlds where no one takes damage from friendly fire. (My extensive experience with video games has taught me that there are many places like this.)

I assumed that they were made of blood.

But what I want to know is - who is in charge of the skull pile? Some of those skulls still have an eyeball left! Doesn't anyone care about following the standard specs for skull piles?!

Now I'm imagining the artist thinking to himself, "hmm, how can I make this picture scarier...? Got it, I'll just draw in an eyeball here, and here, and..."

That’s almost enough to start a “bewildering” thread. Maybe “Uh ... Fantasy Art?”
