FFVIII is the best Final Fantasy for people who like The Man With the Machine Gun.

FFIX is the best Final Fantasy for people who like to fly Final Fantasy airships.

Really, the worst Final Fantasy is still better than 70% of video games.

FFVIII has the best airships. And there's multiple of them!

Having you seen the cascade of garbage flowing out of Steam on the daily? It's skewing the numbers a bit.

That is not a Final Fantasy, that is a crappy tower defense get rich quick scheme. The crummy interactable ad that plays exactly the same as two other crummy interactable ads for Generic Armymens and Generic Medievalmens told me so.

From what I’ve played so far, your first instinct was right.

The Ragnarok is the second best airship in the series, trailing slightly behind the Fahrenheit and just ahead of the Strahl. But I don't count the Gardens as airships, considering the one you control only skims the surface ponderously and is limited by the slightest elevations

On that note, the FFVIII world doesn't have many mountains or hills of significant height, which is what makes the act of flying the Hilde Garde III or the Invincible so much fun.

Record Keeper, Brave Exvius and Dissidia Omnia Opera are all reasonably decent F2P gatcha games, though none does anything to really fix any of the inherent flaws in the genera. They're all fairly playable without spending money, have a lot of content and their own issues with grinding and game balance.

ATB was the worst kind of mobile trash and A New Empire seems to be a follow up. Not sure about Airborn Brigade, think Kirin is the only person I know who's ever gotten into it?

Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire is just the same old crap Machine Zone was selling with Mobile Strike before it and Game of War: Fire Age before that: A city-building tower defense game taped onto a freemium scam. They couldn't even be arsed to give the game its own original ad, they just rehashed the same "build fortifications, defend wall" interactive ad the other two had with a new skin.

I've been playing FFXV Pocket on the Switch. I like it. Simple but appealing graphics, linear story with a bit of goofing off in each area, lots of endearing dialog. It reminds me of The Last Story more than anything else. I checked out a lot of reviews first and they were pretty unhelpful, with a lot of "if you're a true fan" and "not the authentic experience" kind of lines. Whatever. Is it fun? It's fun.

Not just the 'bros, but every single other Final Fantasy character from across every game, is huddled around and watching just out of frame, all very vocal in their judgment of every move made and fish caught.

*Catches a 2lb minnow*

"Great catchkupo!"

"Will it go well in a hot dog?"

*cravenly eats fish raw*

"I've forgotten bigger fish than this."

"I-is... the fish gonna be ok?"

*lip-smacking intensifies*

"Kweh...?"

"It's not like I'm impressed by your catch or anything..."

"Mighty good catch, ole chap!"

World of Final Fantasy gets an update titled "Maxima", and will also be released for Switch/Xbox. I wonder if this will fix the playability issues that people have complained about? Because if it does I might get it on PS4.

I've been checking periodically and I can't see where the Maxima version is available on PS4 other than via DLC, whereas the Xbox One and Switch versions are complete in box. The vanilla version is relatively cheap now but as someone who always opts for physical, it's a little irritating that I don't see a PS4 complete (Maxima) physical release, meaning I'd need to buy the vanilla version and download Maxima content.

Yeah that's right, it's only a physical release for the new platforms. Everything else is DLC.

Is there a physical release on the Switch?

Amazon doesn't list anything, but it'd be the odd-one out.

It took me just shy of four hours, but I finally beat Yiazmat in FFXII Zodiac Age, and that was with x4 speed turned on. I'm exhausted.

Do we have any indication on when Chocobos Dungeon is coming out? The reveal trailer said “late 2018”, and were running out of 2018 in which to release it.

I've got a question about Final Fantasy X: Is there a legitimate way, in the game, to learn the airship coordinates for secret locations? Not the passwords, I know those can be found in the Al Bhed ruins, but the number-coordinates. Searching around the web, I only find guides that give away the coordinates, but no hints on how I would go about getting them myself if I wanted to try. Is it just supposed to be trial and error?
