Default 2019 Read Stories/Books

Let's roll!

Post title explained
"Book" is overused with my entries in this thread. A book often contains one story, sometimes multiple ones. Anthologies, for example. A comic isn't a book, yet I would count it here. Pulp fiction, which I read as well, are not really books, not even novellas.

Goals
- Read 6 books
...
Yeah, that's it.

Explanation
Normal Book
Short Story
Pulp Fiction (64 pages, cheap)
Comic, Graphic Novel
Tried it, but didn't read it to the end

Now Reading
Mary Kirchoff - Preludes Vol. 2 - Kendermore (Dragonlance)

Note: I'll credit comic creators as writer/artist or writer/penciller/inker/colorist. I'm not sure if I want to log single issues, but I will in any case log graphic novels and trade paperback collections. I think I'll count single issues as a fifth of a read, because trade collection normally have 5 of them in it.

Books in progress (more or less):
  • William Gibson - Virtual Light
  • Spider Robinson - Lady slings the booze (started to read the whole Calahan series but for some reason stopped in the middle of that book in 2014)
  • Jeff Doyle, Jennifer DeHaven Carroll - Routing TCP/IP, Volume 1, 2nd Edition (reading that half for work and half for myself)
  • Perry Rhodan (started reading this really long running german weekly space opera novella series again with #3000, let's see how long I'll keep up; I'll treat them the same as single issue comics, although it takes me longer to read them then these)

Books I have and want to read this year:
  • Cisco SWITCH Cert Guide (more for the job then pleasure)
  • Kevin Wallace - CCNP Routing and Switching ROUTE 300-101 - Official Cert Guide (more for the job then pleasure)
  • Preacher Volume 1 and 2 (my brother practically forced me to borrow them)
  • Transmetropolitan (want to read the series for the third time, but this time I'll buy the trades for that)
  • Scud the disposable assassin (bought the "The whole Shebang" very thick paperback for myself for christmas)
  • Stjepan Sejic - Sunstone Vol. 6 Mercy Part One (why haven't I've read that yet, Sunstone is probably my most favorite comic ever, and I have the ebook and a printed editon since both came out (print was nearly a week later))

January (0) (0 re-read) (0 single issue)

February (1.4) (1 re-read) (2 single issue)
2019-02-05: Warren Ellis/Darick Robertson - Transmetropolitan Vol. 1: Back on the Street (TPB): This will be the third time I'll be reading the whole of Transmet, this time I'll finally buy the paperbacks (I've read scans previously). Back in the day when the german translation was in the shops Transmet always intrigued me, but for some reason I never picked it up. In 2004 (I think) I finally read it, and loved it more and more by every page. I still feel the same, although it took 2/3rds of Vol 1 for me to get into the mood.
2019-02-17: Christian Montillon/Wim Vandemaan - Perry Rhodan #3000: Mythos Erde (Retail): I started reading the german, longest running weekly scifi novella series again starting at the jubilee issue #3000, interesting read that sets up the coming story arc and setting nicely.
2019-02-25: Oliver Fröhlich - Perry Rhodan #3001: Von Göttern und Gönnern (Retail):

March (1.6) (0 re-read) (3 single issues)
2019-03-13: Michael Marcus Thurner - Perry Rhodan #3002: Die Kriegsschule (Retail):
2019-03-21: Greg & Meg Smallwood/Greg Smallwood - Vampironica #5 (DRM-free CBZ from Comixology): Finally I've read the last issue of the mini series, nice horror story with great artwork. Let's see how the crossover with Jughead The Hunger will go.
2019-03-22: Greg Rucka/Shawn Martinbrough/Steve Mitchell/Wildstorm FX - Detective Comics #742 - The honored Dead: Looked over a scan of "Detective Comics - 80 years of Batman - The Deluxe Edition" and that sounded interesting. It's from 2000 from the aftermath of the No Man's Land story arc. Nice story that plays off the finale of NML, with an interesting emotional side to Batman and James Gordon, and an interesting choice of colouring (vaguely reminds me of the Rhapsody in Blue bit of Fantasia 2000).
2019-03-24: David Hucaby - CCNP Routing and Switching SWITCH 300-115 - Official Cert Guide: Read that because my CCNA R&S is running out, and I want to get a next level certificate instead of simply recertify. Unfortunately reading it took much longer than I wanted, and my exam is on tuesday, so let's see how that goes.

April (2.6) (0 re-read) (8 single issues)
2019-04-02: Michael Marcus Thurner - Perry Rhodan #3003: Das Triumvirat der Ewigen (Retail):
2019-04-06: Christian Montillon - Perry Rhodan #3004: Der Vital-Suppressor (Retail):
2019-04-07: Andreas Brandhorst - Perry Rhodan #3005: Wiege der Menschheit (Retail):
2019-04-09: Jake Richmond - Modest Medusa Season 1 (DRM-free PDF from Bundle of Holding):
2019-04-11: Nick Marino/Daniel Arruda Massa - Holy Fuck #1 (of 4):
2019-04-12: Uwe Anton - Perry Rhodan #3006: Halbraum-Havarie (Retail):
2019-04-13: Michelle Stern - Perry Rhodan #3007: Zeuge der Jahrhunderte (Retail):
2019-04-14: Susan Schwartz - Perry Rhodan #3008: Stadt der Letztgedanken (Retail): Finally caught up with the series again after not being able to read much in prepartion of my CCNP SWITCH exam.
2019-04-16: Scott Snyder/Francis Manapul - Justice League v4 #10 (Drowned Earth #1 of 8):
