The only episode where this formula is broken is the Christmas episode, where Danny enlists the help of Misty Knight so they can follow Luke around to gather intel so that he might get Luke the PERFECT CHRISTMAS PRESENT.

But little does Danny know that Luke has enlisted the help of Ward, and the two are trying to follow Danny around for the same reason!

50 straight minutes of the two pairs dodging eachother at the mall, leading to hilarious misunderstandings and mall santa Hijinks.

(Danny is very upset to learn that Santa is not real).

The Twist ending is that Santa is TOTALLY real because if super powers are real then you better fucking believe that Santa Clause is real.

That's what Heroes for Hire is and it's a shame Marvel doesn't realize they should just do a Heroes for Hire show.

EDIT: There was a recent Power Man and Iron Fist comic series, in which they did in fact meet the real Santa Claus.

Which one is this so I can just watch this one.

We really do need some episodic hero stuff. Even just a season or two. Give us Luke Cage & Iron Fist doing some Heroes for Hire stuff. Bring in everyone else, too; let Jessica be a detective. Give us Daredevil doing some lawyering.

I really thought Heroes for Hire would be what Defenders would end with. Daredevil doesn't really fit, but Luke, Danny, Jessica, Colleen, Misty all do. Hell, even Trish if they wanted to.

This x100.

I do love me some good serialized stories, but these characters are just crying out for some episodic adventures.

Why would you even BOTHER to make a censored version of this song?

You're on Netflix! You don't have to cut out the cusses! The F-Words are allowed to flow freely!

AND IF YOU'RE CUTTING OUT CUSSES, WOULDN'T A DIFFERENT CUSS TAKE PRIORITY?

Yes I am aware that the n-word in rap songs is the sort of thing that could be argued back and forth for literally all of eternity.

But like.

YOU COULD HAVE JUST NOT CENSORED THE SONG, YOU DISNEY NERDS.

in short.

Whelp, Finished.

I just can't BUY that a fucking nightclub is supposed to be the fucking linchpin for the entirety of Harlem.

I mean.

That fucking place is half the size of my go-to spot for BAD DECISIONS through my 20s, and that place closed down TWICE.

And I'm supposed to buy that owning the cool nightclub is supposed to make you basically god?

Fuck off.

Why would Danny Rand be a Hero for Hire if he's a millionaire :thinkingemoji:

I'm a little more than halfway through. This season is a little less enjoyable for me than the first season, but it is still way ahead of most of the other Marvel Netflix shows that have been released in the last year or so. Still unnecessarily show that doesn't build character quite as much as it seems to think it does. My biggest complaint is that it sometimes has cliffhangers were I'm like "Wait, not only did shit get real, but it looks like they are going to have fun." and then sort of back off on that. I don't even mind that two episodes end with the same bad guy wants to hire Luke Cage to save his life ending, those still work really well and promise a fun character combo... only to back off on it or just make it a little less fun (OK, we did get some Luke and Piranha escaping that was fun, but then things slow way down and end kind of anticlimactically.

But I still like the characters, I like the action when it happens and HOLY SHIT THE MUSIC. Not only the guest performers, but any time the funky music starts up, I am in. It's, like, the best way to trick me that a scene is much better than it is.

That can be solved in a cold open. Danny does something stupid and looses all of his money. Like Ward gets him to sign everything over with a simple lie because the Danny is losing all the money on whatever nonsense that 8-year-old in an adult body thinks is a good idea.

I enjoyed this. Mariah was fantastic this season. Her actress can sell terrifying/unsettling really really well.

I'm not done yet, but yeah, Alfre Woodard has been killing it.
