Considering this info (which is directly stated in the Kickstarter pitch video, BTW) solidifies faith the game will be actually be released as opposed to the ones that get cancelled because the dev burns through all their funds for a myriad of reasons... yes, I think I will, thanks.

Kickstarters by established professionals are generally more reliable, because they already know how much things actually cost in the real world. The second strongest sign here is that the game is going to be made by Inti Creates, a company that already exists and has an established apparatuses for disbursing funds appropriately. The strongest sign is that they're not jerking themselves off with stretch goals.

Apparently Michiru Yamane is "excited to hear the fans' covers, remixes, and rearrangements" of the theme song, which is great because I can probably copy and paste sections of my cover of Gusty Garden Galaxy using the instruments from my cover of An Empty Tome.

(Honestly though, it's a pretty good tune. Cover is imminent.)

Iga dislikes bottomless pits. Of course.

Also... *points at Shovel Knight*.

That's a pretty kickass kickstarter game.

Its not currently coming to a system I play games on. If it looked like it would be hurting to make its goals, then I would pony up $30 to get a copy and help out. But its doing fine. I can just pay for it when it comes out.

Yes, I totally agree. We treat Kickstarter as a pre-order service all too often. It's not as if I won't get to play the game (although there would be a chance of that in a less wildly successful KS).

The irony is, if you're committed enough to back this campaign, you're also more likely to spout Symphony of the Night quotes.

New stretch goal: local co-op.

Yeah, it's gonna earn that fast.

This game is gonna get funded whether or not I throw any money into it, so if it's all the same, I'd rather just buy it when it comes out rather than pre-order it two years in advance.

That makes me wonder - where are they currently at in the development lifecycle? Can they really make a game like this in that amont of time?

Considering they only have mock-ups for art, sounds like pre-production.

I don't doubt it. They won't have to build much of their own tech. It's totally doable.

Plus they've made games of this sort before. With modern tools, a lot of the coding tasks the team would have to do are much simpler now, so the most difficult task is probably getting all the art done.

I hope they put in the candle skeleton. That would be fun.

I was not aware of Inti Creates pedigree. It looks to be a good match. But I still can't help but wonder - how much of Mighty #9 did they do and how much did Comcept do? (Since that seems the most relevant from a technology standpoint.)

If it was on 3DS, I would have shelled the money already. Now I'll probably cave in after a few days.

the "basement goals" unlock with the Achievements from people tweeting, liking the FB page, making Vines, etc.

I'm with narcodis: I'll be delighted to purchase the game when it's out but at this point don't feel the need to preorder way in advance.

I'm just buying it when it comes out. I don't back stuff on Kickstarter. Not totally sure which version I'll get, just because if it hits that March 2017 release date, I'll possibly have a PS4 then.

I'll probably do the same. I don't have $60 right now (or even $28) to throw into KS, and I won't for the foreseeable future. I also don't have anything to play it on at present, since Nintendo platforms are what I have. If the Wii U pops up as an option and I magically fall into some money, then sure, I'd definitely contribute.

By 2017 we'll probably have a replacement for the Wii U.
