The problem is that killing elves just creates more ghosts.

I bet he's doing very, very well right now.

If I were the beer industry (or tobacco for that matter), I'd be working overtime into trying to set myself up as one of the big industrial-sized players in the marijuana industry that's to come.

Most of the toy collector circles I'm in have been in a tail-chasing frenzy of "maybe TRU wouldn't be closed if the prices weren't so insulting" followed by "actually it was killed by evil hedge funds."

TRU was incapable of paying down the loans taken out against its assets as part of its leveraged buyout. One would assume the near-insulting prices were an attempt at trying to change that.

In conclusion: TRU wasn't killed by millennials, it was killed by Baby Boomers trying to be Gordon Geckos.

And I'm pretty sure those Boomers have killed a lot more than millennials have ever managed.

I still don't know whether or not to be impressed that the name for that generation sounds like a Godzilla villain.

I mean, it tends to get lost in all the leather and guns, but the actual 'real' world mechanical bits of the Matrix was a big giant metaphor for the modern Western way of living, America in particular.

The trick is to make liberal use of the Scene Skip button in the first half of the movie.

You do that and Final Wars immediately becomes the best Godzilla movie.

I'm actually pretty amused by the "why aren't millennial giving blood?" quandary, because I remember as a teen our school used to sponsor blood drives to suck blood out of us in ways I'm pretty sure no previous generation had thrown at them on a school campus.

I also remember my friends very excitedly lining up to give blood and then like half of them getting turned down eventually for a myriad of reasons like they were gay or exposed to Hep at some point in their lives. I too tried to give blood but they didn't want me b/c I was too skinny back then. >_>

Nowadays, I'm mostly too annoyed by our local blood bank because once you give blood once they put you on a calling list and call you like 3 times a week to beg you for blood and oh my god those calls get annoying quick.

Mmm. I remember the lady who came to my school when I was in elementary who was convincing us to give blood. Notable talking points included "every time you donate blood, three lives are saved, so if you don't donate, you're killing three people" and "don't want to give blood because you're scared of needles? SUCK IT UP, MURDERER"

The needles don't scare me. It's the being nonfunctional for possibly several hours after that gets me
