If I had, like, a big arcade, I would totally put this up at the concession area.

But would your concession area sell buckets of fried chicken and hoagie rolls filled with guacamole?

Also, are Joe and Andy both supposed to be left-handed? I can't remember if they ever establish that in any of the games.

Wait, are you saying you can't eat a burger or wing with your non-dominant hand?

I guess I was always a little ambidextrous but I wasn't aware if that's a thing.

I just always assumed that most people used their dominant hand when holding food one-handed.

I usually hold food with my left hand because I use my dominant right hand for other stuff. Even if said dominant hand is actually free. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Default The following post is not a joke

I usually hold hamburgers and hot dogs with my left hand because my dominant hand has a ketchup bottle affixed to it with which I am individually applying ketchup to the site of each bite.

I decided that I wanted a poster of Katsuya Terada's Legend of Zelda artwork. Sadly, no such thing exists as far as I am aware. So I decided to futz around with Paint.net and throw something together. I'm not terribly thrilled with the way it came out but I still might go ahead and try to get it printed off somewhere and see how well I like it.

spoilerpop'd for huge image

So the poster I arranged just arrived. I think it turned out looking pretty snazzy! (The image quality is a bit poor but the print itself looks very sharp.)

I tried to get a better picture but the glass on the frame is just too reflective. So for posterity I'm posting the compressed image below and also linking to the 20mb .tiff file that I used to send to the printer if anyone wants the high quality image.

Damn that artwork is sooooo beautiful. There are few things I wouldn't give for a modern Zelda game styled like this. The aesthetic is just so fuckin' tight and has a stronger feeling of, like, a dangerous adventure than Zelda has every had. Those dungeon shots give me legit shivers.

Yeah, Katsuya Terada's artwork for the early Zelda games is really fantastic. I agree with you that it does a fantastic job of evoking the idea that Link is going on a perilous journey through fantastic places with deadly monsters that is pretty much the foundational trope of high fantasy but so many other games/books/movies fail to capture that spirit.

Here's a flickr gallery with much more of that Terada's Zelda artwork.

I'd still like to scan my collection and make a dedicated public Katsuya Terada archive. So much of his stuff has no high-quality versions available online.

I have always loved Terada's work, even before I knew who he was. Great stuff.

If I'm not mistaken, those are by Yoichi Kotabe, who also did most of the art for Super Mario Bros. as well, and I think does most of the handdrawn stuff in that series, even to this day.

I've always liked that those images look very much like frames from an animated movie.
