Burger King's New Black Friday Deal Gets You Free Whoppers

Quote:
In short, Burger King has created a website called WHOPPER-SHOPPER.com. This website consists entirely of banner ads for other brands. When you click through those ads and buy things, a percentage of that sale will go to Burger King, and Burger King will pay out that cut to you in the form of a free Whopper voucher. Basically, Burger King built an online store and if you buy items from the featured retailers, you'll get rewarded with free burgers.

I was hoping it was meant as a reference to its point of origin, rather than an indication of exclusivity.

It's a referral bonus. It's not a criminal enterprise.

Agreed. Burger King has lost it. The only thing I eat there are the regular hamburgers.

Had one last night, as it happens. It was aight. Turkey was pretty good and moist, had the cajun seasoning on it. B+ fast food sandwich. If I splurge on one again, I'ma 86 the sad little tomato; it's about as thick as the turkey slices and just kind of... gets in the way and makes the whole thing slide around. I feel like it needs something a little more solid for bread, too. The bun kinda disintegrated from the sauce/tomate/turkey confluence of moistness. Maybe a thick wheat or rye? I know they have other kinds of bread...

Anyway. Good bird, just needs some tweaking to preference.

I had The Gobbler, which is basically a turkey-day meal in a sandwich, and it was extremely good. Cranberry sauce should just be a thing year-round.

They are awful, but about once a year I get a weird craving for one anyway, because my body hates itself.

Same, pretty much, although I think I'd rate them as "fine", not awful. Like, a real burger is better, but sometimes I want the salty trash burger.

(PROTIP: Almost any McDonald's menu item can be described by putting "salty trash" in front of it.)

I'll grab a big mac whenever I cave in to the little one's demands for "chicken nuggets, apples, french fires, chocolate milk and a toy!" (yes she requests it exactly like that). I'm never terribly unhappy with it.

KFC assumes you’re interested in purchasing this fried chicken-scented firelog [UPDATED]

Quote:
Update, December 14: Oh, you actually were interested in that chicken-scented log, eh? Sorry for those who didn’t snatch theirs up early, as the logs reportedly sold out within hours yesterday.

I was reminded this thread was here, and I recently had a fast food Experience that should serve as warning to others. For the first time, I actually stopped at the Carl's Jr we pass by occasionally, and good lord did that make Burger King seem like a reputable dining establishment. I ordered a Thickburger, and I've had a more authentic burger experience out of a hot case at am-pm.

That sounds about right. Do yourself a favor and don't track down any of their commercials from the past few years.

Carl's Jr./Hardee's made a big push to simplify their menu and raise the quality of their beef about a decade ago, and they've been slowly sliding back into mediocrity and menu bloat ever since.

Hardee's is one of two major chain restaurants I've gotten food poisoning from (the other being Arby's). For a long-ass while in my local suburb in my teen years the only fast food options were Hardee's, Arby's, White Castle, and Taco Bell. There were also a McD's and a Subway nearby, but I also don't consider those food.

Needless to say, I was pleased as punch to live pretty much next to a gastropub and a Mediterranean-American restaurant for most of my twenties.
