I picked up Dishonored and need to play it, but I suppose most interested people recently finished it...

I'm interested and I'm only an hour or so in. Worst case we trade notes in the dedicated thread.

If the focus of Fun Club remains playing non-super-recent games, then here's what I've got on my backlog:
* Demon's Souls
* Mole Mania
* FF XIII
* FF XIII 2
* Just Cause 2
* Space Invaders Extreme
* Terranigma

+1 for DQIII Job Fiesta. Never played it, and that's just the sort of quirk to get me interested.

I'd be up for that. My Dragon Quest burnout's pretty much gone, and III is my personal favorite to go back to because it has many revolutionary steps for the series and a job system that's neat while not shoving eleventy billion abilities on you.

I'll probably play NES if I revisit it, though. That version doesn't have the thief class.

EDIT: And to make things interesting, why not have a randomizer for the initial jobs and another one for what your characters can revocate to later on?

EDIT EDIT: Oh right, just remembered that on NES Goof-Offs can only revocate to Sages and nobody can revocate to a Goof-Off. SFC/GBC would probably work better, though I still thing NES could be neat.

So I know we tried to do lists of games people wanted to play, and the most prevelant game in the lists was chosen and run with, sometimes to less activity than would be hoped.

Is it worth looking at that idea with the additional caveat that a certain level of interest is required? So rather than seeing that Game X is most popular, on a whole 4 peoples' lists, only choosing Game X if it meets some minimum threshhold?

What we do when no game crosses that barrier (which might be rather common) is open for discussion, though.

For once, I'm not in the middle of something (other than a long-term P3P playthrough), so I'm up for playing lots of stuff:

Koudelka
Dark Cloud
DQ VIII
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Radiata Stories
Shadow Hearts
Devil Summoner
Nocturne
Tales of Legendia

Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 or 3. Or all three. Let's talk about Crash Goddamn Bandicoot. Nobody does, and when they do it's weird furry shipping with Spyro. I've been playing these games on my PSP lately and they's good. You can 100% them in a few days easy.

Okay, the DQIII thing is definitely happening and will start on Monday. We can keep ironing out the details.

Otherwise, feel free to keep suggesting things.

Well as far as other games go, I definitely second Ted's Just Cause 2 recommendation. The game's great for messing around. You've got a grappling hook that shoots into nearly every surface, parachutes you can sail all over the place with, over 100 vehicles of land/sea/air travel you can steal, and the game world's size is more like that of an Elder Scrolls game than a standard sandbox game.

I'll second botticus's Tales of Legendia suggestion and toss in Final Fantasy IX and something wacky... how about Chrono Cross?

Yeah, Cross would work too; not currently on my backlog but that's because I sold the disc so I could buy it digitally one day.

I'll third it. It's the game I originally download Steam for (newegg had an offer for it with my video card) and I still haven't played it yet.

Having not played either, I'm not sure what this means, but it sounds like good news and I'm excited for potential Fun Club vehicle grappling awesome rock n roll check this out action.

What I mean is the game world is fucking huge compared to other sandbox games with the whole gunning and vehicle stealing deal. The Panau City area's about the size of a game world you would expect from a PS2 or Xbox sandbox game, and it's a relatively small chunk of Panau.

You can't really go into buildings like some other sandboxes, but it's still impressive just how huge the game world is and how you can get practically anywhere in it if you try hard enough.

System Shock 2 would be an excellent Fun Club game now that it's finally available in digital form with modern OS compatibility.

Hey! We haven't done one of these in a while. What should we do next? What will you all play in bulk?

Maybe El Shaddai since a lot of people bought it when they had in on sale last month?

So hey, we really haven't had a consensus yet, so I'm still looking for something people will play.

To be clear: I want to get things chugging again, I just need a couple of choices that people will actually play and not give up on a couple of days later.

For what it's worth, here's my current backlog:
  • Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
  • Persona 3 Portable
  • The Last Story
  • Xenoblade Chronicles
Probably all too new or lengthy.

However, I'm always up for a replay of:
  • Ghost Trick
  • Metroid Fusion
  • Metroid Zero Mission
  • SMT Strange Journey

That's right, I did finally buy Persona 3 after the PSN sale, so that might be a good choice.
